with no on shore winds. mainly focused around a late morning and midday. here's a look at the high tide times. areas like hampton saw a lot of water inundation in october. you can likely expect that tomorrow. boston's high tide is 11:08. some of the walkways will fill up with places like more see boulevard may have to shut down. scituate harbor is another place that could see flooding. moving up the coast, you can see the winds, and they'll be turning on shore. showers begin by the morning. and areas of rainfall continue midday and into the afternoons. locally heavy downpours and a rumble of thunder. we'll take look at the timing coming up after that.

download the boston weather app. it will give you live radar. and it's all right there on your phone or tablet. a new plan to protect workers after two men were killed in the south end when a trench collapsed and flooded. the circumstances surrounding the death of the two workers were horrific. >> and then came the news that the company had a history of safety problems. >> reporter: this on dartmouth street where the accident happened a couple of weeks ago. two were killed in the trench. the mayor wants to create a position of safety officer to check all the permits so companies doing work in the city. >> the city of boston is really embracing the fact that worker health and safety should be something that the company is

in the city. >> reporter: it's been a long time coming. >> there are workers in a trench submerged we believe over 10 minutes. >> reporter: two workers died when a trench flooded and collapsed. the company they work for atlantic drain had a laundry list of past safety violations. in march, osha found seven violations including failing to have a five person rescue team avaie. $21,000 in fines. >> i've actually never seen an employer just have a distaste for occupational safety and health to such a degree. and sadly it cost two workers their lives. >> and now boston mayor marty walsh wants a safety officer to look for past violations. >> we're disappointed that unfortunately, it's not

be wondering about osha. they've been referred to in certain circles as a tooth less giant. authorities say steven burn balm was under the influence and speeding when he drove into the back of a shuttle, slamming it into a highway barrier in august. two to killed. also tonight. transition is underway. donald trump announcing two major members of his white house team. reince priebus and steven bannon. this comes on the same day we saw the first interview since becoming the president-elect. during the 60 minutes interview. donald trump stood strong on

>> would you accept a fence? >> for certain areas i would but in certain areas -- >> big weekend for trump. what did you make of everything that was said. >> there was a gap between the media and trump supporters. the media would jump on a trump statement. how can you say that? it's false. and his supporters didn't take his statements literally as if you're confused about whether to take the promises literally, chances are you're still confused. and while it didn't hurt him in the campaign, it's a whole new ball game as president-elect where a stray remark can crash the markets or touch off violence. and he's going to have to watch it going forward.

much for your insight. with oh, no tolerance policy for hate or violence, the attorney general is putting out a call to combat discrimination by phone. >> reporter: it's called a harassment hotline. attorney general -- announced launching it today. and i spoke with a college student who was targeted and harassed. >> and i heard him talk to the walked in and he said there's a -- muslim. >> a law student at harvard university says he was followed, targeted, and harassed while walking across mass avenue from one cambridge store to another. >> when he singled me out. it didn't feel great. but i knew i had to respond positively. >> her office has seen an

nation. she says the spite came immediately after the election. now less than a week later, she's launching a harassment hotline, a first by her administration to address and punish hate crime offenders. >> in massachusetts, people have rights. those rights are to be protected and the attorney general's office and others in law enforcement will stand at the ready to protect the rights >> and you can call in hate crimes as a witness. and attorneys will take calls on housing discrimination and wage theft. >> i don't believe in fighting hate and intolerance with more hate and i think, you know, the best things we can do in these situations is respond with

places to go where they'll be least likely to be caught. >> reporter: opposes sanctuary cities saying politicians are looking for votes. >> any elected official would suggest there should be a certain class of people that do not have to abide by our laws. >> and that's the debate. liam martin, wbz alert. weather is coming our way that could be disruptful. >> we want to get over to chief meteorologist eric fisher. >> that's the main story for tomorrow. we had that high water in october. and that was a time a couple inches shorter than this one. and it was a quiet weather day. and there'll be pockets of minor to moderate coastal flooding. inland flooding is not expected

tomorrow. and a fast moving system. and this is the one we're watching. clouds starting to move in. and they'll run into dry air. a lot of it won't reach the ground. we're not expecting any rain until we get to tomorrow morning. with the high clouds, you might notice a halo past the just full moon. it's another good evening to check it out. taking a look at temps, they are starting to fall back. and we're going to se readings drop back to the 30s. we'll stay in the 40s along the coastline where the clouds will be moving in a little bit more quickly. a late shower and temperatures in the 40s except for the areas we talked about. and when it comes to the winds, not much of it tonight. that's keeping it from being a significant event. there's not a lot of wave action. there's not a lot of time to build up the water and pile it up. that's good news for us.

a higher water event than what we saw in october. the winds will gust over 30 miles per hour at the shoreline. and there's the storm center tomorrow evening. that means the winds will change direction and head offshore. the high tide times you see across the board. in boston, a little after 11 a.m. and that's bringing the water over the sidewalks. we saw that in october. and places like getting on the seacoast. that's another area. scituate harbor. nantucket a place to watch. you know the areas if you live in these towns. the places that fill up with water first. we could see local road closures. and the time to watch is 10 a.m. to noon. as for the rainfall. a couple of showers for the morning commute. a few heavy downpours mixed and

clouds linger into wednesday morning. rain totals generally an inch to a half inch. i would wager more on a half inch. and some areas maybe one total inch. highs in the 50s for most of us. a will ill above average. and we're well above average for the rest of the week. afternoon sun on wednesday, sunshine on friday. and dry on saturday as we in with an on shore flow. and things start to change on sunday. we start to switch gears a little bit. more clouds, rain showers, and colder air. here's the accuweather 7-day forecast. and nice weather on sunday once the clouds melt away. thursday beautiful, friday gorgeous, and saturday dry. and sunday we bring in the next chance for showers. >> pretty good forecast.
