year-old woman was tied up and threatened. the woman was targeted. this was not a random attack. the suspects fled in her black cadillac seville. and police have recovered the car but not the suspects. scary moments for a convenience store clerk. robbers armed with pistols rush in. and one robber fired off a shot. >> police were able to catch up with the two teens and they both facing charges. bill shields is live in hyannis. >> reporter: sadly it's not unusual to hear about a convenience store being robbed. but it's unusual to hear that they pulled a gun. the robber pulled a gun and fired a round right in back of the clerk. >> it is a little scary. that's a different element. >> reporter: if police say it was scary. imagine you're this clerk.

halloween prank. then the suspect fired and the clerk opened the cash drawer. >> i just gave him the money. >> this guy had just gone on break. >> and he recognized the guy with the gun. >> i think he used to work some other place and he had seen him there. >> the clerk recognized knew him as cody. and the next day a sharp eyed cop saw a guy he knew as cody. >> they picked him un-and patted the other guys down. and it was on one of the juveniles, another friend of his that was not involved in the robbery. >> reporter: the juvenile who was with them and had the gun

round just 2 feet in back of the clerk. >> these are both 19-year-olds that are doing this. >> reporter: and you can't help but wonder about cody martin who allegedly fired the round. he hangs around this part of hyannis. and police know him well and the clerk recognized him and knew his name. reporting live, i'm bill shields, wbz news. two springfield officers are recovering after they were car. the officers were trying to stop the car wanted in connection to a shooting in connecticut. the two officers were hospitalized and not seriously hurt. and the chase ended when the suspect slammed into a building. one suspect ran off. the driver and a second passenger are in custody. and a new bedford police officer is in serious condition after a dirt bike ran him over. nine people were arrested.

vehicles through the city and on sidewalks and creating a risk for the children trick or treating. tonight bill cosby's lawyers are trying to keep potentially damaging testimony from a lawsuit out of the sexual assault trial. kenneth craig has the details. >> reporter: bill cosby was back in court tuesday as his lawyers and prosecutors argued over which evidence should be allowed at assault trial. cosby's lawyers tried to suppress the recently unsealed deposition he gave in 2005. under oath, he has admitted he gave pills to former temple university employee andrea -- before a sexual encounter with her. she says she was too drugged to consent. cosby's attorney say the

charges. otherwise, he never would have testified. she's one of dozens of women who have accused the 79-year- old entertainer of sexual assault over several decades. hers is the only one that's led to criminal charges. and prosecutors will argue to let jurors hear from the 13 other women as they try to establish a pattern of behavior. >> because those witnesses allege drugging and by mr. cosby that would show that he would know that they could not or would not consent if they were under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. >> but cosby's defense says too much time has passed for the women's memories to be reliable. cosby has pleaded not guilty. kenneth craig, cbs news, pennsylvania.

controversial. and under trump, the widely unpopular mandates and penalties would be gone. and on analysis, trump's proposals would leave up to 25 million people uninsured, boost out of pocket expenses, return insurance denial rates to pre- obama care levels and add a half billion dollars to the federal deficit. so there are some real issues there. >> and many of the issues are what obama care was supposed to address. how would clinton deal with the rising premiums. >> trump wants to decentralize and return power to the states. clinton calls for more and better federal policies. she laid out some of the details during the second presidential debate. >> premiums have gotten too high, prescription drug costs and i've laid out a series of

to get the costs down. but we've got to get costs down and provide help to small businesses so they can afford to provide health insurance. >> and clinton is offering tax credits and other proposals, including adding a government run insurance option to the mix, a so called public option, to reduce costs. the analysis found her plans would cut spending significantly in the short unclear. and just like trump's plan, the clinton reforms would balloon the federal deficit. both are vague. >> what do we learn about each candidate? >> there's a clear difference in philosophy when it comes to healthcare. trump wants a free market system like what we had before the healthcare law.

expecting bright skies and a southwesterly breeze, and it will be up in the 60s quite a bit above average. and the pick of the week if you want to get outside, tomorrow will be your day. going for a high of 67 in boston, 68 in norwood and taunton. and nantucket over 60 degrees. a kink in the warm front. and we'll start the day fairly gray as well as cool. and in the afternoon and evening, a surge of air. and that front will stall right in northern massachusetts. northern mass and getting up into new hampshire, most of the day in the 40s and 50s. from the pike and areas southward, we'll be in the 60s to near 70 degrees in the afternoon. also some afternoon and evening rain showers, and on friday, we've got a chilly and blustery day to end out the week. temperatures in the 40s. the weekend looks pretty quiet. an ocean storm tries to develop.

so what do you do when you're traveling and not home to go trick or treating. >> one father on a flight came up with a great solution. a passenger on the plane posted these pictures on facebook saying omg, dad of the year just passed ou everyone on the flight so his 3- year-old could trick or treat. and we spoke with stephanie. >> they planned it for a little while once they knew they would be on the flight for halloween. but he was totally humbled. didn't want to be mentioned by name just was doing it because his daughter wanted to trick or treat. >> he didn't want his name out there.
