weeks and weeks of warm weather. they're finally getting the cold shot here. but the cold air hasn't made it down to florida yet. it will be 80 in orlando today. here's the cold front on its way with the milder air ahead of it. a narrow sliver of showers which we will experience first thing tomorrow morning. it won't last long. it will come down mostly light but a few pockets within that line of light rain. we'll have moderate showers and then it's done. but behind it we'll have the -- a lot of wind and a lot showers in the mountains of western northern new england where it will accumulate. here is this bank of cloudness that is slowly pressing westward. it will be in a line of just east providence, almost up to boston. so mainly close to the i-95 corridor by 11:00 to noontime. and then slowly that will try to press westward but won't make progress until late afternoon. it's just here that it's going to be cloudy all day and right

then we might have some specks of mist coming in from the ocean and may be a sprinkle or so this evening. but that will be it. it should be nothing more than that. note during the night, this bank of showers comes northeastward so in the early morning hours that bank of showers will come through boston. the snow showers in the mountains and we'll stay 9040s for the most part during tomorrow and then we're looking at the snow which may accumulate up to several inches, two to four inches possibly and then higher elevation in the ten inches in far north vermont and new hampshire. as far as going for halloween travel, it's looking pretty good to me across much of the eastern part of the nation. for us, for thanksgiving, some more sunshine a late day shower is possible. it should be a pretty good day overall with a temperature around 47 degrees for thanksgiving day. then there will be some showers on friday. so this week is going to be much colder than last week was. it's going to be a lot of wind starting tomorrow morning.

82 in phoenix for today. so we have this low pressure center here. the cold front is on its way. it has a narrow sliver of showers with it. that's what will come through here first thing tomorrow morning. not much happening after that except a lot of wind will be here tomorrow. the temperature will drop a few degrees during the day from the upper 40s in the morning to the lower to middle 40s in the afternoon. so here's the present position of this cloud bank. it's just turnedover cast in taunton. it's going to continue to press off to the west into boston later this morning, starting to show up certainly on the northshore, cape ann area, moving into boston. slowly pressing westward this afternoon. but holding in place until it gets to about dark. then that will expand more quickly westward and the clouds move in from the west. we have a fewer scattered showers here. sprinkles overnight by morning it's this band of showers that come on through and we've got the snow in the mountains of western new england in the berkshires and up through

sources tell cbs news the fbi is alerting police all across the country about a potential terrorist attack around thanksgiving. it specifically warns of home-grown terrorists citing potential targets like malls, special events and crowded venues. the mayor says there is no specific threat to the boston area. and a campus scare at boston university. police in the s.w.a.t. team swarm the school when a caller said they were barricaded with guns a fourth floor of the library. the building was evacuated. some classes were even canceled. but the incident turned out to be a hoax. police are still trying to figure out who made that call. a high school football star charged with attacking a girl on cape cod pleaded not guilty as at arraignment friday. prosecutors say john allen grabbed the 14 year old and tried to strangle her as she walked to a bus stop in bourne last week.

this swath will only be around for a short period of time. what's coming in today is this cloud bank which is all overcast. the cape, the cloud bank now up through about hanover not quite to randolph yet. but it certainly is all overcast in taunton, moving off to the north west as such and will continue moving in that general direction. so we're looking at the cloud cover to just slowly press into the western suburbs and then most of the region is going to be on the sunny side today with the showers coming in later to so we have a brief burst of showers. out there it's going to be a brief burst of snow in the berkshires and green mountains. this will lift up quickly tomorrow morning. it's not going to last long. we'll see bursts of sunshine but also a lot of clouds rotating on through. the snow showers will be rather pronounced as we go into the mountains. so we'll see a few inches out there, especially northern -- in northern new hampshire, for

what exactly is it that you do? >> our largest program is called healthy families. it reaches out to first-time parents 20 and under and sends a trained professional in to work with those patients to make sure that they have skills to make sure that they understand child development, to make sure that they're looking at what do they need to do in order to be a good parent, and that program which has been evaluated by university has shown that these young women, 70% who weren't in school, not only go back to school they graduate high school and they are twice as likely to have completed a year of college. >> well they're so young. >> they're so young. >> they're 20 and under, right? >> exactly. >> wow. this is really good. >> it's great to get in there early because we know zero to 3 is when the bulk of the little brain develops. and if there's too much stress, that brain doesn't develop. >> yes.
