foashes. >> i saw police come and they ordered me back in the car. >> reporter: do you know if there was a young child in the car that hit you? >> i have no idea. i know there was a little hand, like a little hand like on the floor. >> reporter: witnesses say after the land rover flipped over, several young men climbed out and at least one was arrest. stacy harris said that the land rover was carjacked and the owner got in a friend's car was chasing her stolen vehicle. >> the hijacked lady got in her friend's car and started chasing the kids and called police, and then the police chased them and when he hit this corner, he can't drive too good and flipped over. >> reporter: now, my colleague spoke with the driver of the car just moments ago and confirmed there was no young child in the back seat of the land rover.

one person has died and fours injuries after apparently stealing the land rover in jamaica plain and crashing on warren street. bill shields, wbz news. a guilty verdict in the murder of an army veteran at a parking garage. this video was key evidence. you can see the fight that breaks out before shooting. christina hager has more. >> reporter: the courtroom, lisa, erupted in loud sobbing after the verdict, and this was quick, less than two hours of jury deliberations. >> the defendant guilty or not guilty? >> guilty. >> reporter: guilty of first- degree murder in the shooting death of steven perez, an army veteran who returned to boston after serving two tours in the

overnight brawl caught on surveillance and cell phone video in a theater district garage in 2012. the defense had argued castillo shot perez to stop the beating. perez's cousin spoke outside court after the verdict. >> we are very happy this is all over with, and finally, we have closure. it will never bring back steven but we can move on more emotional. this moment of what they see as justice finally coming after castillo fled to the dominican republic and evaded authorities for years until he was arrested in january 2015. da, dan conley. >> this is a case of individuals carrying unlicensed

wept loudly, his attorney vowing to appeal. >> we respect the verdict. we disagree with it. he will exercise his rights of appeal. >> reporter: the district attorney says that surveillance video was key to the prosecution of this case and one reason he would like to see even more surveillance cameras throughout the city. castillo faces a mandatory sentence without parole. christinea hager, wbz news. new at 5:00 tonight, we have dramatic video that shows a duck boat ox a boston street. watch as a woman never looks up and then walks right into the path of the vehicle, one of the reason that is we are showing you the video. somehow, she will be okay.

>> reporter: david, this is a busy area with vehicles and people and duck boats and as you said, the woman walked right into the lane. this is not the first of its kind of incident this year. it almost looks like it's in slow motion in the busy dak bay. and as the surveillance video reveals, the woman does not appear to look out at the street or enter the crosswalk befo duck boat on wednesday morning. the accident is just the latest in a series of incidents involving the city touring company this year. first n april, a moped was crushed by a duck boat killing the 28-year-old. after that, boston duck tours installed blind spot cameras in the duck boats. but in july, another woman was struck by a duck boat in back bay. the company said she did not have a crossing signal.

crashed into an overpass. the driver reportedly diverted because beacon hill was blocked off. the duck tours said it's committed to operating safely but pedestrians have to do their part, too. thankfully, this woman suffered non-life threatening injuries. tonight, the fbi is looking for two more people who may have information about the bombings in new yo these two people are not suspects. meanwhile, we are learning new details about the journal that was found on the bombing suspect. kenneth craig is in elizabeth, new jersey tonight. >> reporter: the chairman of the house homeland security committee held up a bloody page from the bombing suspect's journal during the hearing on domestic tour. >> talked about, god willing,

streets, gunshots for police. >> reporter: rahami is facing at least 10 federal charges including use of weapons of a mass destruction and bombing in a public place. >> in the near future, it's our intention to bring the suspect to the jury i guess dicks of the manhattan neighborhood. >> reporter: prosecutors say that they found video that shows rahami appears to be a pipe bomb in his backyard in elizabeth, new jersey earlier this month. investigatorssay it may have been practice for saturday's attacks in manhattan and the jersey shore. the fbi asked for help in locating two people on surveillance video apparently removing an unexploded pressure cooker on saturday, a few blocks from where the other

they are connected. i can't stress enough there are no witnesses. >> reporter: authorities want the suitcase back for everyday. kenneth craig, cbs new, elizabeth, new jersey. now to a developing story at 5:00. charlotte, north carolina has seen more protests after a police officer shot and killed a black man but nothing like what we saw overnight when protesters looted, lit fires, and injured a dozen officers. the charlotte police chief tonight defending his officers saying they gave keith scott warnings to drop his handgun before the officer fired. the officer who shot him was also black. >> the officers gave loud, clear, verbal commands that were heard by many witnesses. they were instructing the subject once he got out of the vehicle to drop a weapon. >> a woman who claims to be scott's daughter said that

policesay they found a gun but no book. meantime in oklahoma, the father of the man killed by tulsa police last week is insisting that his son had his hands up when he was shot. terence crutcher's father, a minister, said his son was taught to put his hands up for police. a 2-year-old was he ran out into the street. neyden tavares is still in the hospital, and so far, no charges have been filed in the case. is jimmy garoppolo well enough to play tomorrow night? steve burton is live at the scene tonight and i can't imagine bill belichick told everyone what's happening.

game but perfect weather. friday is where we start to see some change. we're watching a back-door cold front moving down from northern new england. as we approach lunchtime, temperatures will warm quickly, into the 70s and 80s. as the front moves south, we'll change the wind direction more to the north northwest and as we look to the early afternoon, already in the 60s and low 70s across new hampshire and the sea coast and far northern massachusetts. as we head towarin 50s and 60s are taking over. it will be much cooler by evening and the clouds will be increasing and with this a chance for showers on friday night. so very different weather from breakfast to dinner plannings on friday p lan -- plans on friday evening. we'll start with low clouds on saturday morning and then bring
