sexually assaulting a middle school student. i'm paula ebben. >> i'm david wade. the man grabbed the student who was on their way to class. over the apartment building on phillip street where investigators say that the 21- year-old angel mateo dragged the student and repeatedly assaulted the child. the east middle school student later told a parent what happened, prompting the call to police. officers say that the child gave a detailed description of the attacker as well as the building where the attack gather details. we have learned that mateo will be in court tomorrow. also breaking, boston children's hospital, just got approval within the last hour or so to expand. this means that the beloved garden that parents have been fighting to preserve will be relocated. there will be four new gardens.

gloucester police department. the district attorney just turned over the investigation into leonard campanello accused of inappropriate contact with two women and erasing evidence from his city-owned cell phone. campanello will remain on paid leave. tonight the investigator is investigating logan airport. a united crew noticed the laser last night at about 00 northwest. police in new hampshire, they say that this man broke into a home where two teenage brothers were home alone. one of those boys, they confronted david mccumber while the other called 911. they chased him out of the house down the street where police arrested him. he faces several charges including burglary, drug and weapon possession. tonight they are trying to figure out how a student fell

saying that the bus was less than half full. the bus had just pulled away from the elementary school yesterday afternoon when the student fell. he suffered minor injuries, he'll be okay though, but the bus has been taken out of service. this morning a tractor trailer took out a utility pole in chelsea. bringing the poll down and the wires down as well. they had to repair the line. >> it is just about that time as we start to think winter be? tonight we get close tore the answer. noah just released their winter weather outlook and our chief meteorologist eric fisher is here with a closer look. what are we looking at? >> it is going to be dark and cold and it is pretty cold outside as we take a look at the factors here and the outlook from noah. what they are going for is la nina is going to be in the driver seat as one of the main factors here. that will favor colder air over

of course in the debate they said it was horrifying. this afternoon president obama said this undermines our democracy. what do you make of it? >> look, i cannot read donald trump's mind nor can he read mine? we are both happy about that. but while i understand that smooths transition of pow -- smooth transitions are a staple. i think that there may be other motivations that will play here. he's a bu heavily on his name to generate revenue. there have been several recent surveys showing that negative fallout have hurt the trump brand. bookings are down sharply. and his trump branded casinos and golf courses are taking a hit. even his daughter has acknowledged concerns about potential damages to sales of her branded shoes, handbags, other items. so it is a problem and i think

how do you think that it will affect the way he handles it if he loses it? >> this will be a couple of ways it could go, paula. that they might shake out by him deciding to stop the bleeding, by receding gracefully, by keeping the so- called trump movement moving steering them towards a new business venture. there's a lo about a possible tv trump network. sure enough at last night's debate the trump campaign was up on facebook with their own live show from the debate in las vegas. can you picture trump on election night claiming the election was stolen, and urging his millions of followers to sign up right now for trump tv to keep the movement going. i can. especially because the campaign, it is currently being run by a businessman who has made a lot of money off the

on the money watch you may want to double check the interest rates on your store credit cards before you think about paying off your balance and installments. there's a new report that found some stores charge nearly 30% interest. the worst offenders are big lots, zales and staples. the average store ca the average for all credit cards is about 15%. massachusetts governor charlie baker and boston mayor marty walsh are preparing for self-driving cars in our state. a nine-member group will consult with experts on auto-- automated driving. meanwhile tesla says by the end of next year the technology in its electric cars will make them completely self-driving. the cars will have eight

a deadly typhoon just toured through the philippines. super typhoon haima ha the storm brought torrential downpours, heavy flooding. the typhoon has blown out to sea. look at this, thieves in oklahoma drove a stolen truck right through a store and then got out and stole the atm inside. police found the truck down the road 20 minutes later. the same crooks may have been behind another theft about a week ago.

