a truck caught fire under power lines this afternoon and some people in the area wound up losing electricity. we have learned that a worker was on the train tracks when he backed into a telephone pole. the worker is okay tonight. and most of the power has been lingering outages. a grand jury has indicted a massachusetts state trooper after a high-speed chase and violent arrest. >> joseph flynn is facing assault charges. flynn and andrew monaco were caught on camera as you can see, hitting and kicking a man after a police case that went on for an hour. monaco has already pleaded

it's gray and some people feel it's crummy. >> i feel the same way. a colleague was getting coffee and i was like this is going to be a terrific walk. it sure is. it was nice and mild and certainly we had rain putting people in better spirits but decent rainfall showers and the highest total towards the cape and the island. and nantucket picked up .75". boston below 2" on days, days with a trace but we haven't had the big rain event in the city. we have seen the clearing from the west and sunset alert issued tonight. we could have another beautiful sunset across the area but we are watching changes. this is going to be the main weather feature for the rest of the week, a big area of low pressure that will cut off from the jet stream and block everything up. similar weather with days on end. temperatures with the sun

the low 70s. and we'll fall back into the mid-50s overnight and low clouds will return overnight and spotty areas of drizzle will form and winds turning to the north and east and brings in atlantic moisture. the next couple days, mostly cloudy skies, not expecting a lot of significant rain wednesday or thursday and the farther north you go over the next couple days, the brighter the skies will central new hampshire, maine, northern new hampshire, vermont, more sunshine although we'll mainly be in the clouds here for the next couple days. tomorrow, winds off the water and we'll be in the upper 50s to low 60s, so a cool day and the winds will be stronger, 10 to 20 miles per hour from the northeast and gusts at the coast could be up to 30 miles per hour and add an extra chill to the air with the same thing

fortunately, tides are low. not expecting coastal flooding. and atlantic ocean is the ultimate temperature equalizer. we'll have pretty much the same tie temp every day through sunday, many towns not change anything more than 8 degrees through sunday, kind of a seattle weather pattern. then a chance of actual rain and a chance to put a dent in the drought. friday, a good chance of showers moving through and saturda showers moving through. and a couple of lingering showers on sunday but it does not look like a washout. so a little drizzle for the next couple and friday, heavy showers and saturday brings the overall highest chance to see the beneficial rain and i want to talk about the tropics. it's an interest of interest, not a tropical depression yesterday, high confidence in the forecast due west in the next 5 days and bet it south of
