temperatures up to 90 degrees in philadelphia. and it is going to be nice and sunny this morning. our skies are clear currently in philadelphia. that's a live view from the adventure aquarium. now we're back where we were yesterday morning at 70 degrees in philadelphia. 66 in trenton. 65 degrees in wilmington and 50s for millville. sunshine will be bright. 72 degrees at 7:00. 77 at 9:00. and then into the 80s this afternoon. we'll also be watching the radar screen because some areas may see a shower later today. looking at the future weather to show you where those are most likely to pop up when we come back but first jillian mele has traffic. >> no accidents on the majors. we do have some construction. that's southbound 95. we are dealing with lane restrictions there. that construction is not causing any delays. heading into delaware, 495 all is quiet. this is a live look at philadelphia pike. 95 is looking good with no accidents to report there.

for drivers in new jersey this morning look for construction on 295 between route 42 and route 30. breaking news out of philadelphia. police are searching right now for two men who robbed workers at a food distribution plant making off with quite a haul. nbc 10's jesse gary was the first reporter on the scene. what can you tell us at this point? >> reporter: workers are starting to show up right now but they're not being let in because detectives are still processing the crime scene and they'll be helped by surveillance video both inside and outside this massive food distribution plant here in philadelphia. let's take a look at our video. investigators say a little more than an hour ago two men posing as cops came to the door and knocked on the door. wearing police hats. one had a police badge around his neck. the owners, a male and female, were inside. they opened up. these two men press guns against their heads and come in and demand the cash from the safe. they go over to a room on the

side and they open the safe and they make off with two bags of money. police estimate they have stole& about $100,000. in the next 30 minutes, i'll have more about this horrifying experience for the owners of this business and why police believe they will catch these two criminals shortly. we're live in fish town, jesse gary, nbc 10 news. we also have new information about a shooting at a crowded basketball court in north philadelphia that left a teen e teenager dead. tracy davidson is live in our digital operations center. tracy, there were 100 people around that court when this boy was shot numerous times. >> witnesses say it was all fun and then it turned to chaos. people were playing on the basketball court right next to that there was a big barbecue going on. witnesses say that boy played -- that teenage victim played basketball on that court every day. the victim has been identified as 17-year-old robert reid. he played in the summer league. his team was supposed to play a

championship game. they didn't have a game last night but reid was out playing basketball and around 8:30 ten shots were fired on the basketball court on cumberland street. most of them were at close range. the teen died at the scene. the gunman ran away. witnesses describe what happened when they heard the gunshots. >> everybody ran. nobody knew where the shots was coming from. everybody just ran in the same direction basically. >> i had just left and heard about it and came running back because he's one of the kids that is special to me. >> witnesses say they saw another 17 year old running from the scene. police believe that's the shooter. they also believe that reid was the intended target. police are reviewing surveillance camera video from the scene. meantime, the summer league will meet today to decide if the championship game in which reid was supposed to play will go on as scheduled. live in the digital operations center, tracy davidson, nbc 10 news. today a 17-year-old philadelphia girl is expected to testify against a woman accused

of abducting her from school and subjecting her to horrific sexual abuse. the courtroom was cleared yesterday as jurors were shown graphic photos of the girl's injuries. a doctor testified that she has rarely seen abuse this severe. jurors were visibly shaken but the defendant did not seem to react in court. regusters insists she's not the person responsible. investigators say this is regusters in the video. philly pride for the taney dragons will be on full display today. the city throwing a big parade to celebrate the team's accomplishments in the little league world series. the parade starts at 2:00 p.m. at 20th and market east on market to city hall and down to broad and then stake a stop at the kimmel center and then at broad and washington. the parade will end with a rally

at fdr park around 4:00 p.m. then, it's not over. the dragons getting too to citizens bank park where the team will be honored. all fans and citizens bank park will get a free taney dragons t-shirt which i'm still trying to get high hands on one of those. katy zachry is live along the ben franklin parkway. she's not wearing a taney t-shirt yet. these kids came up short in williamsport but they are standing tall in their hometown today. >> reporter: a lot of fanfare surrounding the taney dragons. philadelphia puts on parades for professional teams that have won championships. the team did capture our hearts and this is a way to thank them for representing philadelphia so well in the little legal world series. they made it to the u.s. championship semifinal round becoming the third best little league team in the nation. today's parade begins at 2:00 p.m. at market and 20th street.

