once again. richard gardner violated parole by hanging out at a south shore library. >> the judge ordered him held without bail. >> reporter: he covered his face in court. 49-year-old richard gardner cannot cover up his past. he served 27 years in prison in massachusetts and rhode island for sexually assaulting children, one, a 6-year-old. >> he served a long sentence. he may well serve the idea is that he lives until he's 95 and dies at the adult correctional institution. >> reporter: when he was released this month he returned to his family home in weymouth. when the locals found out a level three sexual offender was here, they were outraged. >> you got three little boys there. and i got two girls next door to me. >> he was seen in a library and

probation. and he was arrested and in court he wavered extradition. and he'll be going back to rhode island. his attorney says he didn't go near the kids in the library and it's impossible for him to go anywhere. >> if he's supposed to go to the end of cape cod and keep walking into the ocean, at some point we have to decide what we're doing to people who are the untouchables. >> wi charges against him, he could spend more years in a rhode island prison. i'm bill shields, wbz news. >> the family of a roxbury 2- year-old is pleading for someone to come forward. the little girl -- the girl's grandmother said someone needs to speak up.

on the money watch be warned. a new survey says young americans are not saving for retirement. nearly half of people between 18 and 30 haven't put a penny into retirement funds.

not be open on thanksgiving day but macy's says bring on the shoppers. other stores will stay closed until black friday so employees can celebrate with families. blue laws don't allow retailers to be open on thanksgiving. americans who travel to cuba can now bring home as many as 100 cigars and several bottles of rum. and that could generate millions of dollars for the cuban economy. and the items are only for personal use and cannot be sold. >> wine in a bottle, a box, and now a can. some wineries are putting their vintages into cans. the concept is gaining popularity as sales have doubled in the past year. some say it's better than a bottle because less light hits

this year. just incredible. vibrant colors and they are so great. saw so many of those this morning. and looking at october. today's date, the temperature was 15 degrees above the average. it's been a cool month so far but the last couple of days, we're above average. and that's what we've had since april, above average months and we'll have a few warm days before returns. and club 79 from rye junior high school and milton academy on the weather bug network, those were the highs and these are the current temperatures. still in the 70s. it's nice and warm. and there are quite a few clouds right along the coast and a little bit of a gentle sea breeze cools the coastal communities off just a tad. you can see the clouds and the showers off to the northwest. closer inspection shows a few scattered showers in

and they just released new photographs. they are looking for a black man wearing a helmet on a black and white scooter. the man road away from the scene after the shooting saturday afternoon. >> investigators also tell us this was a gang related crime. and the little girl's father was the intended target. police say her dad is not cooperating with them. and the child also at 6:00. a pregnant mother and two children taken to the hospital after this car hit them. >> police say they were in the crosswalk and a car that had been rear-ended slammed into all of them. paul burton is live at the scene. >> reporter: both families say they were on their way to the park, crossing the street, and they were struck. when neighbors heard the crash, many came outside to help. everyone is expected to be
