we are down to 68 degrees after a high of 71 degrees, 59 degrees in keenan and 61 degrees in manchester. we will keep some of the daytime heat we estimate it's a temperatures won't cool too much plus that southwest wind gusting up to 30 miles per hour from time to time. we will keep temperatures overnight in the 50s or lower 60s. 60 degrees for the low in boston. tomorrow 74 degrees with a seabreeze developing. more 80s on the way. we will track os you in just a bit in your seven- day forecast. in roxbury today, the search was on for the gunman who shot a two-year-old girl. >> police say the trigger man was trying to shoot the little girl's father as part of a gang related shoot -- shooting. chantee lans is live in boston where police say the intended target is not telling the truth about what happened . >> reporter: marty walsh was here at city hall. he pretty much said that the

help police is disturbing. one day after a toddler was shot in her car seat, boston's mayor is calling on the public to come forward with information that could lead to an arrest. >> it's terrible. it's awful. it was clearly a gang involved shooting and they were clearly going after this young girl's father. took the two-year-old girl was shot in the back of a straight through her hand and leg. >> the baby appears to be fine. i visited her at the hospital. she is crying but she is alert. >> reporter: investigators say the suspect, who has a beard, was driving a gray and black motorscooter when he opened fire. >> i heard one pop and then i was like is that a gunshot? we looked down and they bring doubt consecutive, bang, bang, bang.

say was the intended target. he is not giving them any information. >> the father here is a known gang kid to us who is also not telling us the truth of what happened. it's unfortunate. >> that's a coward right there and it bothers me. we are working to try to find out who did the shooting . >> reporter: neighbors are calling on the shooter to come forward. >> how can you just sit back and say nothing? what human being can rest their head knowing that you heard a >> reporter: and that little girl continues to recover. tonight, child services is investigating. chantee lans, wbz news. >> thanks. an update on the two officers shot in east boston. both men are recovering from several surgeries and listed in critical but stable condition. officers richard sand hollow and matt morris came under fire in east boston.

ambushed them friday night when they were responding to a domestic disturbance. figueroa was shot dead by police. we will keep you posted on the officers' recovery. neighbors staying put for much of the morning as police were called to a house on francis street for shots fired. when they got there, they say a man was armed and barricaded with several other people who refused to come out. neighbors say they heard gunshots. >> police this morning told us not to come out. they trying to get people out of the house. >> reporter: everyone eventually came out of that home but police have yet to arrest anyone and they are still investigating. still ahead on wbz news, finds forgiven. >> keolis off the hook for hundreds of thousands in fines stemming from that horrible winter two years ago.

debate prep. >> and the candidates face-off for the final presidential debate on wednesday. live coverage begins at 9 pm right here on wbz the mbta has been forgiven more than $18,000 in fines against the company that runs the commuter rail system. thousands of commuters were left stranded and running late or -- for canceled trains during the brutal winter. keolis manages the commuter rail and id performance. the company says the forgiven fines regarded maintenance issues. they agreed to waive them in the love maintenance workers being pulled off the tracks. keolis says it has already paid more than $6.5 million in fines for the ugly winter. the good news is it doesn't feel anything like winter. >> it might feel like summer again this week. >> temperatures in the 70s and

it was so gorgeous out there today, hopefully you took advantage of it. some folks to take advantage of it and even got in the water. 60 degrees ocean temperature and here in scituate, surfers taking advantage of some good waves. this very thin cloud cover is in the background with beautiful temperatures. temperatures this afternoon in the 70s. fantastic weather and more days ahead with awesome weather and warm temperatures. dayl days, keep in mind our sunset is the last day of sunset after 6 pm. november 6, that's when daylight savings ends and we go back to those 4:31 pm sunsets. hopefully, this week will get you through that not so good news. this mid-october warmth is pretty nice. we will enjoy.

not a record high but back in 1947, we did have extremely warm temperatures with a couple records set for monday and tuesday. for monday, we don't expect to get close to the record of 89 degrees but tuesday, we could get close to 82 degrees and wednesday we could get close to 47 degrees -- 1947 when we had near 80 degrees temperatures. today's high, 71 degrees in boston, average high 61 degrees. the record 88 degrees setback in 1897. temperatures have cooled into the 60s. 63 degrees in totten and a fantastic evening in manche. overnight lows back in the upper 50s, low 60s depending on where you are. further inland, you could see mid-500 readings but the clouds and that southwest breeze will help keep some of the daytime heat in and keep temperatures rather mild with tomorrow's high 74 degrees and the wind subsides slightly from the west allowing a seabreeze to develop as temperatures develop to the

fitchburg 75 degrees, worchester 78 degrees. a few clouds passing through later in the day. partly sunny for the cape and islands and high temperatures around 70 degrees. satellite radar shows clouds moving into the area. as a cold front ms. closer and closer to us, we have showers and storms through upstate new york but hour by hour, apart. it doesn't look like we will see much rain out of this particular system. as we continuing to monday evening, there is a potential for a dry afternoon but then going into tuesday morning, another round of isolated showers. very briefly tuesday morning. than this lift allows for that surge in temperatures right around 80 degrees. here is our seven-day forecast for monday. 74 degrees.

southwest winds again. wednesday, 78 degrees with a chance of isolated showers. back in the 60s thursday and friday. that's when the forecast gets uncertain. it looks like we can anticipate cooler temperatures returning more to fall like weather but the rain chance was a little if he. we do have isolated to scattered shower chances but we will keep you up-to-date throughout the entire week. back to you guys. >> looks fabulous. coming up next in sports, we go back to highlights from tom brady's

tom brady and the patriots do what they do several times in the playoffs, they won. they beat the bengals 35-17. tom brady took to the turf for the first time this season. brady gets going, 15 yard touchdown pass to james white. the patriots are up 10-7 at halftime. when the bengals strike, wide receiver brandon lafell with a catch to the back of the end zone. now later in the 3rd, maybe the play of the game, dont'a hightower with a perfectly timed blitz. he sacks andy dalton in the end zone. that is a patriots safety. the ball back to new england and another big day for hightower on defense. later on in the quarter, brady finds rob gronkowski with a perfectly placed touchdown pass. gronk finishes with 162 yards to go.

brady throws for three scores to go for 326 yards. 73rd time he has thrown for at least 300 yards. for mcwhirter, 25-17. things get chippy. gronk gets flagged for taunting. the pass went out to stephen gostkowski and a touchdown from legarrette blount. they won 35-17 to move to 5-1 on the season. >> in there. they were into it today. i was glad we could do better in the second half. and finish a game strong. we got off to a little bit of a slow start but finished with 35 points. >> first off got i got to take full responsibility on that personal foul. they can't be letting that happen. good thing it didn't hurt the team and the situation but down the road, it can always hurt the team getting your personal foul.
