>> police have not released his name yet. the latest on the investigation. >> it's a very active investigation. detectives are getting statements from witnesses. >> officials say a young teenager was riding his bike when an suv struck and killed him. >> tough enough when it's a child, it's even more gut wrenching. i'm a father of six. i know that some families life change for ever tonight. >> mayor bill carpenter says investigators spent several hours tr teen's identity. the driver who stopped was the only one in the vehicle. he is 18 years old. >> clearly visibly shaken. was cooperative. no charges filed at this point. but it's very early in the investigation. >> the mayor says the teen driver was not hurt. he was taken to an area hospital as a precaution. in brockton, wjz this morning. a swimmer who got caught in

safety by a coast guard helicopter. he was swimming with his son-in- law when the two got separated. the younger man was able to swim safely back to shore. that coast guard helicopter spotted randall hacket treading water. he was also taken to the hospital to be checked out. police say both swimmers were familiar with the area and wearing wet suits. a man working on his car in dorcester. the 41-year-old man was hit when a gunman fired ed 15 rounds and ran off. no word on any arrests. a man exposes hums to elementary students. police are hoping security camera footage or alert neighbors will help track him down. the man exposed himself twice from a parking lot that faces the playground during recess on

politics. former red sox star wants to be a u.s. sensor. schilling said yesterday he wants to launch a senate bid against elizabeth warren. his wife must first sign off on the run. schilling who made several campaign stops on behalf of trump in new hampshire yesterday, says he wants to get into washington because he is sick of the current leadership. >> why do you want to run so badly? >> make a difference. i'm tired of people not do anything about it. i difference. >> we reached out to elizabeth warren's campaign. they had no comment on schilling's potential run. >> a democrat helped raise thousands of dollars for republicans in north carolina after a campaign office was fire bombed. david set out to raise $10,000 to help repair the office, but raise more than $13,000 in less than an hour. while he disagrees with the platform politically, it's everyone's duty to help out in the face of violence.

crazy. >> i want to get behind it and push that front through. some of us experienced fall all day yesterday and we were stuck in the 50s and 60s. these were yesterday's high. we did manage 69 in boston. we hit 82 in north adams. it depended what side of the front you were on. now that warm front lifted and we'll all be on the warmer side today. temperatures currently, 59 in manchester. 66 in boston. most of us running in we also have some scattered clouds north and west of boston. a couple showers, too. this is with the cold front that extends from southern maine, stretching into southern parts of ohio. it marks the cooler edge for the remainder of the week. look for the highs today. 75 to 80. we are not waiting on the warm front today. 81 in norwood. well above average by 10 to 20

this afternoon. overnight tonight, we'll be partly cloudy, 55 downtown. some of the coolest suburbs will dip into the 40s. northeast wind 2 to 12 miles per hour. check out the highs. only in the 60s. the biggest difference will be the wind. a high of 60 in boston. it will feel different because we'll be so warm today. we start with sunshine tomorrow morning. i want to time out the warm weather for you. scattered showers do arrive. they will arrive from southwest to northeast during the late afternoon and evening. you may want to throw the umbrella or raincoat in the car in the morning. you won't need it for the morning commute. for the ride home, there will be scattered showers around. through friday, looking soggy. friday morning, may feature a couple light showers. mainly inland. watch what happens during the afternoon on friday. pockets of rain fill in, and look at this.

move forward. student workers are entitled to collective bargaining. harvard and others said they are students, not employees. downtown crossing is now closed due to health code violations. the restaurant opted to close yesterday after inspectors found a number of violations. one customer reported getting sick after eating at the location. inspectors say one of the major violations was a manager in charge who wasn't suf >> the one that we're most concerned about is the person in charge. not having the knowledge that we expected to have. >> the company president says sweet green is working with the health department to reopen as soon as possible. earlier this year, closed temporarily for health code violations. voters in revere rejected a proposal for a possible slots parlor in the city. the measure is not binding. the vote comes ahead of

parlor in massachusetts. the latest town to ban plastic bags at stores. residents voted on it monday night during the annual town meeting. it won't happen right away. shoppers will be encouraged to bring their own bags. many other cape towns have similar laws in place to help protect the environment. >> millford plights are on the lookout for two stolen goats. raised from birth by a woman in neighbors corralled the goats after they had gotten loose, two men showed up in a red pickup truck and claimed to own the goats. that turned out to be false. police think the goats may still be in millford. return them to their owner. >> or landscapers. >> yeah. losing money without those goats. ahead on wbz this morning, the fastest on the fight.

an hour yesterday. police are holding the woman without bail. a reward is up to $5,000 now and it's being offered following a string of fires. ten vehicles were set on fire earlier this month. this is cell phone video from one of these those incidents. police are asking for anyone with information to give them a call. a former boston man will be arraigned today. police say michael shields met the women then opened dozens of credit cards in their names. they say he swindled five women out of $400,000 and he used that money to buy everything from vacations to dinners. convicted sex offenders being held on $1 million bail, charged with raping a 14-year- old girl. charles lovejoy went before a judge yesterday. he was arrested monday. after police say he picked up the girl, drove her to a

her. officers say he was wearing a gps monitoring device at the time. >> philadelphia prosecutorrings are accusing bill cosby's lawyer of stretching the truth as they try to get a sexual assault case thrown out. the comedian used his fame and fortune. cosby's lawyers say it's unfair to make him defend events from a sexual encounter. a hearing could determine if the case moves forward and more accusers tested positive tuff for zika. even as other parts of miami have been cleared. more than 1,000 cases of zika have been confirmed. 163 of those are believed to be not travel related. some 66 million people will be seeing a bump in their social security checks next year. benefits will see a .3%

the average retiree's monthly benefit is 1,305. a boston area school is teaming up with the u.s. army for a new study about stress. working with the army to learn more about how people think and respond under stress. the new center opened in medford yesterday. the research is aimed at helping soldiers, civilians, first responders helping to improve their ability at solving problems in stressful kids. a super hero window washer dressed as spider man was outside boston children's yesterday. hospital workers say that the person was seen on the boston campus in the past. but, this was his first time visiting. >> the pregnant manatee rescued on the cape is back home in florida. washburn took a non-stop flight
