crisis counselors at various monday schools today following the death of 5 students killed in a wrong way crash. friends say the teens were on their way home from a concert when a wrong way driver slammed into their car on interstate 89. their car caught fire and while an officer tried to put out the flames police say the driver stole the officer's cruiser causing a second crash hitting 8 cars on the same stretch of highway.

tropical storm nicole has 6-mile per 60-mile per hour winds right now. they'll have to keep an eye on nicole officer the next couple of days. it will likely turn into a category 1 hurricane. it will continue its track off the northeast out to sea. it's one we're going to watch over the next several days. that beneficial rain did come through boston. that is the most we've had in the day since september 30th of last year. it has been a while the last time we had an inch or more in a day was back on may 30th. so it's been a while since we had a soaking rain for the day and it puts us above average for the month of october so far in terms of precipitation. 54 in boston right now, worcester 51. mid-50s from the south shore back down to the cape.

the air. it's gusty out there. a bit of a bluster feel for sure sure. the winds may gust occasionally that's why we have a wind advisory that's up. other than that sun is shining. at least it's a beauty of looking day. a couple clouds left over on the cape and those clouds too will diminish over the next several hours. not a whole l where's the snow check it out montana. we don't have to worry about that type of winter weather. we are actually going to see a warming trend over the next several days. plenty of sunshine through the rest of the day today, clear skies chilly tonight, sunshine tomorrow awesome looking tuesday, a few clouds tuesday night into wednesday, quiet through the middle part of the week and we start to get a south, southwest wind.

i just want what's best for my kids. when i hear arguments that massachusetts needs more charter schools, i think: what about the students in all of our schools? every new charter takes away more money from the existing public schools. that's 400 million dollars, just last year. we can't afford to drain even more money
