otherwise, the radar shows not a ton going on. any showers left on the cape right now will be tending to push offshore. the temperatures are in the mid to upper 60s. 64 in wooster right now. and there's some fog. it's patchy but it is locally dense. so look at this, you could barely see in ports mouth right now. quarter mile visibility in laurens. it's something to be aware of. cape shower and patchy fog. a lot of but the sun breaks out here, increasing sunshine is the trend today. 78 by mid-day. still could be a lingering shower along the south coast. warm and a little bit humid. 82 degrees with increasing sun for the ride home. sunset the -- sunset at 6:44. >> well, new overnight, crews are working to repair a water main break happening in chelsea.

of revere beach parkway. we'll let you know when we get an update. also happening this morning, some construction work inside the o'neill tunnel, the right two lanes on 93 northbound are closed and southbound are also closed inside the tunnel. that's the only thing that's going to slow you down right now this morning. the afghan immigrant suspected of setting off may have referenced the boston marathon bombers. according to cnn a handwritten note found next to one of the bombs referenced ramblings. a source tells cbs news, ahmad rahami is not cooperating with investigators. >> he's now charged in connection with his capture. rahami a u.s. citizen fates five counts of attempted murder of police officers. he's still in the hospital this morning recovering from a

he's being held on $5.2 million bail as prosecutors consider what charges to file against him. we have more on the investigation from linden, new jersey. >> reporter: video obtained by cbs news appears to show ahmad khan rahami dragging a bag to the site of the bombing. two days later, it was rahami who was bloodied and away on a stretcher after a chooout with police caught on camera in linden, new jersey. >> this guy was just sleeping in front -- and told them this guy need to come and check it out. he don't look good. >> reporter: bar owner claims he found the 28-year-old asleep in his front doorway. police say when they vowed him he shot at officers striking one of them in their bulletproof vest and grazing another.

believe this was an act of terror. >> reporter: police say clear as day surveillance video, a fingerprint and some dna linked rahami, a naturalized citizen from afghanistan, to the explosion in bustling chelsea. investigators believe he's also responsible for the bombings at a marine corps run in new jersey where thankfully no one was injured. and early monday the fbi raided rahami's elizabeth new jersey apartment. on sunday evening a backpack short distance away, and elizabeth train station including one that a robot detonated. so far, authorities say there is no indication rahami is part of a larger terror cell, although president obama is urging everyone to remain vigilant. >> i think it's important to remember what terrorists and violent extremists are trying to do. they are trying to hurt innocent people, but they also want to

they have not found any direct links between rahami or isis, or any other terror organization. in linden, new jersey, wbz this morning. 4:35 right now. federal investigators are looking into rahami's travel history. law enforcement sources say he traveled to his native country multiple times as a standard procedure, he was questioned every time he returned to the u.s. former boston police commissioner and wbz security analyst ed davi explosives used in new york were detonated with a cell phone showing a level of sophistication that requires training. davis also says combating homegrown terrorism is not easy. >> you have to prosecute the war overseas in syria and iraq and do preventive stuff here in the united states with just as much dedication. >> as a me caution -- as a

state police say they plan to increase security at thursday night's patriots's game just like they did for sunday's game. the presidential candidates addressing national security in response to the bombings. trump says he would fix what he calls, quote, a broken immigration system while hillary clinton says she has proven leadership and experience. >> i'm the only candidate in in race who has been part of the hard decisions to take terrorists off the battlefield. >> we screen who is entering the united states, puts all of our citizens, everyone in this room, at danger. >> and national security will be one of the three topics at the first presidential debate next week. we'll bring you live coverage monday night right here on wbz. this morning, the justice department is investigating after tulsa police shoot and kill a black man. police responded to reports of a vehicle stalled in a road on

terrance crutcher with his hands in the air. he dropped to the ground after being shot. then a female officer opened fire shooting and killing him. that officer is now on paid leave. crutcher's family shows video police prejudged him as a threat and they're calling for peace during the investigation. a developing story this morning. there will be extra security at public schools after a threat against school buses. police now say they believe this threat may be ax. a woman found a bag of shotgun shells with messages on them. the messages referenced terrorism and a bomb at a school. all the town school buses were searched, police say they will prosecutor whoever is behind this and say making threats, even if it's a hoax, can carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. new this morning, school officials responding to student safety after a teacher is

alt is returning to his position as a gym teacher. he was placed on paid administrative leave for several days after allegations of domestic assault. a 911 problem, residents in huntington and chester couldn't call 911 from landlines for several hours yesterday. state police urged people to use cell phones instead. they now say the 911 service for landlines has been restored. no word yet on what caused that outage. well he may be down with serious shoulder injury, but don't count garoppolo out just yet. the patriots have not ruled him out for thursday night's game. >> this morning, tom brady is weighing in. steve burton is here with his take. >> reporter: well good morning. there's been no word on the shoulder yet. but it's hard to see him playing against texas on thursday night. it looks like bring set will get the start. he was talked to last night

