. tonight, stronger, hurricane matthew now a category 5. the party, a weekend celebration for david ortiz and he brought the fireworks. an iteam investigation saving for retirement only to have bureaucratic red tape get in the way, what you need to know. live from the channel 4 studios in boston, this is wbz news at 11:00. breaking right now at 11:00, hurricane matthew no longer a category 4 moments ago the dangerous storm got upgraded to a category 5. that latest advisory coming in just moments ago, we're talking about a very powerful storm. wbz meteorologist pamela gardner is live in the weather center, watching all this, you just got that new information. yes national hurricane center giving it the ranking of a category 5 which is the strongest ranking you can get for a hurricane the last time we had a category 5 in the

named the category 5 in september of '07. max winds, 160 miles per hour moving west at 7 miles per hour as this continues to track to the west but then it will start to take a turn to the north now and as it does it is going to stay as a category 4 perhaps moving through jamaica they do have hurricane watches out at this time. by monday night moving passed jamaica towards the bahamas as ca gotten a little bit wider some of the forecast models putting this storm a little bit further west and that could mean we may have the potential for seeing some of the effects here in new england. we'll keep you up to date on that i'm tracking rain for tonight and tomorrow how much rain we could see in a bit. tonight's rain didn't

storm and that's where we got the information okay now it is a category 5 they bring back vital information as they continue to track this storm across the caribbean, that's just a fascinating picture there you can see the pinwheel shape and the center of the eye getting very well defined here, over the next several days here as this tracks along the caribbean there is the eye center right there, it is well defined, absolutely this is a very dangerous storm and the last time we had a category 5 was felix back in 2007, max winds for matthew 160 miles per hour moving west at 7 miles per hour, we anticipated to stay as a category 5 but downgrade to a category 4 moving just passedjamaica by 8
