studios in boston this is wbz news at 11:00. we begin with breaking news. police are looking for the gunmen who wounded a 2-year-old in roxbury this afternoon while trying to shoot the father. the dad is a gang member and is not cooperating. i'm ken macleod. police say a bullet went through the child's hand and into her leg. headquarters. >> police say they're working every angle to make an arrest. >> i heard one pop and i was like is that a gunshot? and then bang bang bang. >> gun fire in -- gunfire in broad daylight striking a 2- year-old girl. boston police say the bullet went through her hand and leg. >> the baby appears to be fine.

obviously she's crying but she's alert. >> she was with her father who police say was the intended target. >> obviously the father here is a known gang kid to us who also is not telling us the truth of what happened. it's unfortunate. >> a remote takeoff. >> investigators say the suspect with a beard was driving a motor scooter when he opened fire. city councilman is the public's help. >> absolutely unacceptable that a young person in broad daylight in their neighborhood can't just be a child. a 2-year-old should never be in harm's way. >> this as the neighborhood demands a change. >> i was here about unfortunately about ten days ago when we had another senseless homicide over here on dearborn. little kids on the school bus.

>> the candidates face off for the final debate on wednesday. live coverage begins at 9:00 p.m. on wbz. in arlington today crews pulled a woman's car from spy pond. just yesterday good samaritans jumped in to save her from the sinking vehicle. steve burton spoke with one of those -- barry burbank spoke with -- steve burton spoke one >> cesar perozo remembers the scene of a dramatic rescue friday as as the -- as the car is removed he remembers seeing helen joyce driving her car into the water. >> she put it in drive and hit the gas. >> i grabbed her hand. >> he says he saw hnry banging on her -- henry banging on her window. with the car drifting away he was the first many the water.

water was pouring into the car. >> you got to come out. you got to. >> he barely grabbed her by one hand to pull her away from the vehicle which quickly sank about 40 feet. >> the force was so strong that she was literally got ripped out of my hands and i wasn't able to hold on to her. >> somebody had to help save her. >> two other rescuers dan frazier and kenneth chapman also swam out to help. this was it. she didn't think she was going to live. >> it took all three to bring her to shore. she was treated for mild hypothermia and taken to the hospital. >> we had a short prayer and then they took her away. >> i can say the good lord was with her. >> she's recovering in the hospital and says he wants to thank her rescuers personally. >> we were here at the right time and she's alive, so we

russia, saudi arabia and others was good. a shooting inside a los angeles restaurant has left three dead and 12 wounded. one suspect is in custody and police are looking for at least two more. people were celebrating something when the bullets started flying. police are trying to figure out if any of the victims were to blame for the shooting. hundreds of firefighters the wind is fuelling the flames which have destroyed 22 homes north of carson city. someone reported it yesterday. it has grown to five square miles and threatens many buildings. it's 5% contained at this point. extensive flooding in oregon as the rem mantes of a typhoon -- as the remnants of a typhoon gather offshore.

an hour. >> fierce winds are whipping through the pacific north west as the most potent part of this system comes on shore. an ef-2 tornado with 125 mile per hour winds tore through the town of manzanita oregon downing power lines and damaging homes and businesses. phil saw it happen. >> it looked like the wizard ofz that's what it looked like. things were just moving like this. then you could see the trees snapping like twigs. >> in portland streets turned into rivers as several inches of rain flooded parts of the city. seattle has had more rainfall in the past two days than it got in the previous three months combined. this monster of a storm system is the remnants of a powerful typhoon. it has walloped washington and

tens of thousands have lost power and fallen trees have caused injuries. >> we heard this loud thump. >> stella's car was crushed by a tree in her work parking lot. in olympic national park 40 kids and 6 adults were rescued. >> the wind is expected to howl here tonight in what could be a historic windstorm. all day forecasters have been telling people to get their preparations done while they have time. they're expecting a people to lose power and a lot of trees to come down. ben tracy cbs news seattle. >> weird stuff for them. we are in the midst of a nice fall weekend but we might see some records. >> once we get to tuesday and wednesday we may be arnldz 80 degrees and that -- around 80 degrees and that would be ridiculous. >> how about summer like? >> summer like. we'll welcome it because winter knocking on the door.

a crisp fall weekend here. beautiful conditions, but the pacific northwest, yes, still dealing with that storm there. the center of that storm rotating to the north and west of seattle on the radar. and this still producing some very dangerous winds, pushing # 0 miles an hour. and some coastal flooding there from the coast of washington and oregon. but those set to expire overnight tonight and conditions will improve as weekend. for us picture perfect and overnight many photos in of the hunter's moon. the full moon here. it is a super moon right now. this picture coming in from wellsly that moon -- appearing so large. always appreciate seeing your photos on this moon it is the full hunter's moon.

current temperatures in the 40s and 30s. 36 in king. 49 in boston. won't be quite as cold as last night. at least not with the widespread frost. but we could see patchy frost in the suburbs as temperatures dip into the mid and upper 30s with lower 40s farther to the south and east. lots of events going on this weekend here as we get into sunday morning. 10:00 a.m. pam's run, charity road race 50 degr all dry for the patriots game as well at foxboro gillette stadium 1:00 p.m. that wind gusting occasionally from the south and west but a warmer breeze here. eventually we'll get that wind tomorrow afternoon. sunday also the apple fest continues. 67 there. few high clouds moving by. that's about it. temperatures across the board around 70 degrees from lawrence to beverly to boston.

to kick temperatures up there. upper 60s to the west and to the south and east too. along the cape and islands mid- 60s. satellite radar right now showing a completely clear sky. our next system still well to the north and west. this will push in late tomorrow night into early monday. so hour by hour overnight we're clear. we're primarily calm until tomorrow morning. then the wind starts to kick in from the southwest. gusty throughout the afternoon way late sunday evening. a couple showers too but mainly to the north and west. most of us will stay dry overnight into monday morning. monday morning milder and a chance for an isolated sprinkle or two. most of the day looking dry and much warmer still. 72 degrees with plenty of sun late in the day as we get the rain out of here. tuesday 80. we could be pushing a record high of 82, the record set in
