never fight back. theysay it's just not worth the risk of injury. at police headquarters, christina hager, wbz news. a woman is dead after a house fire in fitch burg. flames broke out on cottage street and a 53-year-old was pulled in her home but she later died. investigatorssay that the fire was caused by pellets for a pellet stove stored too close to the water heater basement. also in fitchburg, flames broke out at an abandoned burning and burned off the roof. school was canceled at a nearby middle school. and a neighbor placed on house arrest is upsetting neighbors. his house is condemned meaning he is living in a van in the driveway. >> and the town is trying to avoid being stuck with the

consumers upset over what was found hidden. water can get trapped in the rubber gasket on the door of a front loader leading to mold, and now, class action lawsuits against many front-load manufacturers are settling. if you bought a whirlpool, kenmore, or maytag front loading machine, you could entitled to a cash reimbursement or an lg between 2002 and 20036, you could receive $35 or a cash rebate on your front loader. you must opt into the lawsuits by october. if you have another brand, there are class actions pending against some of the other manufacturers. ginger allen for cbs news, dallas. two people who used to work at wells fargo say they were fired for doing the right thing

the pair has filed a class action lawsuit for $2.6 billion or more. wells fargo is in the middle of a scandal where workers were under such intense pressure to meet sales goals, many opens accounts without customers' permission. wells fargo dein may not be coming to our area yet. the state has placed restrictions in the ice cream. anyone who incorporates wine, beer, or spirits must file for a special exemption from the federal government regardless of how much alcohol is used. >> something told me they were going to pump the brakes on that one before it showed up in your grocery store. balloons grounded. coming up why several

i just want what's best for my kids. when i hear arguments that massachusetts needs more charter schools, i think: what about the students in all of our schools? every new charter takes away more money from the existing public schools. that's 400 million dollars, just last year. we can't afford to drain even more money from our kids' schools because they're already losing so much. i'm fighting for yours, too.

a church van slipped on a south carolina highway injuring a dozen people. this crash happened as the van collided with a truck on interstate 85 this morning. 5 of those hurt are in critical condition. authorities believe it was heading out on a day trip. the weather air out of a popular balloon festival. >> storms grounded the plano, texas show. the giant hot air balloons were able to inflate but never took flight. >> my favorite is when i can see the air go in. >> if you can't go, you can't go. i get it. >> unfortunately, the balloons were never able to make it off the ground over the weekend. organizerssay they have to make that the safety for pilots and

concern. uh, yeah. not a good idea. speaking of which, we are having our own weather after weeks and weeks of beautiful weather. >> you had to grab a sweater or fleece. and it actually went below freezing for a couple of hours. our coldest start to the day going back to may, and now, changes, a gloomier stretch of weather setting up, and we have not said that for months and months and months and starts tomorrow morning with showers after the commute and we will it won't be gray all day, but wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, and maybe sunday, unsettled for the rest of this week and a lot of clouds and drizzle and bouts of showers here and there, and not overall drought relief. maybe 1 to 2" from tomorrow's rain through sunday. it will add up overtime but we would like to see 4, 5, 6". that would be beneficial. this evening, gorgeous in the 60s and bright sunshine.

will thicken for the overnight, a big cold front stretched out across the country and will deliver rainfall for the start of our day tomorrow. looking at it hour by hour and fall back into the 50s and not nearly as chilly with a southerly breeze that would be gusty towards the coast. we will most likely see drizzle through the commute time so make sure you plan ahead and the steadiest, heaviest rainfall in the best chance for a couple of heavier downpours towards the south coast and the cape and island. the sun will break out and we'll be in the low 70s and then manage clear skies for a bit. in terms of rain totals, scattered showers, rain here and there, but not a big soaking event. the best chance for higher end totals towards cape cod and the islands. we look at this week, an area

coastline. wednesday, we can see the clouds filling back in, clouds and showers and gray and damp and no appreciable rain. and we will stay damp with northeasterly winds but we don't get very heavy rain. as we get into the weekend, a final push of showers and rainfall should move through on saturday and a lingering shower on sunday, the last day of the stretch of weather for us. in terms of tomorrow, good odds, and then wednesday, showers and drizzle and spotty and you want an umbrella close by. i want to say we have a couple of doubts of downpours. a neat trick here, it might depend on your perspective. if it rains the rest of this week a little bit, it would be 17 days and still not managing
