live from the channel 4 studios in boston, this is wbz news at noon. a 13-year old girl kidnaped and raped on her way to school held captive for more than 2 hours, alleged attacker has been caught. >> police say her attention to defail was key to making an arrest. >> reporter: 21-year old mateo just appeared before a judge literally minutes ago all of this in connection with the alleged kidnaping and rape of a 13-year old child while walking to school. i want to get you right to a photo of mateo as he was handcuffed yesterday.

police say he kidnaped and raped a 13-year odd while walking to school happening on phillips avenue where he allegedly grabbed the child and forced her into a second floor apartment. police say he raped appeared assaulted that teen for 2 hours before releasing her under the threat of not telling police. but the child's parent did go to police when learning of this alleged rape. the child gave police a very detailed account and description of the suspect and the apartment where s taken. and police were able to quickly make an arrest for mateo. again, that arraignment happening just moments ago. i can tell you he was wearing a gps monitoring device for what we're told was a past pretrial probation case dealing with extortion. he facialed that judge just a short time ago and he is due back in court on

a shooting in chelsea that led to a stray bullet hitting a 13-year old inside his apartment. the teen arrived home from the hospital last night with the bullet still lodged in his back. he says he was of watching tv on the third floor when he heard the sound of gunshots on the street below. he says when he we want to check out the commotion he was hit. prosecutors say the stray bullet came from garcia. . >> he was of the east side gang. he exited the vehicle and opened fire into the crowd. after firing 6 to 8 shots he rushed to the vehicle. . >> reporter: the defense attorney says garcia -- the defense attorney argued garcia was identified as a suspect based only on witness accounts. he's being held on $100,000 cash

the latest poll shows hassan pulling away from ayotte. in the race for u.s. senate. it puts hassan with 48% of the vote compared to 39% for ayotte. it's the first time this year either candidate has shown a significant lead. well this just in 2 men have pleaded not guilty to the setting of an explosion in downtown salem. this bombing destroyed a newspaper box belonging to the rainbow times. community and workers believe that this was a hate crime. although the 2 men are only facing charges of property damage. a robbery and it's caught on camera. a man walks into a bank on broadway right up to the teller and you can see him pull out a gun as he demands cash from that teller and grabs it in fistfuls. he left in a royal blue car. if you have any

a mom caught on camera stealing thousands of dollars of products from the apple store. police say the group surrounded the display and cut the cords and took off. investigators say the thieves got away with 19 iphones worth about $13,000. police believe this same group might be connected to a similar robbery a few weeks ago. police are searching for the driver of this car which crashed into a home this morning. police say they're not sure who or how many people were inside when the car ran into the wilson street house. luckily no one inside was hurt. a woman missing for more than a day found safe in a swamp. the 45-year old was carried out of the woods and into that ambulance early this morning. she was taken to the hospital and is said to be in good health. the find came after police and k-9 units spent hours searching the woods near her home.

sunday. it's the season. this surge of cold air moves ind we could see a few flurries to 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation and i know the ski resorts are excited about that. for us we're tracking the rain potential through saturday night around half an inch of rain. now, isolated spots could see that 1 to 3-inch rain but realistically things look to have backed off. we'll keep up to dateec watchers. visibility still reduced in some spots, worcester 2 and a half miles or less but good visibility farther to the south and east. the wind helping to mix out some of that fog. we have a temperature of 72 degrees, very warm and very uncomfortable with the high humidity out there. 74 taunton, today yes, temperatures will be in the mid-70s with a little bit of gusty southeast wind but
