minor injuries in that chaos. good evening to you i'm david wade. >> i'm lisa h. had been it take blames a overheated motor for that smoke. these were very frightening moments reporter: initially lisa keep in mind these passengers had no idea what was going on. they first smelled the smoke then sue they saw it and told me they felt trapped. initial moment of chaos back afternoon. >> the actual car i was on jerked. it smelled like brake smoke. >> when a motor over heighted on an orange line train and smoke filled the car. passengers panicked breaking a window to get free. >> i had no idea was going on. there was a ton of smoke. the first thing in my mind getting out of there. reporter: the real fear came when the doors wouldn't open. >> people started to panic.

crews removing a damaged suv that smashed into a home on beacon hill and tonight we've learned the man behind the wheel was an uber driver whose passenger was injured. wbz katie brace is live on scene for us with the new information. >> david, we have learned that that uber driver's name is john collette he was driving an uber passenger at the time when he crashed into this wall. you can see crews just finished boarding it up and all the remove. and witnesses tell me he sped up this hill and slammed into the building. crews removed the remainder of a wall to a beacon hill home. part of the small suv that crashed into it. >> i seen a white cop doing 70 with no brakes smack into the wall irk michael elliott witnessed the crash. >> he couldn't stop anyway because i was going too fast. he couldn't even turn.

chilly feel all day. it's going to be a hot cup of coffee or tea afternoon. temperatures making the 40s and then our rain and chance for little snow develops as we head into the afternoon. so morning again is mainly dry, the the clouds will be thickening up. there's a chance for a brief rain shower near the coast tomorrow. main part of the storm system arrives mid afternoon. rain will press its way in from the west will increase as we head tomorrow. heaviest overall rain about overnight. middle of the night thursday night into early friday morning we get our heaviest rainfall chance for thunder light knowledge stronger wind gusts plus the temperatures are going to rise into the 50s by friday morning and then also be drying out from south to north as we head into friday morning. when it comes to snow this is kind of a novelty thing. basically west of 495 a chance for wet snow or sleet pellets change over to rain little or no accumulation. temperature will be above freezing at the ground.

could see one to three inches in the berkshires east of 495 it should be all rain. about winds we get our heaviest downpours chance of gusts 35 to 55 miles an hour. the strongest gust cape cod and the islands. a bit of tree damage and the winds will be switching around to the north and west on friday and that too looks to be a very blustery day. how about rain totals 1 to 2 inches of rain for most of the area that would be good for the drought for sure. he thursday night middle of the night. and we're going to get an update to the drought monitor tomorrow morning. we still have big rainfall deficits but we've seen progress over the last week. i would expect at least some improvements and with tomorrow's rain next week could show a little more improvement also. a bit of rain in the weekend forecast. now saturday most of the day is dry. hooks like a couple of rain showers could develop for the late afternoon and the evening. then another system is going to work its way in on sunday afternoon. and that could bring a little
