crash. one of the mothers -- pregnant. all they were trying to do was cross the street. everyone is expected to be okay but they were shaken up. >> scared to death. it was horrible when i got the call. >> reporter: police say around 10 a.m. a pregnant woman and two children were struck in the crosswalk. >> i heard the crash and the screaming of the kids and the th son, chase, was one of the children hit. >> he's very scared. quiet-- our son chase is four and a half. he got the brunt of it. >> reporter: the neighbor heard the crash and came running outside to help chase. >> and i asked if i could take him out. i wanted to keep him from moving around. i took him out and laid him on

removed my shirt and applied pressure to his head. >> reporter: a woman was stopped at the crosswalk to allow the two women to cross the crosswalk. she was struck by another car. >> they all were conscious and alert. >> he has a scrape on his head and scrapes throughout his body. >> reporter: clearly marked with warnings and neighbors say folks drive down the street way too fast. >> they pay no regard to the speed limits or who is in the crosswalk. >> the message is pay attention. >> and the driver has not been charged and is under investigation. the pregnant woman is expected to be okay along with chase and the other child that was

to you. encouraging news about two boston police officers shot last week. they are improving and no longer in critical condition. wednesday night, the two officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. a man there shot them. other officers opened fire, killing figueroa. the mass tonight is on ashley street in boston. >>so furious with police. a s.w.a.t. team stormed an apartment building and did a lot of damage and they had done nothing wrong. christina hager is live with the story. >> reporter: this is developing as we speak. police just returned to the home they raided early sunday morning after an argument erupted between a resident and

a bogus 911 call. >> you broke everything here. >> reporter: there are holes in the doors and the ceiling is torn up. they are afraid to show their faces after police busted in before the break of town. revere police were responding to this call. >> there's shots being fired in my building. i have to run back in. i still have a kid in there. >> reporter: some of the occupants refused responding officers reported an odor of burned gun powder. and were there any shots fired as that caller claimed? >> i didn't hear any shooting. >> residents say no. >> i don't have any weapon. >> they are just scared because 4:00 in the morning. anyone is scared. wake up and see the police.

residual thunder and lightning. and we spay start with cloud cover and patches of low clouds as the front will be in here with the areas of fog. and the warm front goes by and we warm up with a wind from the southwest. see the narrow sliver of showers and that comes through with a cold front and things will be changing after that. it will be a little bit drier on wednesday and not as humid as tomorrow. it's going to be a rather muggy day. and lows 58 to 62. half of october. that's quite warm indeed. almost the temperatures at the -- highs will be the lows for the night. and 83 for tomorrow in boston. it's going to be instantly cooler -- significantly cooler in maine. i think we have a pretty good shot in most of massachusetts. today we made it to 75. compared to back in 1947 we hit

three teens report some kind of abuse in their romantic relationships. and there's a new type of abuse called technological abuse. half of all people ages 14 to 24 have experienced it. >> young people are subject to stalking behaviors, sexual harassment, invasions of privacy. disclosures of private pictures. where are you? who are you with? people in an abusive relationship don't tell anyone. and as few as 3% report it to an authority. >> important for parents to talk to their kids. and interesting information about men and facial hair. what is this all about? >> you might think that women prefer clean shaven men.

the attractiveness of 36 men and the women found men with light and heavy stubble were the most attractive compared to clean shaven or full bearded. but when it came to long-term relationships, the full bearded men rose to the top of the list. one theory is that beards may mask certain facial types that women don't find appealing. >> more than 8000 women were surveyed: >> i'm not allowed to have facial hair because i'm on tv. we should tell the bosses. >> why not? the women will love it. >> probably not. thanks mallika. let me know how that goes. the pregnant manatee

once again. richard gardner violated parole by hanging out at a south shore library. >> the judge ordered him held without bail. >> reporter: he covered his face in court. 49-year-old richard gardner cannot cover up his past. he served 27 years in prison in massachusetts and rhode island for sexually assaulting children, one, a 6-year-old. >> he served a long sentence. he may well serve the idea is that he lives until he's 95 and dies at the adult correctional institution. >> reporter: when he was released this month he returned to his family home in weymouth. when the locals found out a level three sexual offender was here, they were outraged. >> you got three little boys there. and i got two girls next door to me. >> he was seen in a library and
