no word on any arrests. now, to a developing story, a 13-year old boy graze buddha stray bullet in his own bed. this after gunfire erupted around his home. >> reporter: police say shoots were fired during a dispute between a group of young people and a stray bullet went flying into the third floor of this apartment hit ago 13-year old in the shoulder. this video shows the street night. police blocked off the road with crime tape and placed evidence markers in the street as they investigated the shooting. the gunfire closed the bunker hill community college to go on lock down for about a half hour. neighbors tell us they heard about 10 gunshots in all and believe the shooting is related to gang activity. the 13-year old's

capitalize when he campaigns today in new hampshire. he was in boston yesterday for a cancer summit. we've got some good news for you this morning. one of the 2 boston police officers shot in the line of duty is out of the hospital of the cintolo was released yesterday, he and officer morris were hit by gunfire last week during a shoot out. the suspect was killed. both officers were in critical t shooting and surgeries. the commissioner says he's amazed at the recovery. >> i'm very happy, you know, i would have never thought he'd be home with the shape he was in and the whole city pulled together, everyone, you know, prayed for him and we're happy he's home and he'll still have a long road ahead of him. >> officer morris is still at mass general but been upgraded to stable condition. by the way a blood drive will be held today

you can stop by the boston police patrolman's association union hall from 8 this morning until 3 this afternoon. a last ditch effort to save the garden. supporters getting ready to rally against an expansion plan at boston children's hospital. we're live at the state house. >> reporter: this has been an ongoing debate, but for the group who plans to protest here at the state house today this serenity they say they and their children so desperately need. it's a place that's been a staple for decades, a place for families whose children are receiving care to escape but now this is all in jeopardy as the hospital plans a billion dollar expansion project, a new 11 story building providing more than 70 additional beds. it's the hospital's way they say, of providing more, but thursday as

the project with a protest hours before the final decision. among many concerns are health care costs and what the expansion project would do to drive those up, but from the therapeutic perspective saving the garden is about taking healing from the hospital room to the green garden. that final vote is today. the group says even if it means the hospital has to go back to square 1 with its expans today is to save this guard ten. . 2 people now facing charges for blowing up an lgbt newspaper box. but some say those charges just don't go far enough. police say a 23-year old and a 20-year old were among the 7 people who put explosives inside the rainbow times mailbox back in august. they're due in court tomorrow facing charges.

boston, 20 degrees cooler than yesterday though. so a cooler day but still actually a little bit above average particularly through the he interior where we'll be in the upper 60s, morning commute dry no problems, definitely wants the shades the sun is going to be up and shining through mid-day and then the clouds increase. there maybe a couple showers southern vermont through late afternoon. notice as the clouds thicken still not a lot of green on the map. most of doesn't arrive until after the evening commute in most areas and then the scattered showers will continue at times overnight tonight with patchy fog and low clouds. those temperatures will actually rise towards morning. and check out the highs tomorrow we actually turn mild, 71 in boston, most of us low 70s. so we get into some of the warmth and the humidity. you're going to feel it. it's going to be sticky tomorrow and with that humidity in place that will breed showers and even some

definitely the day you want the wet weather gear, showers scattered generally light tomorrow through the afternoon and late in the day watch what happens we get a band of steady rain that cops up, some downpours into the first part of the overnight. saturday this is map, just a few left over showers most of the steady rain is going to be shipping out of here. in terms of rainfall forecast, half an inch to an inch and a half for most of us all the areas in may be one little strip of locally heavy rain that tries to set up. after that for the weekend it's all about the wind. saturday any showers end, low 60s falling into the 50s. we may see some gusts, may gust to 40 miles per hour. a lot of leaves coming down this weekend. brighter on sunday and 50s to start next week could be an isolated shower on monday.

most of the clouds will increase after lunchtime today. so let's take you through the hour by hour, morning commute fine no problems grab the shades. after lunchtime that's when the clouds start to increase and by late in the day the clouds will thicken up. so your evening commute still looking mainly dry. they'll be generally light for the most part and continue for portions of the overnight tonight with lows dropping back into the 50s. we may rise towards dawn to around 60 degrees and tomorrow is going to be warm and humid. you're going to feel it. the humidity comes in it's going to breed areas of rain. showers to start tomorrow morning. notice some light green showing up but the showers do become more widespread tomorrow afternoon scattered in nature and tomorrow evening we get a band of rain that lifts northward it looks steady and at times heavy.
