talk about jimmy g. >> it looks like it will be next week or the week after. also, let's talk about rob gronkowski. there is a ton of speculation on whether rob will play or not. there are positive signs saying rob is going to play. first and foremost, he's been telling his teammates all week long that he's going to play. then we have the video of him out to practice in full pads. no reason to come out for a walk through in fall gronk tells us why he had to wear the full pads. >> i haven't been in full pads in a while. i felt like i wanted to get used to it. it weighs more weight than having nothing on, so it's part of the training process. obviously, i wasn't allowed to wear them. so no big deal. i just like the feel. you want the feel of your shoulder pads when you haven't been in them that much. >> you know this wasn't working. >> reporter: looks like he

11:00ish. >> we're going to be down here on "the early shows." for all of the day's news, we send it back to the studios with liam and paula. breaking news in stoughton, there's been a shooting at a cv cvs. we have not confirmed whether anyone has been shot. you can see the front of the store is blocked off. we have a crew on the way. we'll bring it to you as now at 5:00 a first degree manslaughter charge has been filed against the white tulsa, oklahoma police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black man. that shooting caught on dash cam and aerial video clearly showed terrence crutcher with his arms in the air before shots were fired. officer betty shelby's attorney says she opened fire when he began to reach into his suv.

now to a developing story, the protests and anger after a police shooting in charlotte. the family of the black man shot and killed by police there will see video of that shooting sometime later tonight. >> the family's attorney says keith lamont scott's waif saw her husband be shot and killed. the city is under a state of right now. >> reporter: after watching control in downtown charlotte, authorities are hoping the national guard and highway patrol will maintain order tonight. >> we have a full complement of our civil emergency unit ready to continue working to prevent violent crime. >> reporter: wednesday's violent protests left businesses damaged and looted. two officers and nine civilians were injured. a civilian was shot in the head

>> we're reviewing individual yes have. allegations were made that one of our officers might have been involved p. keith scott is a 42- year-old black man who officers say refused to put down his gone. scott's family and witnesses say he was holding a book. police say they will show body camera video of the incident to scott's family. even after several violence and report daniel, damage. >> this family does not want to see individualsinging injured or killed. they do support citizens and their right to voice their frustrations. >> reporter: the city says it's ready. kenneth craig, cbs news, charlotte, north carolina.

pedestrians and lost control of his bike was killed seconds later when he was hit by a car and that car never stopped. beth germano is live in lawrence with the story tonight. beth? >> reporter: about 12:30 this morning, route 114 behind me wasn't nearly this busy when the accidents occurred one after the other. a methuen man was killed. now police are looking for the public's help to find the driver who struck him the scene. >> an excellent neighborhood. >> reporter: john breaks down recalling his neighbor, 64- year-old william biccford killed early this morning when he was struck by a car as he rode his motorcycle just after midnight. >> if i needed a hand, he came over to give mae a hand. he was that kind of person.

series of events. he struck two vehicles, lost control of his motorcycle and then a car known as a black mercedes struck him and took off. >> you would assume you know when you strike someone. we're not sure. they didn't stop money. >> reporter: run say says his name often rode his motorcycle to work. together what happened here. the male and female pedestrians in their 20s are seriously injured. now john hopes whoever was behind the wheel of the car that took the life of his neighbor does the right thing. >> i'd like to see the person that did it, you know, go to the police and say, i'm sorry. i didp. it was an accident, and i panicked. >> reporter: still what touched

as we start the day, it's gorgeous again. by mid-day, we're seeing clouds move down from the north. we'll have the warm temperatures initially, and then the wind swings around to the north-northeast. with that, the temperatures really start to fall. we'll also have a chance for a couple of showers into tomorrow evening. if you have friday night plans, it will feel very different outside. before that happens, head to the beach. water temperatures are starting to slide slowly back. many areas temps in the 60s. in terms of rain, as we head ma tomorrow afternoon and evening, clouds increase, a few showers. you might even get a rumble of thunder but i'm not expecting a lot out of this front. it's moving offshore by saturday morning. that will bring in cool air for saturday and sunday. if you are a fall traditionalist, this weekend will be for you. bright skies come along with it. when it comes to humidity, it

fascinating brissett is going to get the start. garoppolo is not even going to dress. he suffered an a.c. shoulder strain in the second quarter and never returned. he is apparently not red to go. as for rob gronkowski, all signs point to a big tight end of the regular season. the owner robert kraft thinks he's playing. he said that would be wise to think that way. gronk hasn't been on the field since an injure last month. gronk did not play last week after getting injured in the opener. we all know how the patriots handle injuries. it's always, always close to the vest. patriots are looking to go 3-0. paula, that's the story. back to you. >> thanks so much.
