breaking right now at 11, a carjacking in boston with a baby still in the backseat, that nine month old child has been reunited with its mother. >> and police are looking for the carjacker who police they are still out there. we want to get right to wbz's chantee lans who is life in roxbury. >> reporter: that mother were reunited, as you just mentioned, we actually saw the mother pull off of right here, this is walnut park west. take a look at the video. before she left we heard police telling her not to leave her baby in the backseat while her car was running. the carjacking started at a gas station up the street at the intersection of washington street and walnut parkwest. this is right by egleston square. the car was stopped about a block away, the nine month old baby and mother were not

any arrests. for now, live in roxbury, chantee lans, wbz news. tonight, a local teacher is accused of sending nude photos of himself to students. investigators that he also wanted naked pictures of that girl. >> police say her parents found explicit messages and called the school. wbz's louisa moller is live in merrimack , new hampshire >> reporter: some are outraged, some are disturbed. and, the news only reaching them this afternoon, after a call from the school. >> i think he is pretty disgusting. talking about a full-grown man and children inside of the school. >> reporter: a merrimack high school teacher of 37 years, arrested for what some are calling a disgusting violation of trust. >> i think that is one of the

>> reporter: 63-year-old robert todd wiley from milford, new hampshire now faces charges in connection with sending pornographic images to a child and asking for them in return. >> the parents of the girl went to police over columbus day weekend. and reported that there had been inappropriate emailing going on. >> reporter: police conducted a thorough investigation which revealed that wiley, an english students who was under the age of 18. they say wiley solicited naked photos from the girl and sent the victim nude photos and graphic videos of himself. as soon as she found out, superintendent of schools, marge chaffee, says she immediately took action. >> i met with the teacher, and a union representative and the principal. and removed him from the classroom. >> reporter: on monday evening, merrimack school board accepted wiley's retirement.

after tonight's mass, one of the injured officer's relatives told us those prayers were working. wbz's julie loncich is live outside the church in east boston. julie? >> reporter: officer cintolo's cousin tell me it has been an incredibly emotional time for her family. but she also says moments like those tonight matter. as news spread that officers richard cintolo and matt morris' conditions improved, their community at saint lazarus church in east boston felt their prayers answered. in a crowd of more than 100, officer cintolo's cousins. >> if a great feeling to know that our community can just come together in times like this. we appreciate it a lot. >> reporter: jennifer viola's worst fears were confirmed the morning following the shooting on gladstone street when she learned her cousin and his fellow officer had been shot multiple times. >> if you ever get pulled over

him. he is a great man. he has a big heart. he is a great family man. >> reporter: the commissioner has been with his officers every day. >> i am just thankful, honestly, that these two officers are making such remarkable progress. >> reporter: the two responded to a domestic call last wednesday but when they arrived, police say they were ambushed by kurt figueroa. responding officers acted swiftly. >> one particular officer stood between the individual who was shooting protected the officers and continue to give them cover. >> reporter: evans admits it has been a difficult few days for all of those involved. >> they all realize they are very lucky to be here today. >> reporter: which is why moments like these reverberate. and we did learn this evening that officer morris had yet another surgery on his leg. but again tonight, both he and officer cintolo are stable. live in east boston, julie

right now, building inspectors are investigating how part of a ceiling came crashing down on some diners at a bertucci's in new hampshire. firefighters say a heavy 12 foot decorative section of the ceiling fell on two men and a server at the restaurant in nashua. all three were taken to the hospital with injuries. tonight you can definitely feel it, autumn is on hold. tomorrow's high temperatures could break records. wbz's barry burbank is here. i guess we should not get used to this, right? you really should not. it's october and things will change and you will see that in my seven-day accuweather forecast. 75 in boston at 11:27 this morning, that was 14 degrees above the average high for today but 14 degrees below the record for this day which was set back in 1947 at 89 degrees. these were the numbers, pretty much all in the 70s including cape cod and the islands today. what a day it was. warmer out to the west in the

that is the brunt of it. >> everyone who was injured is expected to recover. police are investigating. no word yet whether the driver who caused the crash is going to be charged. tonight, investigators believe a mechanical issue sparked this fire on a bus in braintree. it broke out before 6:00 on the soutor person on board. there were no injuries. a convicted child rapist is behind bars being held without bail after violating probation. richard gardner was in court today, he was arrested friday night out of a warrant in rhode island. authorities say he violated dated probation after visiting a public who she violated probation after visiting a public library. tonight, dcf is investigating after boston police say they caught a man dealing drugs out of a baby carriage. police arrested 48-year-old

