over the last couple of hours have filled in in spots in eastern massachusetts they'll be with us at times today. so depends on where you are more clear skies than farther through the interior you go. so intervals of sun and clouds sunrise coming up in 37 minutes from now. partly cloudy lunchtime wind from the northwest 5 to 15 miles per hour. we'll top out in the mid to upper 50s today another above average day of temperatures fair and quiet for your ride home. sunet cooling back through the lower 50s. we're watching traffic north of the city it's picking up here at the tolbin still moving on the zakim and stop and go on the leverett connector. further back on 93 south is where you might run into some problems. there was a construction crew running late around exit 46 here. they just finished but it's already pretty backed up.

so if that's part of your commute give yourself extra time. breaking overnight a commuter rail train hits a car and tears it right in half and it's all caught on camera. >> we're live on the scene. and police are still looking for 2 people. >> reporter: they are, no serious injuries were reported and the 2 people inside that vehicle did run away from the scene. it happened here and it was all caught on camera. i want to get you right to the video here . it was taken by a neighbor, you can see the vehicle pull up to the tracks the train slamming into it and again those 2 people inside the car somehow managing to get out, and running away from the scene. authorities did respond to the scene here, of course. the commuter rail was evacuated and everyone onboard was transferred to a different train but you can see the damage here is absolutely

search for those 2 people, no word this morning if they were located. that's the latest. a new clue in the mystery surrounding a jogger's murder. police are now searching for a dark colored suv. we're live in princeton with the new developments in the investigation. . >> reporter: it's been more than 3 months since marcott was murdered and police have not been able to find a suspected. they hope sharing this new l enforcement will help them find her killer. >> knowing that it hasn't been solved yet is very sad. >> signs along the quiet streets plea for justice for marcott. >> haven't really heard too much about it since maybe a few weeks after it happened. >> reporter: on wednesday investigators brought a new detail to the public's attention revealing they're searching for a dark colored suv seen by witnesses around the time of the

road near where her body was found. >> it really shock me up when it first happened, my step dad immediately went out and got mace for me and my mom to carry at all times and it was scary. >> the 27-year old was a google executive living in new york city she was visiting family the weekend she was killed. police say on august 7th they went out for a jog and never returned. sources say her body was found naked and burned. investigators believe her killer. police reminding people the man may have had scratches or injuries in the days after the attack. more than 1,000 tips have poured in since her death but it hasn't been enough. >> a little uneasy. i hope they catch them. >> reporter: state police are asking law enforcement to be vigilant and mindful of this investigation.

which is president elect donald trump has vowed to repeal. boston children's hospital plans to permanently close the guarden. there is a ceremony tonight to honor the guarden. it's at the center of a biter battle over the hospital's expansion. a group wants to save the area saying it's a sanction wear for patients and families. the hospital says the garden needs to go. students are protect themselves during a growing mumps outbreak. 9 students have been diagnosed alone. a letter was sent to students and staff saying you can get gill mumps because the vaccine wears off over time. manufacturers are getting better at making child booster seats that protect kids but there are still a few that

have video for you this morning showing exactly what happened. a neighbor's camera captured all of this. you can see the car pull up to the tracks here and the train slams right into it. the 2 people inside somehow managed to get out of that vehicle, and they ran away from the scene. authorities, of course, responded here to the scene. the commuter rail was evacuated and everyone onboard was transported to a different train they were transferred there. see the damage is absolutely extensive to that vehicle. right now police are telling us they did bring in k-9s to try to search for those 2 people from the vehicle. no word this morning this they were able to locate them. of course this situation is still under investigation. that's the very latest police searching for a suspect in a domestic violence case. police say a 22-year old

i think they thin out. you see sunshine at times and break apart a bit through afternoon. not a ton of weather going onto our south, to our west. that's our quiet weather the next couple of days. meantime it is snowing in montana down through wyoming and utah. winter storm warnings, advisories and this red is a blizzard warning that has been issued for parts of south dakota and minnesota. so winter weather in the northern eventually going to bring us a pattern shift behind is it to much colder weather for the start of next week. and much of thanksgiving week in fact. high pressure in control for now means another day of above average temperatures northwest wind highs in the 50s to near 60s, i think we'll fall shy in spots today. around 60 again tomorrow too. what's happening to start the weekend, we've got weather coming in all different directions. there's a storm out over the ocean that's going to

storm that will impact the northern plains tonight and tomorrow. snow on the backside of it. we shouldn't have to worry about that here but the mountain and northern new england could pick up a couple inches of fresh snow by the time the weekend is down. we'll see an increase in clouds and a couple of showers possible by sunday. that's the reason saturday is the pick which is perfect timing for the wbz holiday spectacular right here on wbz at 8:00. notice as the queen our temperature up so we'll only gradually crews back through the 40s as we head into the start of that celebration. 50s today, northwest breeze, middle to upper 50s in the southeast part of the state. the weekend, again, saturday the pick, increasing clouds at the coast, there will be some showers on sunday and it does turn colder by the evening. that's the shift coming in 40s for start of next week may be a
