6:17 am
us. we'll have pressures rising rapidly this afternoon and that's going to mean a lot of wind. how about the temperature, will that rise much? we don't see it rise much. it's going to level off in the middle 40s by late this morning and holding there to about mid afternoon, then after that it starts falling so we'll be down about 38 in boston by 7:00 this evening. these -- these are your current temperatures up in england it's in the 40s. floating with 50 over southeastern mass. there is a storm which is developing right in here and the cold air is whipping around and coming up at us. we don't get our coldest air when it comes this way, we get it when it comes from the northwest and north. so we're looking alt those highs today across the nation. even down in florida, it's going to be chillier. yesterday was 80 or so in

air across the northern states. here is the low center developing right now over northeastern connecticut and moving across the border into south central massachusetts, heading toward northeastern massachusetts with its narrow swath of rain which has been post rotting through rather quickly. we have snow on the backside, it's going to amount to a few inches there in the higher elevations in the berkshires extending to the green mountains of vermont. the highest amount be in northern vermont. scattered coatings are possible into the higher hills of the wooster county area, just a few scattered snow showers or flakes of snow possible around here as this whole thing sort of whips along. most of the action is going to be occurring farther and farther north of boston where snow showers will fall and not much close to the coast. we'll have some breaks of sunshine from time to time. that will last right on through tomorrow. now wind advisory up from the

6:24 am
warfarin interferes with vitamin k and at least six blood clotting factors. xarelto? is selective targeting one critical factor of your body's natural clotting function. for people with afib currently well managed on warfarin, there is limited information on how xarelto and warfarin compare in reducing the risk of stroke. like all blood thinners, don't stop taking xarelto without talking to your doctor, as this may increase your risk of a blood clot or stroke. while taking you may bruise more easily, and it may take longer for bleeding to stop. if you take certain medicines. xarelto can cause serious, and in rare cases fatal bleeding. get help right away for unexpected bleeding, unusual bruising or tingling. if you have had spinal anesthesia while on xarelto watch for back pain or any nerve or muscle related signs or symptoms. do not take xarelto if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. tell your doctor before all planned medical or dental procedures. before starting xarelto tell your doctor about any conditions, such as kidney, liver or bleeding problems.

6:39 am
. good morning everybody. the patriots are washingtoning on unfamiliar grounds. people are wondering how the team can get better.
6:40 am
better defense. we know the particulars. this fit last year, it is the why beginning 7 didn't practice all week long. it's the reason why he didn't make the trip to san fran. he's out for the game. pats use this week to practice, to fix all their problems this upcoming game has meaning, it's tom brady's homecoming. so it's a big deal and getting back in the win column would be the best item for everybody. >> we just kind of take the same no matter if as a win or loss, you've to move on and learn from your mistakes or from your short comings from the past week. and just get ready for the next opponent. >> moving on. no gronk means bennett will step in and fill the void. he sat down with steve for patriots game day and told steve he's happy to take on any role as a patriot. >> you know me i'm like
6:41 am
any time. i never come into the hud -- there's ebbs and flows to the game. i know at some point it's going to come our way. each week my role is different. i may get to block more than catch the ball, it doesn't bother me. i feel like i'm contributing the to the team any way i can. >> oh microwave marty. see the rest interview. pats kick off at 4:25. to basketball now. finally the celtics were whole again. horford missed nine games and crowder missed eight games. both players were back last night as they travel to detroit. . the c's taking on the pistons. jae crowder from downtown. welcome back. he finished with nine. al horford the rainbow, we like