it will make its way to city hall and south on broad street. it's a rolling parade meaning the city is not technically shutting down streets. they'll stay at each stop for 30 minutes. according to organizers, we hear there's no evovertime cost accrd from this and no extra security and no significant cost to the city. the city is soliciting donations from several large organizations and companies. the team is also going to be honored at tonight's phillies game. i'll have much more on the taney dragons parade coming up throughout the morning. at 5:00, i'm going to be telling you about another huge event that the city of philadelphia is putting on. the music festival, third year in a row. we're having it over the labor day holiday. we're hosting it. tens of thousands of people coming to the city and we're standing at ground zero where all of the preps are under way. we are just a few days out from that made in america music festival. i covered it for the last two

colleges. four other suspected dealers have agreed to testify against co-defendants. the other defendants include brooks who faces formal arraignment this morning and neil scott. prosecutors say they ran the operation called the main line takeover. it's a pleasant morning. temperatures have dropped down and they're still falling at this hour. they're going to turn around and heating up with bright sunshine today. back up to 90 degrees for philadelphia this afternoon. isolated showers could be in the area late this afternoon. most areas will stay dry. clearing out for tomorrow and temperatures come down. this weekend, they go right back up. it's going to be a warm one if not a hot one saturday and sunday. 64 right now currently in doylestown. cape may dropped to the 50s. 59 degrees at the airport. 70 degrees even but still falling in philadelphia. completely dry beach avenue.

plenty of sunshine today. and it's going to be a warm, sunny afternoon and a dry afternoon at the shore. completely clear in philadelphia but you can see some clouds moving in from the northwest. that's part of a system that's moving through the midwest that may bring us some isolated showers late this afternoon. the future storms showing clear for most of the day and noontime barely a cloud in the sky. you can see some cloudiness off to the north and west at lunchtime, however. and then this afternoon, here come a few showers late in the afternoon farther off to the north and west and there's a chance of a few sprinkles moving through philadelphia. most of the day looks like it will be dry. most of the region will stay dry today. it will be a hot one. high temperatures into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. a look at the shorecast when i come back. i don't know what it was yesterday but local highways were a mess all morning. maybe we'll get payback today with smooth sailing. jillian mele will bring us that good news. >> i do have good news.

i hope you didn't jinx things by the way. this is 76 at spring garden street. looking great in both directions. no incidents to report so far so that's good news. heading to pennsylvania turnpike eastbound approaching valley forge a spot of construction out there blocking the left lane but that's typical for the overnight hours. so is this northeast extension construction. normal road work here near quaker town and right near lansdale. active overnight construction in that area for drivers in lehigh valley this is route 22 at 309. 78 looks good too. up next, details on a crime that sent families rushing to a local cemetery and in-flight fight. how a little gadget caused a big spat in the sky. also ahead -- >> i believe that if i wouldn't have moved, i could have died. >> that teen says he should be dead. his survival story and the little move that he believes saved his life.

you'll have to crank the ac again today. it will reach 90 degrees as we take a live look at center city, philadelphia. a cool start to the morning though at 69 degrees. enjoy it. we have new information on a shooting and stabbing during a basketball game in lehigh county. sky force 10 was over a darkened roosevelt park last night. we know that an 18 year old was stabbed. a 13-year-old boy shot in the shoulder. both are expected to be okay. police say at this point it's unclear what led to the violence. no one has been arrested.

