7:20 am
the wind is light out of the north. not much wind today. the wind will go in the northeast and keep the coast cooler. the clouds are going to be coming in along the coast. they have moved in along southeastern massachusetts. so hour by hour in boston, it's 46 at 8:00, a few scattered clouds starting to show up. you can see the cloud bank ready to move in. by 10:00s is probably -- by 10:00 it's cloudy. how about yesterday's high? yes. out in 66, etch el and new hampshire 66. dan ver same story. mill is 62 degrees. the high temperatures today will be a little bit lower but there could be a few pockets back in here which will go near slightly over 60. along the coast decidedly cooler because it will be more wind coming in from the ocean. with the clouds moving in, 50s there as well. it will be chilly all across the west. where is the warm spot?

82 in phoenix for today. so we have this low pressure center here. the cold front is on its way. it has a narrow sliver of showers with it. that's what will come through here first thing tomorrow morning. not much happening after that except a lot of wind will be here tomorrow. the temperature will drop a few degrees during the day from the upper 40s in the morning to the lower to middle 40s in the afternoon. so here's the present position of this cloud bank. it's just turnedover cast in taunton. it's going to continue to press off to the west into boston later this morning, starting to show up certainly on the northshore, cape ann area, moving into boston. slowly pressing westward this afternoon. but holding in place until it gets to about dark. then that will expand more quickly westward and the clouds move in from the west. we have a fewer scattered showers here. sprinkles overnight by morning it's this band of showers that come on through and we've got the snow in the mountains of western new england in the berkshires and up through

that's right. live, we're awake and alive. barry is bringing us our weekend forecast. >> hi, everybody. it's essentially clear across much of new england but it isn't over southeastern massachusetts where the cloud bank has just moved past hanover. it's on the southshore communities. it's getting closer to boston. but it's all clear off to the west. it's a chilly start this foxboro yet from our weather cam at the stadium on the network. still 40 degrees there. of course, pats out in san fran country this weekend for the game against the 49ers coming up for tomorrow. for us, there is a band right there, you can see it heading slowly westward. it's going to make slow progress today as this band comes faster toward the east. so you've got the squeeze play going on here. but we won't get any rain today or tonight. we're looking at temperatures today which are going to be up

spectacular. you can see the temperatures as we go through the evening hours. it looks like it will be just fine and all around boston and fall slowly into the upper 40s. it will be essentially cloudy. how about november so far? well this has been one warm week for sure, especially with yesterday's low middle 60s, we have red squares all across the board there. that's for sure. so the average -- the mean temperature for the month is just short of three degrees. so that's pretty impressive. we're going to have a cold week coming up just had. we have lower 50s. but farther inland it might be a couple of spots that may touch 60 degrees. here is all the cold air sweeping across the nation. orlando today will be 80. it will be 82 out in phoenix. so this front is on its way. it's been producing all that heavy snow, especially minnesota, now some snow maybe a few snow showers near chicago.
7:46 am
this swath will only be around for a short period of time. what's coming in today is this cloud bank which is all overcast. the cape, the cloud bank now up through about hanover not quite to randolph yet. but it certainly is all overcast in taunton, moving off to the north west as such and will continue moving in that general direction. so we're looking at the cloud cover to just slowly press into the western suburbs and then most of the region is going to be on the sunny side today with the showers coming in later to so we have a brief burst of showers. out there it's going to be a brief burst of snow in the berkshires and green mountains. this will lift up quickly tomorrow morning. it's not going to last long. we'll see bursts of sunshine but also a lot of clouds rotating on through. the snow showers will be rather pronounced as we go into the mountains. so we'll see a few inches out there, especially northern -- in northern new hampshire, for
7:47 am
snow showers possibly on monday. on thanksgiving day it should be a nice day. my forecast showing that it's going to be about 47 for a high. we'll start out with some sunshine. it turns cloudier as the day goes along. but overall, thanksgiving is looking good. traveling weather next week should be good here in eastern -- in massachusetts and much of new england and, in fact, not too bad over much of the country. except some stormy weather out west. but a lot of wind and cold the next few days. >> oh, boy, barry. all right. still m we'll be right back.
