a couple brief showers on the southeast side. these are just about to cross route 1 and 95 and back out through the tip of essex county. concord a couple of light showers for you. so you'll need the wipers on up 93 from concord and back up to the lakes region of new hampshire. generally light right now. between now and mid-morning we may get a shower north of boston including the city its early afternoon at least around lunchtime mid-day is okay before another batch of showers comes in between 1 and 3:00. notice the south coast, south shore and cape cod are generally removed from a lot of the action. about 4, 5:00 just a left over shower and they'll be tapering off during the evening commute. chance of a shower this morning, 60 we'll call it on average, north of the pike it's going to

1. a quick sprinkle and there are a couple more on the way. so you'll need the wipers on there. a few more showers from new hampshire back south of manchester through nashua and right along the mass new hampshire border and a couple more light in rochester. there's another area of rain you notice back through western new york and pennsylvania. see the motion though of all of it kind of off to the east, n to pass to the north. we'll get some showers but most of it is going to be wrapping up by the time we get to the evening commute. so let's time things out. the next couple of hours you may get a shower, boston, metro west points north little if anything south of town. 10 a.m. some pockets of rain north of manchester back through concord. it's going to pour in parts of vermont, new hampshire and maine today. we get into some rain that develops from

boston, back into worcester county. notice who's removed from this, the south shore back down to the cape we may get a shower by the time we get to late afternoon or evening but it's going to be brief, passing, in fact the evening commute will be drying out for the most part with showers tapering off. so how much rain is going to fall? little if anything. maybe a 10th of an inch in plymouth and the closer you get 2-10ths. half an inch in more through manchester. 62 in boston but push near 70 south of town, and in the 50s the farther north you go. a lot of that has to do with the wind direction. it's going to shift around by the way out of the northwest later on and we'll be gusty about 20 to 30 miles per hour. not damaging though. partial clearing tonight, 40s in the suburbs, 57 downtown. we may

cooler air comes in. high only low 40s, upper 50s tomorrow. increasing sunshine so it will be a beautiful looking day. the weekend looks good too starting with a few clouds on saturday. it will be mixed in with the sunshine. there's another reenforcing shot of cool air. maybe a sprinkle or flurry saturday night into early sunday morning. otherwise the weekend is looking great, low 50s for high temperatures. don't forget we turn those clocks back 2 a.m. warming up near 60 for election day, quiet weather no reason not to vote and mid-50s on wednesday. checking roads south of the city and nothing to slow you down just yet, 95, an easy ride. route 3 along the south shore also in great shape. the split is wide open as well just a quick 10-minute drive up to the mass pike. today the mbta is taking new steps to keep passengers safe. they're teaming up with the boston rape

they are. most of us it's light hugging the coastline these are moving off to the east. a quick sprinkle near harvard. brief downpour northeast side of worcester along 290 and the 495 interchange. and along route 9, a couple light showers back to norwood. over the border in new hampshire nashua and salem dealing with pockets rain, they get heavier along 293 when you get back up near manchester. this is the first batch coming in. another area of rain back to our west, western new york and pennsylvania, notice the motion off to the east, northeast, well along this a lot of the areas to our north will see the steady rain while we'll see just some pockets of rain through early afternoon and then a left over shower after that. so between now and late morning a shower or

comes in and between noon and 1:00 the rain slides east, boston, metro west, southern new hampshire, worcester county, this is the map at 1:30. notice general who's generally removed the south coast, by 3:30, that batch is gone. we get a lingering shower through your evening commute but it will be scattered and then after that those taper off and partial clearing comes in. so it's not a ton of rain that f little if anything south of boston maybe around a 10th to a quarter in the city and more the farther north you go. that's where we'll see pockets of rain and cooler temperatures too. the low 60s in worcester appeared the warmest readings are going to be south of boston, that's where we still push 65 to near 70 degrees from norwood to plymouth and taunton, again greatest chance of a shower comes in by early evening for us
