studios in boston. this is wbz news at 11:00. we begin with a developing story about one state officials sudden resignation i'm ken mccloud. state are looking into what matthew sisk was doing with a state vehicle when he didn't want to sit in traffic. live in boston tonight our reporter joins us. >> ken, state police are investigating charges that a state used emergency lights and sirens numerous times to get through traffic. now a top member of the dcv out. once again accused of abusing his position. sitting in traffic was apparently not what matthew sisk was willing to do in the seaport district. a state report found he used his licensed sirens on a state vehicle. this is not the first time sisk

david runs the institute at sufficient fok university -- suffolk university. >> sisk and his boss commissioner leo roy used dcr resources and staff for a private july third party. they were suspended without pay for a week. >> the take away is that it's been a haven for party regulars loyal some might say hacks and the experience that charlie baker has had with this guy is not untypical. >> baker appointed sitzing to the $-- appointed sisk to the $112,000 gig and endorsed him for a seat on the committee. governor bakers's office released a statement saying they were disappointed. >> it will have a negative impact.

big papi, but the playoffs are ahead and hopefully he will create more history then. jim smith wbz news. some other news tonight. crews had a hard time fighting a dorm fire at dartmouth college. they responded just after midnight and found flames burning through the roof. about 70 students immediate their way to safety. officials say it was tough because of the height and the copper roofing material. students can't live in no word yet on the cause. melrose police are investigating a pedestrian accident that happened at about 5:30 this morning on lynn street. paramedics took a 51-year-old melrose man to the hospital with serious injuries. the driver did stop and is cooperating with police. two people were shot outside a function hall in dedham overnight. police responded at about 1:30 this morning. both men are expected to

police cleared a large crowd from the event inside and interviewed several people. so far no araess. -- arrests. also in dedham a driver in the hospital after crashing into a house on the west roxbury line. the truck missed a woman by a few feet. steve burton reports on what might have caused the accident. >> don say he was in the shower when he heard the crash. >> it went through a wall, a co back. >> i'm numb. >> numb because his wife was in the bedroom when the truck drove through it. >> it pushed everything over fortunately she was on the other side. >> police say the crash happened around 8:00 in the morning in dedham. it took out the front brick wall and caused damage to his home. >> i'm astounded by the amount of damage. >> it's all pushed in.

strewn all over the place. >> don says the driver of the truck was his neighbor who live as few houses away. we're unclear how he got enough speed to go through the brick wall. he fears he may have had some type of medical condition. >> he might have passed out at the wheel i don't know. he has a lot of medical issues. >> i hope the gentleman is okay as well who's driving the truck. >> don and his wife have lived here 45 years completed renovating the home. >> thank god everybody is safe. >> police are investigating. no charges have been filed. the driver was take on the the hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries. two people head to court on monday after police found heroin, cocaine, and cash. they went with a search warrant this morning and arrested the two.

zone. a road is closed in needham tonight after a water main break created a sinkhole there. a pickup truck got stuck in it. this is south street near charles river street. crews are still working to repair. investigators have interviewed the engineer of that commuter train that crashed in new jersey on thursday. a woman on the platform was killed and more than 100 hurt. >> after months of concern about a leadership vacuum federal regulators launched a deep audit. they discovered dozens of safety violations. they were getting ready to implement safety measures prior to to accident. new jersey transit did not respond to our request for comment. thomas ducked into the garage

>> investigators have found no sign of troubles with the track or train signals. campaign 2016 begins with the new york times reporting that donald trump declared such a huge loss on his 1995 tax return that he might have legally avoided paying taxes for the next 18 years. the paper says it received his returns in the mail and they've been verified by his former tax lawyer. yo has declined to release his tax returns. trump's attorneys have threaten threatened legal action against the newspaper for illegally accomplishing the documents. other news from brook silva. >> at a rally of reporters saturday in pennsylvania donald trump brought attention to leaked recordings of hillary clinton speaking about young

a 6-year-old boy has died after that school shooting in south carolina. jacob hall had been in the hospital since the shooting on wednesday at the townville elementary school. another student and a teacher were also hit when a 14-year- old boy opened fire on the playground. they are recovering. the young suspect is also charged with killing his new information about the peabody youth football and cheering league. financial records have been turned over to police. the president, jacqui pence, was forced to resign amid allegations she mishandled money. after our report on tuesday pence sent a letter to parents acknowledging the problem but did not shed light on the growing controversy. if you are a wheel watcher here's your chance to win big.

moving north-northwest at seven miles per hour. it's going to continue in a northerly track. it's heading towards jamaica and haiti. the national hurricane center has a watch on for cuba too. and the rain threat, crazy. crazy rain threat here. haiti could see an isolated 40 inches of rainfall. dangerous mudlieds. tons of rain. also the storm surge is something we're going to watch as well. as this continues to track to the north it will be a category three monday evening. 125 pile per hour winds -- mile per hour winds. trending a little farther east. tuesday night it will continue towards the bahamas more of an easterly track and the cone of uncertainty does not include any part of florida which is good news.
