a cape cod teen girl on the way to the school bus. bourn police have arrested 18- year-old john allen saying that one week ago he grabbed a 14- year-old girl from behind and threw her to the ground. the victim and suspect live on the same street. allen will be arraigned tomorrow. also breaking, a shooting on connell at street in dorchester. the victim has life-threatening injuries. we have a crew on the way and

student taking responsibility for the deadly drunk driving crash that killed his friend. the victim, a student at end cannot college. i'm liam mart snipe and i'm paula ebben. the 20-year-old had a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit when he crashed his car last spring. jim? >> reporter: paula, this is a tragedy for everyone, and it was a heart-breaking day in th father spoke out through his tears. >> i hope that our loss, as painful as it is, can maybe prevent someone else from having the same loss. >> reporter: fred sampson, junior is a broken man. craig was only 19 years old,

and the endicott college student was killed when the car he was in crashed, a car driven by his close friend. today, the close friend, joseph castano, agreed to plead guilty with a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit and will spend th years in jail. >> he recognizes it's never going to be enough to doing what he is doing but it's all he can do. >> reporter: castano's family walked him into court. sampson's father has a message for anyone who will listen. >> alcohol was a factor in this. people made decisions to drink. people made decisions to drive. please, please, please, please

make those decisions. >> reporter: in addition to those three and a half years in jail castano will be on probation for three more years and must remain alcohol and drug free and loses his driver's license for 15 years. jim smith, wbz news. tonight, a follow-up to an i-team investigation after the i-team exposed job perks. ryan kath has more. >> reporter: there is a top to bottom review of the policies it it was shown that hundreds of officers racked up overtime hours. they punched in at the public pools and worked the overtime on a daily basis, doubling their salaries.

opinion but not your own facts? some people are very gullible about the stories. buzz feed, a legitimate website, analyzed the final three months on facebook and looked at how often users would fair shake stories about how pop -- pope francis endorsed trump, facebook users shared, liked, or commented on them 8.7 million times and on the flip side, people interacted with the top 20 legitimate election stories nearly 1.5 million fewer times, disturbing. >> it makes an impact. how can you tell as an average citizen who's real and what's fake? >> reporter: it's not that easy. you're on line a lot.

on the money watch, a popular brand of cheese recalled because of salmonella concerns. the grated parmesan and romano cheeses were sold nationwide all in glass jars. the company said the recall is just precautionary. no reports of i'llnesss. makers of seats are boosting the safety. the insurance institute for highway safety said of the 53 new seats, 48 have received the top rating. only two models, both made by doral juvenile, were not recommended. this is a big improvement. when the agencies first started testing them eight years ago, only a quarter of them got top marks. you want black friday savings before black friday? your credit card could help you out. some are offering price protection.

a deadly and destructive natural gas explosion in illinois. a utility worker has been killed and several buildings damaged in the blast. investigatorssay that a contractor caused the leak while digging there. three utilities workers were there when it hit. a hot air balloon carrying four people made an emergency landing in philadelphia. heavy winds forced the pilot to baseball field. a thief in texas who literally stole the kitchen sink. a family restoring their home had surveillance cameras set up outside when the contractor went to run for parts and the guy in the trailer pulled up, grabbed the kitchen sink and two bathroom sinks and a garbage disposal. >> enterprising. >> i guess so. just a little weird that are he knew that the contractor was

gorilla enclosure was not up to standards. in may, a young boy got into the enclosure and zookeepers shot and killed the gorilla, harambe, to get the boy to safety. a report out from the u.s. surgeon general, and he wants to change the way americans think about drug and alcohol addiction. the surgeon general said that addiction is a chronic brain disease, not a character flaw or a he calls it a moral test for america and want its treated the same way we treat chronic diseases like heart disease. researchers found that children who drink 1% milk were three times more likely to be overweight, and whole milk drinkers had healthier levels of vitamin d. whole milk makes you feel whole.

a lancaster turkey farm rebounding after a devastating fire. for a while, it looked like bob's turkey farm would not recover. >> but thanks to hard work and a lot of help, the family farm's booming once again, it's the busiest time of year at bob's. getting 6000 turkeys ready for tables with a thousand with a reprieve until christmas. >> we have been buying here forever. we love it. >> reporter: it has been open
