and senate as well. >> stay with us as we continue to follow the transition of power and for complete election results visit cbs boston.com. the coast guard is definitely -- desperately trying to find three missing fishermen off the cape. they left the marina in sandwich yesterday and then sadly never returned. that is when a friend called for help. wbz's katie grace is live with the story tonight. >> reporter: dave annalee so this is where they put the boat into the water and they never came back. the coast guard is searching for them right now and one member of the family told -- tells me they are still absorbing the shock of this news. fishing trip on take part -- cape cod bay was a family affair. mario fraley headed out with his cousin and that -- and his cousin's adult son dylan. they went out tuesday and were supposed to return to the

tonight firefighters are making progress in containing a giant fire at an old steel mill near from -- near buffalo. they say it all started with a light all that fell onto some cardboard that sparked the blaze, the fire so hot that the roof collapsed and more than 100 firefighters were on scene. there are no injuries. tonight a police officer is in salem locked up on rape charges. placed in protective custody on halloween. investigators say it was caught on security camera inside the police station and butler's attorney says the encounter was consensual. officer buffalo -- butler's wife is the chief of police. >> the actions of one person shouldn't reflect badly on the office and the people who are

and asking for privacy. a trooper involved in a deadly crash will spend the next four months in jail or -- jail as he was convicted of drunk driving but was cleared of causing the accident that killed her mother and daughter in plymouth three years ago. he's also been suspended from the force. a lot of people now want to know what happens next now that marijuana was legalized. starting december 15 anybody 21 and over can possess an ounce of pot in public and grow up to six marian it will be a wild before the state reap city tax benefits and stores won't start selling pot until january 2018 when the first dispensary licenses are approved. a video tonight, a fox -- stuck in a tough spot and getting much needed help from police officers. you can see the fox at his head -- somehow stuck in the storm drain. they used dish soap to slide his head out of the storm drain and it ran right off into the

temperatures get into the 50s but then hauled and fall during the afternoon. the wind starts gusting to 40 miles an hour in the afternoon. it will be out of the northwest and that will make it feel a lot colder as we head toward the evening. there you see the front sweeping across the region and through interior england -- new england and later toward the coastline. the wind will stay breezy on saturday but not terribly uncomfortable. just a crisp and cool start to the weekend and we will have dried what -- dry weather and then it's already heading out of town, turning southwest again and temps trump -- jump right back to the 50s. it's a nearly december day, bright skies, temps in the 40s, 50s and sunday is the pick of the weekend to be outside. a little milder, great weather for the patriots with temps around 44 degrees at kickoff at 8:30 and should be a pretty comfortable afternoon leading up to the game itself. and as we look toward sunday night we will have the full moon taking place, typically fall on monday morning but there will be tons of moonlight coming up at 4:15 so there will

a little more sunshine would be a welcome thing out here. tomorrow may lift the spirits a little bit with sunshine out there, temps in the low 50s on this cool crisp thursday as we look toward veterans day. the wind starts to pick around midday and as we get to the afternoon and evening a lot of wind gusting to 40 miles an hour so for any observances plan on that if you will be outside for sure. >> and the seahawks patriots game looks good, 50s during the day, 40s for gametime and i think the cool thing about this one is the full moon in the sky on sunday night. it arrives around 4:15 which is right when the tailgate starts.