they say he was selling drugs in dorchester while pushing a 1- year-old kid in a stroller. new at 11, hundreds of people rallied in cambridge for safer streets for cyclists. in the past few months, two cyclists, amanda phillips and dr. bernard 11th have been hit and killed in cambridge. they were both hit during the day in busy parts of the city. community advocates want protected bike lanes, saver intersections, and greater enforcement of existing bike safety. ahead of -- major national police group, wellesley police chief terry cunningham, apologize for the historical treatment of minorities. he stressed that today's officers are not to blame for past discrimination but, to quote, we must change the future. he is serving as president of the international association police chiefs and got a standing ovation. this was a close encounter in a local backyard. >> the new warning from police after recent bear sightings. boston harbor swamps.

a warning tonight from southbridge police to stop feeding the bears. this after several residents reported bear sightings over the weekend. one neighbor posted these photos of a bear sittin porch snacking out of her birdfeeder. tonight, target is pulling clown costumes from its storms in new england and nationwide as well. this comes after dozens of creepy clowns sightings across the nation. in some serious cases, people have been sporting these masks during robberies. >> i don't like clowns anyway. i just assume not see one on halloween. >> they are not fun anymore.

two weeks before halloween. the school district in connecticut has even banned kids from wearing clown costumes to school. banning styrofoam cups and containers most use for takeout drinks and meals, the styrofoam bama in cambridge -- pan in cambridge goes into effect thursday. a local boy -- a local couple's baby boy made his entrance near an emily and her husband were racing from framingham to mass general last night when they got stuck in traffic. they pulled over at exit 18 and the baby was comping. fully state trooper joe hylton was there and moments later, boston ems. >> it was seconds, and just, boom. he flew out. >> he ended up being okay and i felt comfortable being able to give birth on the mass pike. >> declan is one beautiful

we don't have one tomorrow or wednesday either with those 12 foot plus tides. 78, middle school in danvers, highlands elementary school and east bridgewater, 78, mitchell middle school, wow, from the wbz weather watchers, 80 in mueller borough from routing and mostly upper 70s to middle 70s. what a day it was. and miller, 77. it's going to be a little bit warmer coming up for tomorrow. these are the numbers right now, still in still in the 70s in the ohio valley and the dewpoints are up as well, kind of muggy, not truly tropical but you can feel the moisture in the air and it will stay like that through tomorrow and then the dry air will be coming in on wednesday but it will still be very warm wednesday. we have had a batch of showers heading southeastward, a closer inspection shows the moving into vermont. a couple of flashes of lightning but the lightning has been decreasing. peaceful had southeastward and come down into northern

massachusetts and southern new hampshire, especially. may be near boston but most of them to the north of mass pike and then they will be out of your. the problem tomorrow is northeastern massachusetts, they are not sure if the warm air will make it there or if we have a seabreeze keeping it cooler. it's going to be close in boston as well. and we get cooled off by another front coming through tomorrow night but not cooled off very much, it's still going to be warm wednesday when it clears out during wednesday morning. so, upper 50s and lower 60s for lowe's tonight. when you head out tomorrow mornor stunning foliage all over new england thanks to the sun coming out and warming up to 80, 83. warmest from boston west northwestward, maybe much cooler in parts of the essex county coastline and northward from there, and south coast and cape, because the southwest wind will pick up in the afternoon. it is all being pumped up from the southwest by this high. this tropical system which may become tropical storm otto, the hurricane center is watching. that may help to introduce

meantime, nicole is way out in the atlantic. nicole is going to come up to greenland and produce a ton of snow over the next few days. we will be watching these fronts, the warm front goes off to the northeast, hopefully it penetrates through boston but it's going to be a close call. i'm going to go for the gold, record high of 83 tomorrow. we are still warm wednesday even though the air turns dryer. here's my seven-day accuweather forecast. 81 wednesday, the air dries out and then it turns damp d here on thursday, showers on friday and really a chilly weekend with temperatures only in the 50s with a mix of clouds and sunshine and a gusty wind. enjoy the next couple of days. the wayward manatee that was rescued off of the cape is now headed home. tomorrow, a coast guard plane will fly the pregnant manatee from the mystic aquarium in connecticut down to florida. she will continue recovery at the world before being released into the wild in a few weeks to have its babies.
