project. we do have a lane blocked but no delays as a result of that project. a house fire in camden sent three people to the hospital, including two police officers. a man had to be rescued from a burning home. katy zachry is live in camden where investigators are still looking into what caused that fire. katy? >> the fire broke out just after 11:00. we were on scene shortly after. channel 10 has exclusive video of a firefighter from camden after he was injured being treated at the back of an distance. we understand he is okay. he did not leave the scene in the ambulance. he was treated at the scene. but this fire broke out in the 600 block of cane avenue just after 11:00. the home was vacant but we understand from firefighters first on scene that there was one person inside the home. he was injured, had to be rescued by firefighters. he's here at cooper university

medical center listed in critical condition for smoke inhalation. unfortunately, two metro police officers, they were also injured. some of the first responders, they were injured for smoke inhalation, also taken here to cooper. i'm just to to get an update on their condition. when i see you in the next hour, i'll hopefully have an update on their condition. one firefighter was treated at the scene. there was an individual found in the home that was burning. he's in critical condition and two metro police officers were also transported here. i'll have an update on their condition when i see you next. reporting live from camden, katy zachry, nbc 10 news. also overnight, a fire had to be put out at this alloy company in montgomery county. the fire broke out about 12:30 inside a building where metal coating take place. no one was injured.

the rittenhouse rape suspect may have had another incident. a second woman says a man expose ed himself to her an hour before that rape happened. today we expect to get a report card on the region's infrastructure. the american society of civil engineers will put out its assessment of roads, bridges, mass transit, even schools in the area. nbc 10's jesse gary is live in center city on the spring garden bridge this morning. that bridge is on the list to be repaired. right? >> that's right, chris. those repairs are slated to take place in just a little bit after the july 4th holiday. but it's not just this bridge. it goes across the entire system. let's go ahead, take a look at our video. the report card on the state

infrastructure to be released in a few hours by the american society of civil engineers find the entire system is in need of repairs. the society says one in four of our bridges are structurally deficient. funding from act 89 passed last year does help but that money falls far short of what is needed. >> we're designed for a certain amount of time and engineers are very good. we build in what's called a factor of çsafety, you know, w do design our bridges and roads for a very long time but a lot of our roads and bridges have been around here for a while. >> coming up in the next 30 minutes i'll give you say sneak peek at the report and the letter grades they give the infrastructure in the commonwealth of pennsylvania. we're live on the spring garden bridge in center city this morning. jesse gary, nbc 10 news. happening later today, a court hearing for the man accused of trying to kill a

bucks county police officer. matthew miller is his name. he's scheduled for a preliminary hearing today on charges of attempted murder. earlier this month, he escaped his work release program and tried to step bensalem police officer michael jakinski. struggling casinos will find out if they'll get a boost from delaware lawmakers. it all comes down to a vote in dover. tracy davidson is live in our digital operations center this morning. >> this is more like a balancing act. the state needs the revenue from the casinos. the four casinos are asking for the state to ease up on how much they take from the casinos, otherwise the casinos they they won't survive. state lawmakers will vote on a relief package. the senate was supposed to vote

people gamble and drink. the legale age for gambling and drinking in new jersey is 21. a second bridge investigation is being linked to new jersey governor chris christie according to a report by the associated press. there are questions about how christie's administration paid for a billion dollar repair for the pulaski skyway bridge. feds are looking into whether the funds for that bridge broke the law. christie's administration is being investigated currently for lane closures at the george washington bridge. and from our south jersey bureau, top honors for postal workers who have driven more than a million miles without an accident. four letter carriers will be honored today at the stratford post office at bell mmar, camde county. now your nbc 10 first alert

weather with meteorologist bill henley.ç >> clouds are moving in this morning and the temperatures will be heading into the upper 80s in some spots this afternoon. and the temperatures that are cooling this morning actually running a little bit warmer. it's a bit steamy outside this morning. that steamyness will stay with us through the day. a high humidity day. dry to start with but low clouds are overhead. showers and thunderstorms are in store for us as we head into the afternoon hours. right now moving out the door, 71 degrees in allentown. northeast philly is 73 and it's 72 degrees for atlantic city. the low clouds over citizens bank park. it will be dry this morning in the park. the game might run into showers and thunderstorms later today. right now, clouds, low cloudiness has moved into the area. thicker clouds are north and west. this is where we're tracking some showers and thunderstorms and these are on the move. you can see the lightning in portions of north central

sometimes -- first, let's take a look at this. a live picture of citizens bank park. it's 71 degrees already. it will be a humid wednesday when the phillies play the marlins at 7:00 tonight. there could be showers in the area for that game. of course the phillies got a big one yesterday over the marlins ending their three-game losing streak. we'll see if they can keep it rolling and avoid those showers. here's what i was getting to a moment ago. sometimes even an armored car needs backup. philadelphia s.w.a.t. members showed up to a guard and armored car that had broken down on i-95 in fishtown last night. officers stood watch while the crew transferred money to another vehicle. people were glad to see that scene cleared. in delaware county today, police are warning you to beware of a woman who claims to have lost her dog. police in ridley township says

that woman has been linked to a rash of recent burglary attempts in midland park and woodland. she knocks on doors, if no one answers and the door is unlocked, she goes on in. if someone does answer the door, she uses the lost dog story. dietz and watson is expanding their operation. a fire last year destroyed a warehouse in delanco. instead of rebuilding there, they're moving to the tacony section of philadelphia where they already have a distribution center. 158 new jobs in philadelphia in addition to the 700 jobs already at the plan the. officials say the company will be eligible for more than $7 million in public funding for that expansion. dietz and watson makes deli meats and cheeses. it was in september of last year that this fire destroyed their

distribution center in çdelanc. more than 100 people who worked there were moved to philadelphia. we have new information on a pair of gun range robberies in philadelphia. jeffrey chandler was arrested in new jersey after nearly a two-week search. they say chandler and another robber held up a man on june 11th. the next day, the investigators believe the same pair shot and robbed another man outside a gun range in northeast philadelphia. the robber stole guns in both incidents. officers arrested the second suspect last week. six people remain in the hospital in miami this morning following that deadly shooting that we first brought you as breaking news yesterday morning. their conditions ranking from serious to critical. police say a seventh person is being cared for by family and friends. two people were killed when a man got out of an suv and opened fire outside an apartment building there. police have not made any arrests at this point. a second murder trial for former new england patriots tight end aaron hernandez is now

set for next day. hernandez was in court yesterday to hear murder charges against him in the deaths two of men in boston in 2012. in a separate case, hernandez will go to trial this october for the murder of a semipro football player. he's pleaded not guilty in both cases. this morning, police in arkansas continue their manhunt for a convicted killer who escaped from prison. timothy buffington's escape was caught on tape. police in arkansas say he is armed and dangerous. this morning, kfc officials say they have found no evidence that an employee asked a little girl to leave the store because of her facial injuries. the company says the matter is now closed but it says it will honor its pledge to donate $30,000 to help with victoria will k wilker's bills. the 3-year-old was mauled by a