. new this morning, a warning if you have waffles in your freezer. they're being recalled in massachusetts and 24 other states because of possible listeria contamination. the voluntary recall impacts only kelloggs nutri-grain whole wheat waffles. it has a best if used by date of november 2017. kelloggs says you should throw out any effective packages and contact them for a full refund. in today's money watch, the

driverless cars, plus the electric car proposal getting inspiration from the bat mobile. >> and a bank ceo apologizing today. jill wagner joins us live with those stories and more. good morning, jill. >> reporter: good morning. the ceo of wells fargo will be questioned today on capitol hill. he is expected to apologize to customers and congress for the scandal at the bank. regulators say wells fargo worker created millions of fake bank accounts to sales goals and get bonuses. new obama administration is rolling out new guidelines for self-driving cars. they're trying to stay ahead of the technology. they want automakers to lay out how they will comply with existing traffic laws and what would happen if the systems failed. the drivers are usually certified by states but the federal government says washington should make the rules if the driver is a computer. pay more for premium gas could be a waste of money.

drying out this morning. there are a few lingering showers out of cape right now. really pushing from chatham back to or leans and tur row. light for the most part. these are pushing offshore. there's some additional rain just south of block island. i would have the umbrella with you along the south coast, over to cape cod at least for now with that threat for a lingering shower over the next several hours. boston, laurens 68. most of us in the middle to upper 60s. we have low dew points in the 60s as well. the fall is locally thick so that's one thing you want to be aware of. satellite and radar shows there's some clearing coming into parts of vermont, new hampshire and maine. what's going on here is the front that came through us yesterday is now stalled out. that's the key. it's not moving until later on today when we get this next cold front to come in. that marks the leading edge of less humid air, that will kick this front out of here.

case dismissed yesterday was a 2010 drug charge against the hyde park man who is facing heroin and cocaine trafficking charges. last week an audit reveals guns, drugs, and money were all missing from the evidence room at the braintree police department. an ancient skeleton unearthed from the depth of the aegean sea. they were discovered from the greece at the site of a 2,000 year old shipwreck. the skeleton is the first to be analysis began. once tested, though, they tell us it could tell us a about the past. a cat inside boston's tunnel has a new name. now he's looking for a new home. here is callahan, the state trooper found the five-year-old cat last week inside the tunnel. he appeared to have been hit by a car. the trooper brought the cat to the spca student. callahan is doing well and should be ready for adoption in about six weeks.

. our top story this tuesday morning, the investigation into the terror at home. a man suspected of setting off bombs in new york and new jersey may have referenced the boston marathon bombers. a handwritten note found next to one of the bombs contained rambles that referenced terrorists, including the tsarnaev brothers. well this morning bombing suspect ahmad rahimi is being held on bail. he's in the hospital after undergoing surgery. rahami is facing charges of five counts of attempted murder for that gunfight with police. federal prosecutors are now deciding what other charges he will face in connection with bombings that injured 29 people

into people has been released and ordered not to drive. brad casler was arraigned yesterday on two counts of motor vehicle homicide in connection to the sweet tomatoes crash. attorneys on both sides confirmed casler has multiple sclerosis. casler insists his brake pedal was stuck. >> the braking system was fully functioning as well as the accelerator was fully and appropriately functioning. >> i think i said very clearly in court suffers from multiple sclerosis. he has for about 27 years. and we all know the effects of multiple sclerosis. >> casler pleaded not guilty. his next court date is set for thursday. a child in chelsea hit by a driver who police say weaved around a stopped school bus. the 6-year-old boy was clipped by the side mirror yesterday morning. paramedics took him to the hospital with minor injuries. that driver was cited. double trouble for a jet blue plane. it was diverted to boston for an
