it all makes perfect sense. >> it is it. mother nature is a little confused. it is going to feel like summer out there today. it's a cool pleasant start this morning. 63 in boston right now. we are in the mid-50s through the merrimac valley. 51 in concord. 46 in plymouth, new hampshire though. low 60s in wooster. most of us running in the middle to upper 50s. a few wispy clouds. sunrise coming in over a half hour from there. 31 minutes to be exact. it is going to be shining brightly. you want the shades, grab it. solar glare may be the only thing you contend with this morning. the wind is going to be from the south and southeast. a little wind off the ocean. the coastline will be in the upper 70s to around 80. we top out in the mid-80s through the interior today with bright sunshine for the ride home. 70s at the coast. we'll talk about the weekend coming up. let's get you on the roads, good morning. >> good morning. we have a couple of accidents happening out there. we already have one accident

there is another one. this is in arlington, eastbound lines. it's at exit 59 and route 60. three cars are involved in that one. so we'll keep our eye on it. there is also another accident. this is on 24 south in stow ton. it's before exit 20 and route -- route 139. the good news is though it's in the southbound lanes so it shouldn't tie up 24 too much this morning. >> okay thank you very much. we start with breaking news this morning. a state of emergency declared this charlotte, north carolina. the national guard brought in ni violent protests. one ma is in critical condition after being shot by a civilian. >> unrest and reaction to a deadly officer-involved shooting. don champion has the very latest from the charlotte. reporter: the chaos in charlotte stretched well into the overnight hours as protesters faced off with heavily armed officers. tear gas filled the air and at least one flash bang exploded.

the scene played out as anger over the deadly police shooting of keith scott spilled on to the streets for a second night. some demonstrators were arrested peacefully but damage to businesses and stores in charlotte's vibrant uptown area mounted. windows were smashed even as the sports arena. >> justice justify everything. if you give the black man justice, in accordance to the laws of the land there will be no need for this. >> reporter: at one point a man wast civilian, drawing raw emotion from this protester. >> we came out here for peace. this is not how we succeed. i was bipolaring off his -- wiping off his blood. >> reporter: fueling the unrest, the different narratives of what led up to the dental tuesday. >> i want people to know that we are going to make sure that our investigation is thorough and it's transparent. >> reporter: police say the 43 year old ignored repeated

complex but family members insist he was holding a book, not a weapon. don champion, cbs news, charlotte. also breaking overnight, police investigating a deadly motorcycle crash in north andover, crews were on the scene for hours. wbz's nicole jake sobs there with the very latest. nicole. >> reporter: kate, you can see here behind me route 114 is a very busy roadway. this crash happened in the overni tropic -- traffic was completely shut down while investigators were here checking into things and processing this scene. we'll get you right to some video, though of when crews were here on the scene. the crash happened just before 11:00 -- or 11:00 p.m. last night, and while details are still very minimal, this is what north andover fire officials are confirming. one person is dead and two others were taken to lawrence general hospital with injuries. right now, we know at least one

circumstances sur rournding the crash are still un -- surrounding the crash are still unclear and under investigation. taking another live look here on route 114 this is right on the north andover /lawrence line, right near the waverly road area. i can also tell you again one person has died as a result of this crash, two people injured, still under investigation. we'll continue to monitor this situation and bring you the latest details as we get them. north andover lawrence line. nicole jake be 0 oh -- jacobs. breaking news right now in salem, fire tears through a home on me tow street. it started around 2:30 this morning. crews saw heavy flames near the porch in the back of the building. one person was taken to the hospital, four adults have been displaced by that fire. new this morning, another incident of racism being investigated at a local middle school. arlington school's superintendent says two students

one of them started yelling racially charged statements at the other. the parents were notified and punishments were issued. this is the third issue this year. a road oy land man is expected to plead guilty today. prosecutors say nicholas ravinsky and two other men plotted to kill a conservative blogger. he's also accused of trying to recruit i prison. one of the other suspects was killed by police outside of as aren daily cvs last year, david everett is awaiting trial. . right now the search is on for two potential witnesses. these are the two men investigators want to talk to. they say the men took a suitcase they found on the street after removing an undetonated bomb from it. that was the second pressure cooker in chelsea, the bomb that did not go off.

talk to them however because they want that luggage as evidence. and we're also getting a first look at the bloody journal investigators say the bombing suspect ahmad rahimi was carrying when he was captured. they say that notebook is filled with terror-related rambles. rahimi is still in the hospital this morning. we're told he is not cooperating with police. officials say his wife, though, will return to the united states soon. take a look at this, this cell phone video shows rescuers trying to get an group of teenagers. police say those teens stole that land rover and took it on a joyride. it started in jamaica plain yesterday afternoon when a woman called 911 saying the teens stole her sufficient. witnesses tell us police chased the land rover into roxbury. >> when he hit this corner, you can't drive too good, so he just flipped over. >> witnesses say one of the teens jumped out of the suv.

saw in the handcuffs in the video. another teen is in critical condition this morning. new this morning, a vandal attacks a boston landmark, the globe is reporting someone threw a rock through an original stained glass window at the cathedral of the holy cross in the south end. that cathedral is the mother church of the boston archdiocese. and today and tomorrow it will host a relic. a spokesperson tells the globe repairs will cost $3,000. security at gillette stadium. state police say this is in response to the bombings in new york and new jersey. as for the game, though, patriots may be bringing in the back up's back-up tonight. new england scrambling on a new game plan before kick off. so the big question who will be the pats' starting qb come game time, brissett or garoppolo. >> right now only bill belichick have the answer.

