police say a more complex picture of the attack has emerged. >> a male suspect drove a vehicle over the curb and struck pedestrians. he exited the vehicle and used a butcher knife to start cutting pedestrians. our officers were on scene in less than a minute and ended the situation in less than a minute. >> nine people were quickly transmitted to hospitals. >> there we related to lacerations or cuts most likely from the stab wounds from the butcher knife. and a number of people had orthopedic and soft issue injuries related to being hit by the car. >> officials are working with the university to learn more about the suspect and a possible motive. terrorism has not been ruled out. >> we'll continue to work with the students, faculty, and staff to make this the safest

this sets the stage for a chance for iciness. this is the area to watch. worcester northward to new hampshire and western mass and areas outside of 128. and temperatures will likely be at or below freezing. and that can create an icy glaze in the morning commute. especially focusing from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. you can see that first band moving in. and the biggest question mark tomorrow is will ground. will it be so light that barely any of it reaches the surface. the longer it takes to reach the ground, the lower chances we have for icy spots. this is a spot to keep a close eye on weather conditions. and then from lunchtime on ward it warms up. and we have regular rainfall. throughout the afternoon into the evening. heavy at times, especially south of the pike. and that can create some nasty driving conditions through the

live from the channel 4 studios in boston, this is wbz news at 5:30. now at 5:30. a hit-and-run caught on camera has turned deadly. the man hit as he was leaving a bar died from his injuries. the 25-year-old victim was from brockton. >> police tell us the driver turned himself in over the weekend. bill shields brockton, bill -- friends were out drinking and came here friday morning and stepped out in the street. a car hit one of them, killing him. he lived for several hours, he has now died. but the driver that hit him in the street took off northbound. and we're told that someone of interest came to police and turned himself in but has not been arrested.
