overnight as well. no word on a suspect but emergency officials tell us the victim was taken to the hospital. to a developing story this monday morning a. young man missing at sea is found safe two days after the coast guard called off the search. >> he was founding in a raft. let's get to anna meiler leave along the boston harbor with the latest for us. >> reporter: and chris that 22- year-old is on a freighter expected to arrive in boston tomorrow. at sea. after a week of searching for linda and nathan carman the coast guard called off the search for the mother and son who went fish be on a -- fishing trip. >>i don't know what to think or do. you know. i can't go out looking for them. >> reporter: sharon says linda and her son who has autism go fishing together every year.

leaving on their trip on saturday september 17th. >> she just says you know, about when they are going out and where they are headed and what time they expect to be back. >> reporter: they were supposed to return 8 days ago but never did. the coast guard launched a search scouring more than 62,000 square nautical miles from south of block island to the canyons off new york. but linda and nathan were nowhere to be found. then yesterday, about a week after they disappeared, a freighter spotted 22-year-old nathan on a life ra vineyard. family and friend are holding out hope they will find his mother. >> hopefully people will be on a look out for a ship that's drift organize a raft. or -- drifting or a raft. >> reporter: nathan is in good condition. boat they were fishing on is a 32 foot boat called the chicken pox of the reporting live along the boston harbor anna meiler wbz. a house fire killed four people including a little boy

police when fire crews arrived on her ridian street -- meridian street the house was engulfed in flames. brian tower was a victim. his wife her son and their 5- year-old grandson died in the early morning fire. >> i woke up and heard somebody screaming outside and looked out and a little boy he was adorable and we saw him all summer hanging with dad in the backyard. it's heart breaking. >> firefighters are ve grief counselors will be at grafton schools following the tragic deaths of the 5-year-old boy. officials say the child was hit by a car near his home on samuel drive yesterday afternoon. they have not released the names of the boy or driver but say this appears to be an accident. according to the worcester telegram the boy was a kindergarten student. state police are investigating a deadly hit-and- run in medford. alberto santos flores of somerville was hit on route 16

5:30 yesterday morning. police have not released information yet on the vehicle that hit. this morning a woman is recovering after being shot by police in weymouth. >> officials explain why they say the officer was forced to fire. wbz nicole jacobs is live with the details for us this morning. nicole. >> reporter: that 46-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon because police say she refused orders to drop the knife she was holding. she is at south shore hospital for the gunshot wound she received from police. chaos in weymouth sunday morning on keene avenue a police officer firing his officer shooting a 46-year-old woman. >> i came running out and i am like i seen her and she was laying on the ground like her shirt was ripped opened and she had blood right here. >> reporter: a 911 call brought them here a mother claiming her adult daughter was threatening to kill herself with the large

weapon in hand. weymouth police released a statement reading in part, the officer was forced to back away towards the street and the suspect followed him brandishing the knife ignoring his orders to drop the knife. >> the bullet went in like somewhere around here and went out the back. >> reporter: the shooting is at a time when police have fallen under scrutiny because of fatal shoot, elsewhere. >> i don't understand why it couldn't be diffused and i am emotional because i don't th am not in his shoes. >> reporter: it brings high emotion from neighbors live this man who asked not to be identified. >> i would be in jail right now with cuffs i wouldn't be where he probably is which is either home at police station getting codeled he might feel bad but that's too bawd bad he should it's amazing she didn't get killed. >> reporter: police have not identified the officer involved in the shooting.

investigation by weymouth police, state police and the district attorney's office. live in weymouth. nicole jacobs wbz this morning. >> thanks very much. an investigation is also underway in the deadly police shooting in new hampshire. cody lafont was shot before 5 yesterday morning when officers responded to a call at home in clairmont. police say they are investigating the serkss-- circumstances that led up to the shooting an autopsy will determine exactly the cause of d after being stabbed in a late night brawl two stabbed in theneck it happened near a bus stop on treemont on boston theater district. several clubs were letting out sunday morning when witnesses say between 20 and 30 people started to fight. a tufts parking garage worker saw the whole thing. >> i see fights you know it happens with the nightclubs but, that was pretty wild and crazy. there was yelling and i couldn't make out anything. you know, couldn't even tell who was fighting who really it

on five counts of first-degree murder was arrested after nearly 24 hours of looking for him. he was reportedly in a near zombie like state when captured walking down a street. police have yet to find the motive behind the shooting. the curfew in charlotte north carolina has been lifted. the midnight to 6 a.m. curfew went into effect friday following protests over the deadly shooting of keith lamont scott. he was shot by police last tuesday and died. authorities say scott had a gun when he got out of his vehicle. his death led to and demonstrations that turned violent at times. this weekend police released the video of the body cameras that video of the incident. smoke billowing from tanker ship in the gulf mexico and one of the tankers carrying 170,000 barrels of oil caught on fire. the good news is no one was hurt. mexican navy rescued 31 people on board. now crews are trying to estimate how much fuel spilled into the gulf. 5:19. president obama will be teaming
