and you are bumper to bumper already from braintree all the way up to the pike and the o'neill tunnel. you're approaching 30 minutes right now to get from braintree into boston. an update on breaking news in milton. state police say two people were kill whd a car hit a tree on brush hill road and burst into flames. a third person in that vehicle survived and was taken to boston medical center. the cause of this crash is still under investigation. and breaking overnight, one person rushed to the hospital over a shng this happened near devon and normandy streets not far from a playground and a middle school. no word on the victim's condition. also breaking overnight, a car slams into a campus police cruiser in boston, and we're getting new information from police at this hour. nicole jacobs is live in roxbury with the details. nicole. >>reporter: nick, there are three incidents police are investigating this morning, and they just confirmed at least two of them are connected. they all happened in close proximity and in a very short

video this morning. boston police are confirming that a vehicle was speeding away from the ruggles street area right near the "t" station where shots were reported to have been fired. that vehicle crashed into a wentworth campus police cruiser. we know one person was taken into custody, three others reportedly ran away from that scene. then a short distance away on mcgrievey street, more shots were reported to have been fired where two vehicles were you can see the windows completely shattered there. again, campus police are -- or i should say that campus police officer who was inside the cruiser was taken to the hospital for evaluation. and all of this, of course, remains under investigation. it has yet to be determined if that mcgrievey street incident is connected to the other two. we'll let you know as soon as we get more information. that's the very latest from roxbury, nicole jacobs, wbz this morning

the patriot's rob gronkowski set to undergo surgery and the team announces they expect to miss gronk for the rest of the season. what does this mean in the short term for the steve? wbz's steve burton has the latest re. >>reporter: the pat's orches is at its best when the patriots play at full power. gronk is facing a third back surgery since 2009. on westward 1 radio tom brady talked about the loss of his top target. >> you know, i've see last few days so i've spoken to him a few times. everyone is thinking about him and what he's gone through. it's such a physical sport. it's hard to see people that you care about go through injuries, and he's gone through his fair share, but i also know the resolve that he had, and that will never change with him. he'll be as determined as ever to get back and get better as soon as possible. >>reporter: dr. thomas gill, the former patriot's team doctor says that gronk's -- if gronk's injury is to a disk

the past, it would make recovery even more difficult. >> what happens is every time you take out a piece of a difng, the vertebrae gets close -- disk, the vertebrae gets closer and closer together. the closer the vertebrae gets together, two things happen, one, it lets the nerves get pinched more, so you end up having leg pain, but also as the vertebrae get closer, they start rubbing and that causes a lot of back pain. >>reporter: meanwhile the pats quarterback knows losing gronk won't make things easy, but it's next man up. >> we have a lot of good players on our team that are going to need to and it's a big void left by such a spectacular player like gronk. >>reporter: brady said even without gronk the patriots will not give up on what they're trying to accomplish and that's take home another, a fifth super bowl championship. from foxborough, steve burton, wbz sport spos. guys, back to you. >> steve, back to you. -- steve, thank you. the patriots and gronkowski families released a statement overnight, saying in part we do not expect he will be able to play football for the remainder of the 2016 season.

we have a happy update this morning. two dorchester pop warner teams have raised enough money to go to the national championships at disney world and they are leaving today. the eagles have raised more than $20,000 in less than two weeks, thanks to donations from

upper 30s. temperatures will be in the upper 30s for the start of next week. clouds increase again on tuesday, chance of some rain and snow showers tuesday night into wednesday, breana >> all right, danielle, thank you. we have a live look at 93 south. a couple of accidents we want to tell you about. first one is in andover on 93 south. this is at exit 44 right at 495. traffic is backing up to methune. we also have an accident in chelsea on the tobin bridge. also heading southbound it's on the on ramp from traffic building there. making headlines at 6:18, surge pricing no longer just applies to ride sharing but parking in boston. the pilot program starts next month and is going to allow the city to adjust meter rates in the back bay and seaport neighborhoods based on demand. for one year all meters in the back bay will increase to $3.75 per hour at all times. in seaport, meanwhile, prices will go up gradually, and by the end of the year could be as much as $4 an hour on streets with high demand.

he crashed his car while speeding and streaming it live on facebook. officers say the rhode island man was driving 100 miles an hour and weaving in and out of traffic when he lost control on wednesday. he crashed into a garbage truck, then crossed three lanes of route 6 and hit a concrete barrier. he could face charges. new rules for duck boats in boston. a bill passed by state lawmakers yesterday requires duck boats to have blind spot cameras an doubling as tour guides, a little too much multitasking lawmakers found. the regulations follow a series of accidents including a woman killed by a duck boat riding a scooter near boston common back in april. the legislation is now on governor baker's desk for review. a massachusetts woman who spent more than six hours traped in a ski gondola was just awarded $750,000. the pittsfield woman sued killington mountain in vermont. she claims she suffered from

one person was taken to boston medical center. no word on their condition. also breaking overnight, a car slams into a campus police cruise irin boston, and we're -- cruiser in boston and we're getting new information from police. >> nicole jacobs live in roxbury for us. what have we learned so far, nicole? >>reporter: nick, of the three incidents that happened overnight that police are now investigating, we now know two of them are connected, and they all happened in a very close proximity of one another and a ry video this morning. boston police now confirm that a vehicle was speeding away from the area of the ruggles "t" station when that same vehicle crashed into a wentworth campus police cruiser. we know one person was taken into custody, three others reportedly ran away from the scene after that crash. then a short distance away on mcgrievey street more shots were fired where two vehicles were hit by bullets.

we know the campus police officer who was inside the cruiser at the time of that crash was taken to the hospital for evaluation, but police are still trying to determine if the mcgrievey street shots fired is in any way related to the cruiser crash and the shots fired just a short distance away on ruggls street. all of that is still under investigation this morning. we'll continue to keep you updated. that's the very latest from roxbury, nicole jacobs, wbz this morning. an autopsy today may along the meramec river in lawrence. a woman walking her dog found the decapitated body off waters street near the boys and girls club. investigators eventually recovered the head nearby. foul play is suspected, but the person has yet to be identified. friends and family of 16-year- old lee manuel paulino gathered across from the crime scene, fearing the body is his. the teen was reported missing in mid-november. paulino's father says he's devastated but he's holding out

my mind. i'm so scared. i'm nervous. i can't eat, i can't -- oh, i can't even focus right now. >> i'm hoping for the best. i hope it's not him. >> the teen's family is keeping in close communication with investigators. the d.a.'s office says until the medical examiner makes an i.d., they will not speculate on who it might be. it's 6:34. we've learned the mother accused of helping dispose of her toddler's body will stand trial in february. rachelle bond is charged as an accessory death of her 2-year-old daughter bella. bella bond's body was found on deer island in june of 2015. it took several months, as you'll recall, to identify her. police believe rachelle bond's boyfriend, michael mccarthy killed the child. a terrifying robbery caught on camera. right now lowell police are searching for two armed men that held up this liquor store. police say one of the men was wearing a "scream" mask and they were armed with a handgun and a sawed off shotgun. surveillance video shows them
