breaking right now and 11, a young boy riding his bicycle killed in a car crash. the driver who hit him also a teenager. breaking in ipswich, the coast guard rescues a swimmer missing four hours. plus , police arrested a man after he exposed himself near the school while the kids were on recess. breaking news and a tragedy in brockton. a 13-year-old boy riding his bike hit by a car and killed. >> the driver of that car is also a teenager. wbz's chantee lans is live in brockton with the latest. >> reporter: david and lisa, the family of that victim just arrived on scene, they are understandably extremely upset. one woman just collapsed here and officials are here to help

the suv is still on scene, police don't know what led to the crash but can tell us that a young teenager lost his life on the street tonight. >> it is a very active investigation, detectives are getting statements from witnesses. >> reporter: brockton officials say a young teenager was writing his bike when a teenager -- riding his bike when a teenager driving an suv struck and killed him. >> i am a father of six and i changed forever. >> reporter: bill carpenter says the police spent hours trying to figure out the teen's identity. >> he is a boy ranging in age of 12 to 13 but we really don't know. what is going on right now is we are working closely with school officials and the cell phone that the boy had. >> reporter: the driver that stopped was the only one in the vehicle, he is 18 years old. >> clearly, visibly station --

>> reporter: the mayor says the teen driver was not hurt and was taken to an area hospital as a precaution. live in boston, chantee lans, wbz news. >> very sad, thank you. now to this breaking news on the north shore, the best possible news for one family, a man rescued by the coast guard in the waters of crane beach. louisa moller is live in ipswich tonight. this is a man who got caught in a >> reporter: that's right, lisa, that is what is so miraculous about this. after hours of searching, hours that this 58-year-old man spent in the water, a coast guard helicopter spotted him and brought him to safety. let me take you back to the beginning. ipswich police say a 5008 -- 58- year-old man and his son-in-law were swimming in the beach. they are described as a strong

became anxious. they came to the beach and saw their bicycles. that's when they called 911. police came to the beach and found the son-in-law who said that both men had been caught in a heavy fog and swept out by a rip current. he also said they were both wearing wetsuits at the time. hours later again, the 58-year- old man was spotted and hoisted into a coast guard helicopter, then brought to land, transported to a local hospital. we are told he is listed in all of this, incredibly happy news, despite a very, very trying evening here at crane beach. for now, live in ipswich, louisa moller, wbz news. breaking news in dorchester, a man shot while working on his car in dorchester avenue, the globe reporting the 41-year-old victim was hit when the gunman fired 15 rounds then ran off. the man is reportedly undergoing surgery right now at boston medical center with life-

there have been no arrests so far. police in andover are searching for a man exposing himself to kids near a school. the kids saw him while they were at recess. police say the man was standing outside his car in a parking lot at saint augustine elementary school. >> officials thing two or three students saw the man. wbz's julie loncich spoke to parents and joins us live from andover. julie? was standing right next to a car in this parking lot, a parking lot that actually comes up to the playground here, given the time and location of all of this, parents wonder if anywhere is safe. >> i'm kind of shaking inside. my teeth were chattering when i was talking to my mother. >> reporter: kate says she could not help but have a visceral reaction when she learned a man allegedly exposed himself to elementary schoolers as she picked up her own kindergartner tuesday. >> i feel like there is nowhere

>> reporter: andover police say dozens of children's were playing during recess at saint augustine elementary school monday when three or four of them spotted the man in this municipal parking lot. >> unfortunately, they not only noticed it once, but the individual ended up doing it a second time. >> reporter: that lot abuts the playground and fields and is in a highly trafficked area. >> the area is flooded with people go into cafes and restaurants. >> reporter: the students did not tell staffers but rather tuesday morning, administrators and police were notified. >> anything can happen and it is just terrifying. >> you leave your kids here and think they are safe and then this happens. >> reporter: police were on patrol at recess a day later while investigators searched for surveillance cameras that may have spotted the man and are in the meantime hoping someone saw something out of the ordinary. >> it is just scary and you got to keep an open eye on everything.

you hear a whole bunch of rumors unsubstantiated from 30 years ago. >> reporter: the latest batch of emails reveals clinton's campaign manager, john podesta, mocking former rival bernie sanders. last year, he wrote, he is a doofus for criticizing the paris climate deal and in march, emails clinton with the first cut of people to consider for vice president. 39 names divided into what he called food groups, including latino leaders, female lawmakers, and down at the bottom all by itself, clinton is in las vegas preparing for wednesday night's debate. >> this is her last opportunity to be in front of a national audience, and she is looking forward to doing that. >> reporter: a new monmouth university poll out tuesday shows clinton has widened her lead over trump in battleground nevada. and nationally, a new poll out just tonight from foxnews also shows clinton up seven in a head to head with trump. trump is running out of time

difference. >> we reached out to elizabeth warren's campaign but they had no comment on his potential run. sweetgreen restaurant in downtown crossing is closed and there is no word on when it might reopen. the restaurant opted to close after an inspection found a number of violations, at least one customer reports getting sick after eating at the school street location. inspector say one of the major violations was a manager in charge who was not sufficiently trained. >> but the one that we are most concerned about is the person in charge, not having the knowledge that we expect them to have. >> the company president says sweetgreen is working with the boston help department to reopen as soon as possible. you may remember the back bay sweetgreen closed temporarily earlier this year, also for health code violations. they were looking for love but ended up brokenhearted and nearly broke. tonight, a former boston man is accused of swindling nearly $400,000 from five women that he met for dates on social media sites. police say that michael shields

money on everything from gay patients -- vacations to dinners. a woman is in custody after a standoff with police in new hampshire. this last and in the town of candia. investigators say an armed woman barricaded herself and her 12-year-old daughter inside. police are holding the woman without bail while doctors perform a mental health evaluation. is prompting new calls for warning signs and flashing lights at a busy crosswalk. one man was killed today and another is hospitalized. they had just stepped off of a bus and were crossing the street. they both worked in maintenance for hobbs brook management. the driver stopped immediately and was still unclear -- what's still unclear is why the driver hit the two pedestrians. >> we know they were in the crosswalk. we got to do an investigation

>> the driver is 60 years old and is from waltham. at this point he is not facing any charges. the victim was a 65-year-old watertown man and police have not yet released his name. billionaire michael bloomberg is giving $50 million to the museum of silence -- science in boston. the former new york city mayor grew up in medford and took classes there as a child. he says this huge donation is his way of saying thank you. >> as a kid, i just loved the museum because they had hands- on exhibits and that made everything come alive for me. of thinking and incidentally, it taught me the value of never being afraid to ask a question. >> the museum's education division will be named in honor of bloomberg's parents. speaking of money, a man in brookline raised $13,000 in less than an hour. >> coming up, why this local democrat felt so strongly about helping republicans who have been hurt in north carolina. from swimming in the olympics to running in boston,

larry in attleboro, 82 today. it's all about location, location, location. here we have right now the warmth spreading into boston, highest temperature of the day is right now at 11:00 at night. meantime, cool air off to the north and west. that is definitely coming our way. there is the warm air coming up, we still have fog across seven new hampshire. some of that is dense but it is all gobbled up, cleared out, most of massachusetts, north of the boston area. we've got dewpoints in the low to middle 60s, very humid air for this time of year but dry air will be coming in here tomorrow afternoon. we've got showers off in new york state but most of those will dry out before they get here. i temperatures tomorrow, 78 to 81 degrees for most folks, even though there will be clouds in the morning, as the front comes down, it will not produce these showers right now and we will have pretty good weather. yuriko, a look at the weather, looking down the post with the possibility that we