the 3-year-old in her arms, braden had a seizure and wasn't breathing. the officer performed cpr, showing brady's father what to do and then ran to the car to grab a cpr mask. brady has recovered. the boy is doing great. and that they would see a well deserved reward from the city. >> and that is so cute. >> hopefully friends for life. >> i know. we are saying that we have, that we will need to pay them at some point and that they so beautiful. that we would have a lot of pine trees in the the house. and that they have fallen and that they need to be cleaned up already. >> they would have a huge rainstorm coming, sounding the bell to get them cleaned. but this year that it will be a good idea. >> get out there david. average for the city of boston and many areas east of boston as well. however if you don't see the decent rainfall tomorrow, tomorrow night that we will start to fall below average as we head towards the tail end of the month that we have not had a month of above average rainfall in the city since february. so it has been a very long stretch in october and maybe that they will snap that streak. now out there this evening temps in the upper 50s. feels a bit more like it should at this time of the year compared to the summer weather yesterday. we've got a front approaching from the st become tropical storm auto towards the bahamas. they might throw a little bit of the tropical moisture hoping to enhance that rainfall late on friday. as for tonight most of this rain is headed across pennsylvania and new york. they are also dealing with droughts. so that will be very good news for them. here locally with a couple of rain showers near manchester and points farther north getting a little bit of rainfall tonight. but really just expecting the drizzle and a couple of light showers. temperatures will be holding,

head towards tomorrow morning. a very mild evening. then as you look towards friday, we'll start the day with a little bit of drizzle and the light shower activity. then towards the afternoon, a better chance for heavier showers developing. right now the best chance of that heavier rain will be in far eastern massachusetts. areas towards 495 and westward right now. we're not very optimistic with the big rainfall totals. but the best downpours and a chance for thunder is the far eastern part of the state and into rhode island. now that will be up until rd once we hit saturday morning most of the activity will start to wind down. now tomorrow a very mild day. it will not feel much like october, but the temps will be at or above 70 in many locations and very humid tomorrow. so expect to feel pretty balmy outside especially into the afternoon. now this weekend some changes and some spotty showers on saturday, but a big some system that will be wrapped leaving them to new england and they will bring in the colder temperatures that will really start to feel on saturday night

now at 6:00, a mother describing the terrifying moment a stray bullet came through her wall and hit her son. >> teenagers caught on camera stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from an apple store. an active forecast ahead for some rain on the way. plus a big cool down. we'll have more coming up. orange cones have drivers seeing red. one local sheriff is taking to twitter to voice their construction concerns. we want to get right to breaking news in lawrence tonight. a man under arrest accused of e repeatedly sexually assaulting a child. >> police say that stranger grabbed a child, dragged the victim into an apartment building this morning. let's get right out to katie brace who is live with this disturbing story in lawrence tonight. katie? >> reporter: david and lisa, a 13-year-old was walking to his or her middle school when

lives nearby grabbed that child and sexually assaulted him or her. i want to show you video from sky eye 4 over the suspect's house this evening where investigators are going through that apartment with a search warrant on phillips street. the victim said a man grabbed him from behind and carried them into an apartment. detectives say the child was sexually assaulted there several times. held for a couple of hours today too. the child was released, went to school, called mom, mom called police. and the attacker and building quickly lead them to arrest 21- year-old angel mateo of lawrence. now the child has been treated and released from the hospital. mateo is expected in court now on two serious charges, kidnapping and rape. reporting live in lawrence katie brace wbz news. more breaking news in chelsea tonight. police just made an arrest in a shooting that left a teenager injured. police say he was in his bedroom laying in his bed when

chelsea with the latest on this story. christina? >> reporter: well david this just coming in from police now. they have arrest the 19-year- old christian garcia accused of firing at the side of this apartment building here in chelsea. you can see bullet holes in this side of the building. garcia is from everett, but mass state police picked him up in andover where the 13-year- old he's accused of shooting is recovering. as tough as this year-old felt safer here than at home. >> the young boy just doesn't want to be here. >> reporter: even though that police now say they have made an arrest, there is still a hole in the wall too close to the bed where he was sleeping before he got up to look at the commotion outside his window and got hit by a stray bullet. spanish-speaking mother emotionally drained. >> he's not able to move his