62 on nantucket this morning. cool start comfortable start, a few high thin clouds that is about it as you step out jog -- outside the door this morning. sunrise coming up at 6:32. we have leftover moisture from julia. we have some flash flooding ongoing in parts of northern iowa stretching back through wisconsin. what we're waisting on is a cold front in eastern canada. that marks the leading edge of cooler air. it's going to arrive as we head into the start of the webbed. a lot of -- start o weekend. high around 80 at the coastline this afternoon. wind coming off the occasion. 75 to 80 on the cape. we go mid-80s once again through the interior. a couple of spots may even touch 86, 87 today. so well above average but the humidity is staying low. awesome night for thursday night football. it will be sunny warm for start of tailgating. first -- kick off i should say well 25. 72 degrees and then falling back through the 60s, through the duration of the game.

rest of us. 62 downtown with a light southwest breeze. tomorrow, back into the 80s we climb. but there's going to be some changes coming in during the afternoon and evening tomorrow as cooler air comes down from central new england. it's with a cold front so expect sunshine tomorrow morning and then building clouds. a lot of the afternoon at least will be dry. look at the rain, it's actually what we call ante frontal. so the cold front comes in and then the rain showers come in after it. so tomw, get a couple of brief showers, maybe an isolated thunderstorm, it's not going to be all in a widespread. i don't think you need to cancel friday plans but have the umbrella on standby. a couple of showers linger into the overnight along the south coast and then saturday, look at that, high pressure building right on in, so does that cool air. but we're in for plenty of sunshine for the upcoming weekend. if you like the warmth enjoy today and tomorrow. late in the day tomorrow, our temperatures are going to fall back through the 70s.

fall air in place this weekend. 63 on sunday. mid-60s on monday. it's going to be chilly start to the morning, by the way. could be a touch of frost in a couple of communities. the typically cooler spots and then there's there may be a brief shower on tuesday before another little warm up. we should be in the low 70s by wednesday the next week. a couple of accidents you should know about right now. this is i alive look at the three-car crash or what was a three-car crash en route two in arlington. it hand in the eastbound lanes. the left two lanes are s there is some bumper to bumper traffic happening there. so expect those two lanes, two left lanes to be reopening momentarily there. tow truck on the scene. the other crash is on 128 in newton a car went off the road in the northbound lanes at exit 22 at grove street. there's not too much back-up from that crash. but we will keep our eye on it. and we do have some bad news if you use route 128 in the newton, need al area. part of the highway will close for an entire weekend.

presidential debate between hillary clinton and donald trump. you can watch it monday, september 26th at 9:00 p.m. right here on wbz. the department of justice is faulting whee ton college for the way it handled a rain claim. of the school did not respond to the initial report, then it did little to prevent the suspect from contacting his accuser. and it didn't stop retaliation against a different victim, those are all the one-year investigation after a student complained. the school has signed an agreement to change its practices. police searching for a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of software. surveillance video shows the man in the back corner of an unidentified store putting boxes of that software in a shopping bag. police say he got away about more than nine now dollars worth of it. this happened on august 20th if you have any information you're asked to call police. a woman on a collision

surveillance cameras show her walking right off the curb, not even looking and into the path of that duck boat. brianne ma is back with the details. >> this is video interest that deadly duck boat crash back in april. this new crash happened yesterday at the intersection of boylston and arlington streets in boston's busy back bay. it does appear to show the woman not looking at traffic or using a crosswalk. duck boats came under after after a moped was crushed killing a 28 year old woman. installed blind spot cameras but some say nothing can stop poor judgment. >> i see cars -- running in front of them all the time. i see people trying to double park right here on this corner with cars whipping around the corner. >> that woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. this isn't the only duck boat incident since the cameras went in. a duck boat crashed back in august and in july a woman was also hit in back bay.

i'm a public school teacher in massachusetts, and i've reviewed question 2. it will make public education even stronger, because question 2 would allow more access to public charter schools, so parents have more choices for their kids' education, and public charter schools don't take funds away from public education. in fact, question 2 will result in more funding for education in massachusetts.

after a second night of violent protests there. the natural guard was brought in and the this morning one man is in critical condition. police say he was shot by another civilian in the crowd. this unrest is all in response to the death of keith scott who was shot and killed by an officer on tuesday. a deadly motorcycle crash in north andover. it happened near the north andover lawrence line just before 11:00 last night. one person was killed. two others taken to the hospital. no word on theirdi near waverly road were shut down for hours overnight. breaking news in salem, one person rushed to the hospital after a fire burns through a home there. this fire started around 2:30 this morning. at the house on meadow street. you can see the damage theater a porch area near the back of the building. four people have been displaced. investigators now trying to figure out exactly how this

>> prosecutors say nicholas ravinsky and two other men plotted to kill a conservative blogger. he's also accused of trying to recruit isis support from prison. one of the other suspects was killed by police outside of as aren dale cvs. the third suspect is awaiting trial. a rescuer struggled to a lift a suv. police say the teen sold that land rover and took it on a joyride. it started in jamaica plain. witnesses tell chavised that suv into roxbury. but police say it wasn't a chase. witnesses say law -- saw the land rover speed and flip. one teenager is in critical condition. another incidents of racism being investigated at a local middle school. the superintendent says two students got into a fight at a middle school last week. one of them started yelling racially charged statements at the other. their parents were notified and punishments were issued. this is the third incident this year involving racism.
