colored suv scene near the crime scene and that the killer was probably familiar with the area. david? lisa, this video was shocking, a woman in her 70s in a crosswalk was hit by a minivan that took off. but police tracked down that driver and he was in court today. christina hager is in chelsea with the latest. >> reporter: that woman was left with a cut on her hair line and em hospital with a neck brace. and she is okay but the man accused of hitting her is facing serious charges. anne overruled hernandez tracked down after a search that police circulated from a street camera that shows a 72- year-old woman knocked to the ground in a crosswalk. the driver continuing on, his estranged wife coming to see him in court, shocked. >> i can't believe this is happening.

his kids, who took care of me. he did everything he had to do. >> reporter: but police say it was hernandez in the van and several witnesses saw it, and he would have had to have known he did it. his defense attorney, francisco napolitano. >> he saw the lady and at one point he saw her in the rear- view mirror and had no idea he had hit her, didn't hear anything out of the ordinary, no bump, and that he made contact with another object. he continued. >> reporter: slightly different from the story he gave officers according to the police narrative in court papers. he told the officer as he was looking in one direction, a woman banged her hand on the hood of his car. as he drove away, he saw the woman fall to the ground. it took a day for police to find hernandez at his workplace

breaking news out of tennessee, a terrible school bus crash. searchers are telling the cbs station in chattanooga, tennessee at least 12 people are dead. we know the bus here crashed into the house. we do not know the ages of the victims. there were 35 kids on the bus coming from an elementary school. we know the bus driver survived and is cooperating with investigators. we are working to get new

in april, spring. and this wind has been knocking off the last stubborn leaves and the wind advisory across the south shore and the coast and we could see the gusts in the 40 to 50 miles per hour range. the storm systems across southeastern canada, spinning snow across new york state into the berkshires and connecticu exceptional totals for the season and this energy in the middle of the country will be the weather for thanksgiving day, but until then, it's about the chill. wind chills in the teens and 20s and air temperature in the 20s, so bundle up as you are heading outside. the feels like temps, teens and lower 20s. out the door tomorrow morning, same idea, mainly in the teens and maybe the last day of work or school for the week.

a bit of improvement, a couple of degrees warmer and less wind and gusts at 30 to 35 miles per hour out of the northwest and more sunshine, a mix of sun and clouds and a chilly evening. once the sun goes down, we'll dip into the 20s again. in terms of highs, in the low 40s across eastern mass and it will be another cold day for this time of the season, and then as we look forward wednesday, no travel issues tuesday or wednesday, all dry chilly, and wednesday is the brightest day of the whole week and temperatures in the 40s. but as we head into thanksgiving, a weak system from the west will create a gray and cold day and locked in the 30s, and a bit of light precipitation breaks out. since it's cold, that will be in the storm of a few snow showers and freezing drizzle. just a little glaze of ice can