police in one bucks county community want help finding vandals that are targeting graves of military veterans. investigators say there's been three separate incidents at rosedale memorial park and roosevelt memorial park in bensalem. they sold veteran markers, flag holders and other decorations, piled them up and set them on fire. >> take the american flag off grave sites and decorations is despicable. i don't know why someone would want to do this and to happen at two cemeteries about a mile or two apart clearly it seems like the same person doing this and they're upset over something. >> two more incidents happened in the past few days. police are stepping up patrols at those local cemeteries. this morning israeli police say they are still searching for a student from ocean county who disappeared in israel last week. 23-year-old aaron sofer of lakewood went missing on friday while hiking in the jerusalem forest. a massive search is under way in israel now. investigators say they are following up on all possibilities including the

chance that sofer may have fallen victim to palestinian militants. yesterday in lakewood, sofer's brother made a plea for his safe return. >> i just have one message. please bring back my brother. >> aaron sofer was studying at a religious school in israel at the time he disappeared. his disappearance comes two months after one boy was kidnapped and killed in the west bank along with two other teens and their murders sparked tensions. hamas is declaring victory after reaching an agreement with israel for a long-term truce. palestinians took to the streets of graze city celebrating that truce. israel is supposed to ease imports into gaza including aid and material for reconstruction. then in a month, talks are supposed to begin in cairo on more complex issues including israel's demand that hamas disarm. a 13-year-old boy seriously

injured in that earthquake in california says he's lucky to be alive. his pelvis was fractured. he think he escaped death because he scooted toward the door during the shaking. >> i do feel lucky. i believe that if i wouldn't have moved, i could have died. that day i could have died. i know i should have died. >> that area of napa was rattled by several aftershocks yesterday. they were mostly in the 2.0 magnitude range but one was a 3.9 tremor. sunday's quake is estimateded to have caused at least a billion dollars in property damage in the napa area. >>. >> look at this in texas. huge fire. thick smoke pouring from the roof of a warehouse that went up in flames in houston yesterday destroying a number of businesses inside the warehouse including a furniture store. everyone got out safely and there are no reports of injuries. investigators are still looking for the cause. a subway operator and

conductor have been suspended as new york city transit officials investigate how a train ended up going the wrong way. the uptown a train pulled out on the downtown tracks on august 11th in spied night of a warnin a dispatcher. no one was hurt. federal investigators in ohio are trying to figure out what caused a plane to crash killing four college students. police say it went down shortly after takeoff on monday night. that plane was rented by a 20-year-old pilot. all four men went to case western reserve university in cleveland. listen to this one. united airlines flight out of newark was diverted because of a fight over a reclined seat. this happened sunday. officials say a man was using this device here called the knee defender. it prevents the seat in front of from you reclining. a woman in that seat asked the man to let her recline. he refused and deployed the knee offender and then the woman threw a cup of water at the

route 30 which is exit 29. watch for lane restrictions there. not too much to report as far as majors in delaware. this is a live look at 95 at route 896. 495 is also clear. chris? easter seals center in delaware is showing how technology helps them help people with disabilities. nbc 10 was in wilmington. easter seals programs in six locations nationwide receive $25,000 each from the comcast assisted technology grant fund. comcast is the parent company of nbc 10. monitoring travel trouble. penn state's football team is prepared to launch its season overseas. the potential threat that had everyone onboard the plane closely watching. it has stood here since 1743. a claim that no other building like it can make but this morning this piece of history is in trouble.

4:24 as you get your wednesday morning started. a quiet cape may. a lot of people enjoying a final week or so at the shore before school starts back and other end of summer activities kick in. a hot one today. highs around 90 degrees with humidity feeling like summer out there. the oldest public library in the country located in delaware county is in danger of closing. the darby free library has been a community resource since 1743 but a series of state budget cuts and mounting bills could tip them over the edge. library officials say they may have to make a decision about closing later this year. in the meantime, a series of small fundraisers are planneded to try to help.

the penn state football team is on the way to ireland despite threats of a volcanic eruption in iceland. the team's plane would go over that volcano. the season opener is in dublin on saturday. there are more than 9,000 individual items, 20,000 pounds of cargo being shipped over. officials say they're not worried about the threat of the volcano. they insist safety is their number one priority. >> i mean, safety for the student athletes, for the penn state staff that are traveling to assist the team and then obviously our fans. >> penn state will play the university of central florida in dublin. first-year students at rutgers university camden are settling into rooms. yesterday was move-in day. moms and dads helped students unload the car and get all of those must-have items for the school year into the dorm rooms. students have a few days to
