then there are documents from connecticut where nathan carmen was the last person known to be with his grandfather the night before he was shot to death. a search warrant says family members were so afraid of nathan they hired armed private security to protect their home. police submitted a murder warrant for him two years ago but prosecutors said they needed more information. and now this strange turn of events. >> let me just say this. there is no way he would ever injure either one of them. >> when nathan carmen also told the ap today that once his boat began taking on water, it sank within a matter of minutes. police now in south kingstown, rhode island where this trip started are investigating whether the ordeal at sea warns any charges. christina hager, wbz news. to breaking news out of

investigators are now saying that a teenager apparently killed his father before shooting to students and a teacher at an elementary school. we know that one child is in critical condition, the other student and teacher are listed in good condition. this all happened in townsville, south carolina near the georgia line. the teenage suspect is in custody. lisa? campaign 2016 tonight. hillary clinton is in boston right now for a fundraiser. earlier she was at the university of new hampshire with former political rival bernie sanders. this move. analysts say the rally underscores clinton's need to connect with younger voters. >> when you have republicans telling us that it is okay to give tens and tens of billions of dollars in tax breaks to the richest people in this country, do not tell me that we cannot afford to make public colleges

you all don't turn out and vote. >> a monmouth university poll showed clinton 9 points ahead of trump in new hampshire. a closer look at both of the presidential candidates student loan plans. hillary clinton's plan provides free tuition at community colleges, free tuition at in- state public colleges for students whose families make less than 85,000, lower interest rates on student loans, and then college debt would be forgiven after 20 years. meantime, donald trump has not laid out a detailed plan yet but according to his website, he wants to give universities tax breaks and tax money to reduce the cost of college and student debt. he also wants to make it easier for students to attend and pay for college and technical schools. trump is going to rally supporters in bedford, new hampshire tomorrow afternoon. today he was in chicago trying to appeal to that city's polish- american community. he promised to work with: and to strengthen nato and trump

possessing up to one ounce in public. it would also create a commission to oversee licensed parts stores. according to the poll, 700 likely voters, 53 percent of them, support recreational pot with 40 percent opposing it and seven percent still undecided. support for legal pot is consistent across almost all demographic groups with the exception of conservatives and voters over age 55. but the battle of the question for is far from over , according to the associate director of the polls. >> asking the simple question, do you support legalization of marijuana, leads to majority level of support, but if you ask people to think about it, i think they may have some reservations. >> and look at what voters said when read a list of potential impacts. 61 percent said it would bother them if they saw people using pot in public. 52 percent said they would like to see ads for pot on tv or billboards, and more than four

special interests that oppose question 2 claim district schools lose money to charter schools. that's "absurd," says the boston herald. "outright lies," reports the lowell sun. charter schools "don't siphon off state dollars" from traditional schools, says the boston globe. in fact, public schools get more money. the truth is question 2 will give parents more choices and result in more funding for public education. please vote yes on question 2.

years now to the day that a six- year-old boy banished in lynn. he was out walking up a time it happened. >> police have never close to the investigation into the disappearance of jesus de la cruz. liam martin joins us with new images of what he might look like today. with his anniversary, police are launching a new push for information about jesus' disappearance. all these years later, his body still never located. >> it's been 20 years. you know, we don't know. >> 20 years ago today six-year- old jesus de la cruz disappeared. >> i feel so stressed. i couldn't sleep last night. >> his mother in 1996, a day after that disappearance, desperate for answers. >> everybody's looking for him. i can't do anything. i don't know what else to do. >> he was last seen walking on fox street.

if you know anything, you are asked to call police. also today, investigators in western massachusetts released sketches of a suspect in another unsolved case. the abduction and murder of a middle school teacher in agawam. authorities use dna research to come up with this image of her possible killer. the 1992 case where she was grabbed at her day-after-day of cloudy weather but not enough rain to add up to anything. >> every morning i wake up, the driveway is wet, but not enough rain to do anything to the drought. >> if you look at the calendar here, this is for the city of boston. it varies from town to town. most days have featured rain like today.

about 2 inches below average rain for the month. that soaking rainfall still a tall order for us. we do have the chill and the clouds and we've got the 50s out there. very raw day with northeasterly winds. the clouds sucked in. a little bit of clearing late day across southern new hampshire, maine, and getting into essex county as well providing a glimpse of the sunshine out there. and then we have the swirling area of low pressure that's works over the next few days. eventually that will bring us rainfall toward the weekend. for tonight, patchy drizzle, mist and fog. tomorrow will bring an opportunity for some sunshine. i

clouds and the damp, misty feel. into the afternoon, should get drier air working from the north, so especially from portland across new hampshire into northern massachusetts, we should break into the sun and manage low 60s. most areas south of the pike stay in the clouds throughout the day tomorrow. it's been breezy today and we'll be breezy tonight. as we move toward friday, the wind turns a little more easterly than northeasterly, and that's going to also increase, so will have a gusty friday. with that, the chance of rain moving in. with these days of onshore flow, the surf is rather nasty. if you're heading out and friday is the chance for actual rain, not just missed. showers should be developing toward friday afternoon and evening and our best overall chance for rainfall is still looking like saturday. i think this is where we could see significant rain in the area. sunday, scattered showers, cool and gray. an extra cup of coffee or tea pattern that we are in here. a little mist tomorrow morning. by the second half of friday bringing the chance of showers

saturday and sunday. how much are we talking? the best chance for a soaking rain is in southeastern massachusetts. the biggest totals will be across the cape and the islands. we might even see more than 2 inches of rain there. north and west, a half inch or one inch of rain. maybe we will get lucky and things over chief. a lot of cloud cover and some scattered showers for the patriots, but not a washout day. this is tropical storm matthew moving its way westward toward jamaica. that's a high confidence forecast as a hurricane. after that, a lot of spread as to where this will go. no solid idea as to where exactly it's going to head next week. imminent danger is there. the bahamas and florida on alert. keeping a close eye on it. the east coast just watching. there's a long time to keep tabs on nephew and where it might end up. with those temps near 60, all the way through the weekend and 50s at night. not a ton of sunshine. when it pops out tomorrow afternoon for a bit, we'll enjoy