6:43 am
that is a one-timer. goal! same result. >> some games you feel good and the puck seems to find you and that was kind of one of those games tonight. i feel like when it bounced, it was going to come to me. those other games were, you know, you do everything the same and you don't get the puck at all, that's just how hockey is sometimes. >> college football. harvard taking on yale. the 133rd edition of the tied at 14-14 with three minutes left. puts the bulldogs up 21-14. that's how it would end. yale gets the upset. they beat harvard. more college football and matt ryan was at the heights yesterday. he had his jersey retired at half time. this was a good bc weekend. owing thes won 30-0.
6:44 am
ranking in 2007. >> we had some great players, great wins, you know, the divide in the locker room is what you would expect. we were tight. we had a tight knit group of guys and who had put in a lot of hard work together and kind of, you know, saw it come to life on the field. and it was awesome to be a parred of it. some of my best football memories. >> big fan of mine. tough day for the football team. they got beat by the cougars. you don't need to know the score, you just need to know they got beat pretty bad. the yolk of the egg is white or the egg white is. that's sports this morning. >> oh, man. you should see -- >> try and trick us on this. >> every time he gives the answer you feel so stupid, right? because you can't figure it out until he gives the answer.
6:45 am
not get that? >> i'm saying i can't even think about it now because i have all this weather information. >> we don't want to overdo it. >> but it's fun, though. >> we'll have the answer in the 7:00 hour for you. so what about our weather forecast. >> i think i have the answer to the weather questions. >> all right. >> and -- >> are you sure? >> do i have that puzzled look on my face like i'm not sure now. let's see what is happening. >> let's go to in adams, massachusetts. oh, man, 31 out there in moderate to heavy snow out there this morning at the plunkett elementary school all up and down the berkshires and now up in the green mountains. they've got snow falling out there. but that's not coming this way. in andover the local -- location there, we have 48 degrees at the lawrence technical high school. the middle school is 46 degrees. these are the current numbers
6:46 am
massachusetts. this is likely the warmest part of the day happening right now because the temperatures are going to starts falling. it's going to fall off a few degrees and then level off through mid-day, early this afternoon. then let's this afternoon, start to tumble more significantly down in the upper 30s by -- i would say around 6:00 or 7:00 in boston. so here is the upper 30s out here. again, as massachusetts with this snow falling it's 31. here is all the cold air to the west. it's spreading out. we've got some teens and single phubs numbers up in canada. it is g t next several days. we've had lots of warm weather this past week. the high today happening right now. again falling temperatures later today. and much of the nation is cooled off quite a bit. that includes all the way down to the gulf coast, texas, down in florida it's cooled off. it's still pretty nice out there but cooler than it has been. the only place in freedom. high pressure is really in control in much of the country. here in the northeast we've got this developing low which is
6:47 am
eastern massachusetts now. it's continuing to develop but it's moving off very rap lid -- rapidly. it's moving on through. we had brief heavy downpours on spots. we have some precipitation rolling around, sort of circulating around in here. we might have a couple of showers passing along here as the day goes along. but light, brief showers with the snow continuing to fall on this blue shading extending up into the northern portions of new england where they will get a into vermont. scattered coatings possible later tonight. just a few flakes closer to boston in some of the northern and western suburbs as we see that happening. so again, watch most of the action out here as the temperatures go down this afternoon and looks like we're going to have good traveling here for the thanksgiving holiday week across motion of the nation. it does look like we are in for
6:48 am
thanksgiving day, i think clouding over in the morning with maybe a couple of showers or touch of mist in the afternoon. buff the road races and the football games should be in pretty good shape with a light breeze on thanksgiving. so here is the trivia for this hour. it's all about thanksgiving day. and we've had some cold thanksgiving days in boston. and the coldest was in 1901 when the temperature was what? did it get up to 14, 19, 24, or 29? >> "c". >> just take a guess. you guessed pretty well. >> they say you should always go with "c" when you're not sure. >> 24 degrees. >> that was the high temperature for the day. >> wow. >> it will be a lot higher than that this thanksgiving. >> thank goodness. it's going to be a chilly week. thank you, barry. well a beloved jumpist remembered yet in washington, d.c. more on the service for gwen ifill coming on -- coming up on

for people with afib currently well managed on warfarin, there is limited information on how xarelto and warfarin compare in reducing the risk of stroke. like all blood thinners, don't stop taking xarelto without talking to your doctor, as this may increase your risk of a blood clot or stroke. while taking you may bruise more easily, and it may take longer for bleeding to stop. xarelto may increase your risk of bleeding if you take certain medicines. xarelto can cause serious, and in rare cases fatal bleeding. get help right away for unexpected bleeding, have had spinal anesthesia while on xarelto watch for back pain or any nerve or muscle related signs or symptoms. do not take xarelto if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. tell your doctor before all planned medical or dental procedures. before starting xarelto tell your doctor about any conditions, such as kidney, liver or bleeding problems. to help protect yourself from a stroke, ask there's more to know.elto. xarelto.
