one person on board killed. the plane's owner, recovering in a hospital burn unit. and according to the ntsb, the crash was the result of an intentional about. >> it sounded like a 4th of july. the deep bang, like my whole insides shook. >> reporter: marcus sherman says he heard the engine running until the point of impact. and then the president of american eagle credit union says the crash survivor ran into the lobby burning. >> and he just kind of barged into the space and was in shock ob so they dealt with him as quickly as they could. >> reporter: they took down a utility pole knocking out pow tore businesses. >> very scary to see that go down. >> reporter: about three and a half hours away, authorities, including the fbi, went into a hartford apartment building. the investigators were in the home of a group of young flight school students. >> i'm sad it is a neighbor of ours. >> reporter: what do you think of all of this activity?

it is unclear who was in control of the plane. >> being a twin engine aircraft, there are two sets of controllers in such a plane and either one of the two occupants at any time have the ability to control that plane. >> reporter: that source close to the investigation says the other person on board killed was student pilot who was disgruntled and there was an argument in the cockpit before the plane we the police tell us there was no black box to recover. in east hartford, christina hager, wbz news. auto relief today for the south end community when the police arrested this man who covered his face in court. they say he broke into a south end apartment, tied up two women and raped one of them. >> beth germano is live with the details on this case. >> reporter: the police say he has a history of violent assaults and was living at a boston homeless shelter when

alleged to sent. the police say he made a mistake that led to his quick arrest. he was allowed to shield his face in court, but this is the 52-year-old ronald brown on the state sex offender registry. a level three convicted rape itself who the police say broke into a south end apartment early tuesday morning and violently attacked two women to the shock of the neighborhood. >> that is really the scary part of it because you k not. >> this is shocking in such a populated and well lit area. >> reporter: the police say brown tied up both women and blindfolded and gagged one before raping her. allegedly yelling i hate chinese people and if you yellly kill you. they later found him at the pine street inn. his court appointed attorney made only a brief comment. >> there are significant issues

court. >> reporter: the police say it was hours before they were notified about the attack because the victim went to her job at a local hospital before telling anyone what happened. but the arrest in less than 24 hours a relief for everyone. >> i think that comforts everybody knowing he was caught so quickly. >> reporter: now, the police say he was wearing the distinctive camouflage pants that the victims remember. they say he also stole their cell phones and laptops and demanded the pass codes before he fled. he is now be bail. there will be a hearing on friday. reporting live from boston. i'm beth germano, wbz news. also tonight, the boston police are hoping you will recognize the man in these photos. this happened saturday afternoon near fitzgerald park in mission hill. the victim told police that the man came up from behind, pushed her to the ground and tried to sexually assault her before taking off. you see this photo. he was later seen riding a mountain bike toward huntington

moments after being released from a hospital a homeless man stole an ambulance from the cambridge hospital. the suspect was charged with stealing a vehicle and driving without a license no one was hurt, but the witnesses say when goss was stopped, he took his foot off the brake. the ambulance lunged forward and hit a police cruiser. tonight, two firefighters are recovering after battling this fire at the hampton beach casino. authorities tell us the flames broke out urchin restaurant which is inside the casino. fortunately the fire was contained to just the restaurant but there was smoke damage to the ballroom. the two firefighters suffered minor injury and they are expected to be okay. the cause of the fire is under investigation. and tom brady is back on top. named the afc offensive player of the week today and it is almost as if you'd never know tom was out for four games. steve burton is here with more.
