rogers street in billerica. state and local police at the scene of the location of a severe beating. a relative says she's 26 years old and lives in the home with her boyfriend and another female roommate. >> they took her to the hospital right away. and took him in handcuffs, took him out. >> reporter: how badly she? >> very bad. brain bleed and broken bones in her face. so i don't know if she's come to yet or not. >> reporter: police are saying more information will be released in court on monday. but doris -- says lindsay was the victim of a savage attack. >> he kicked her in the head. that's what they say.

shoes for evidence. he's going to court monday. >> reporter: and once again, lindsay -- is in critical condition. and billerica police and the district attorney's office not commenting, telling us more information will come out in court. also tonight, a baby found dead and two adults found unresponsive nearby. it happened at a home in marlborough. and the big question, how did this >> and police are still investigating what happened. christina hager is live in marlborough with the latest. >> reporter: this first came in as a call for two unresponsive adults in this home. fire officials tell us they were not moving or talking. and emts had reason to suspect an opiate overdose.

a neighbor saw a woman run to firefighters with a bundle in her arms. >> she kept saying my baby, my baby, i don't know what happened. >> reporter: fire officials say she was the grandmother. the baby was pronounced dead at the hospital. cell phone video shows what happened after, a young woman wheeled out. >> came out with a man in handcuffs. and he was walking out and the older woman went up said what did you do to my daughter? what did you do to my daughter? he wasn't responding. he was walking with the officer. and the female was sitting with her head down. >> i think it was overdose. >> reporter: the 19-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were taken to the hospital.

for opioid overdoses. the mother's cousin said it must have been drug related but he never before suspected that the two used drugs. >> i guess that was an accident. i don't think it was something intentional. >> according to that relative, the young mom and her boyfriend were in the hospital today. and they seem to be doing okay. the district attorney's office says no charges at this point. christina hager, wbz news. vice president elect mike pence is taking over the trump transition team taking the job away from new jersey governor chris christie. pence will play a big role in what the new team will look like. >> and we're getting a better idea of who may be on that team. >> christy is demoted to vice chair and there's an internal

a violent carjacking is sharing her remarkable story. barbara mccoy was on her way to a hair salon in connecticut and she thought she saw a car accident. she slowed down and cracked her window to see if anyone needed help. she heard a woman screaming to call 911 and a man wished to the car. >> and i meant to hit the windows and i probably hit unlock button. not on purpose. and in that quick moment, the man pushed her out of the way and threw my door open. >> mccoy is strained in martial arts. she tried to fight the attacker out. he got in the car and attacked her mother with a knife. police chased them from connecticut to massachusetts. no one was hurt.

cul-de-sac in worcester. christopher harding and a woman he was with who is not named are being charged with the crime. mccoy's mother likely needs surgery but she is expected to be okay. >> that's quite the story. today is veterans day, a day when we honor and thank the incredibly courageous men and women who served in the u.s. armed forces. the president laid a wreath at he later spoke to the crowd where he called for the country to come together following the election. massachusetts honored its veterans at the state house. governor charlie baker helped lead the tribute to veterans. there are 328,000 veterans here in massachusetts and many of those veterans have needed help getting their lives back on

middle of his shift, collect overtime money at the pool, and then return to his regular duties. >> it's a waste of money for the taxpayers. >> reporter: that lieutenant worked 34 shifts at dcr pools, earning $13,000 in overtime. >> to me it's outrageous. >> reporter: he's a former inspector general and calls a sweetheart deal for environmental police to pad their paychecks. take this sergeant. last year the officer doubled his $74,000 salary bringing home 161 grand. >> i question whether that's an efficient use of the police department to have a police officer being paid time and a half for sitting in a car in a parking lot. >> the i-team saw them occasionally go inside to

sitting in their trucks. >> reporter: and we saw police inside the pool not a person in sight. most officers are only allowed to work paid details after their shifts or on their days off. >> officers are leaving their job to work a detail and coming back, that's a real problem in managing the patrol force. >> reporter: to work a split shift. they have to of regular duties protecting natural resources and enforcing hunting and fishing laws. on july 28th. an officer punched in from 5:00 to 9 a.m. and was back on the clock for 30 minutes before finishing the

about the colder air moving in tonight. let's take a look at the forecast and how long the prime snow making conditions might be sticking around. temperatures falling through the 40s. this morning, beautiful and way up in the 50s. and now starting to feel the cooler air. we had the front move through and not a lot of rainfall. just the wind shift and bringing in the clearing. the winds have been the story of the day. gusting 40 miles per hour at times. still gusty th the course of the night. we have a wind advisory in place until 1:00 in the morning. and then the winds will start slacking off. you can expect gusts at times a little over 40 miles per hour. the winds are mainly northwest. and as we head to saturday morning, that's when they start to slacken off and get more comfortable. most of the weekend we'll keep a breeze. tonight, 20s to low 30s.
