hampshire and this race is one where i've been going out earning the support of the people. >> ayotte wrote in mike pence, distancing herself from the republican nominee, especially following the remarks about women. it cost her with this voter. >> it took her song to -- i don't want to say denounce trump but to change her mind. >> she's a well liked senator facing maggie hassan. making it a tough choice. but it's a straight republican ticket for some. >> i own a small business and it's very important to me. with the cost of healthcare and everything else. >> reporter: her supporters hope her lukewarm embrace of trump won't cost her votes. >> an unfortunate consequence

ayotte a slight edge but it depends on who turns out. i'm beth germano, wbz news. >> and it's not just the race for senate and president. >> massachusetts voters will decide on four ballot questions, two of them hotly contested. and ryan kath is live with more on question four. >> supporters will be gathering for question four when the polls close in a couple hours. that's the measure to legalize recreational marijuana. and here's what that would mean. people 21 years or older would be able to use or possess up to an ounce of marijuana. and households could grow up to a dozen plants. dispensaries wouldn't open until january of 2018. supporters argue it would create jobs, take pot out of the black market.

about how to enforce things like drunk driving and the sale of edibles which can be a danger to young kids. if the measure emerges victorious. it would be despite opposition from the attorney general and the mayor just to name a few. and louisa moller in the south end. supporters will be amassing soon. both sides spent hours at the polls today, trying to talk to voters to the very last second. a yes on question two would allow up to 12 new charter schools in massachusetts each year or an increase in enrollment in existing charter schools. governor charlie baker says it

we'll get back to the 30s. and every town should stay above freezing. and then we track changes in the weather. lows in the mid-30s to low 40s. i think boston will stay around 44 degrees for a low temp. and clouds will be increasing, especially after midnight. and by tomorrow morning, rain showers will be starting to move in across the interior. and those showers will push across as we head into the evening across cape cod and the islands. i don't think anyone is going to manage a quarter inch of rain. everything would be less than that. not the drought relief we would like to see. mild ahead of the front. 50s tomorrow afternoon. and a few towns in southeastern mass will likely hit 60 indonesia. once the front moves offshore. we're in the low 50s for highs and lots of sun.
