stir be up rip currents, a live look at cape may where many people are still vacations. swells could be five to eight feet. as we approach a holiday weekend, everyone is wondering if we have rain in our future, meteorologist bill henley? >> well, not today, no. it's going to be nice and sunny today and tomorrow, we're enjoying sunshine. but weekend, it's a different story. we'll talk about that coming up. right now, it's clear in center city. that's a live view from the adventure aquarium. right now, 78 degrees in philadelphia. 77 at philadelphia international. trenton at 74 and 72 in wilmington. the temperatures are still falling. we will see more readings in the 60s and lower 70s before the warmup into the mid to low 80s this afternoon. sunny and nice. 74 degrees at 7:00, less humid and breezy for 9:00 and breezy

with wind blowing by lunchtime today. over to jillian mele. >> good morning, bill. we have construction out there on i-95 this morning. this is the southbound side of i-95 near the philadelphia international airport. two lanes of traffic are getting by right now. it's not causing a delay. we'll let you know that lingers into the later early morning hours. we also have construction that we're following on the left side of the commodore barry bridge. right now 12th street looking in both directions. is quiet there and traffic is moving along fine. we're following this breaking news this morning. the driver of a car crashed into a house. it turns out he had just been shot in the head. nbc10's katy zachry is live at the scene of that house where police are trying to sort it

out. >> reporter: police are saying this is an unique scene because they have a partially collapsed building that is impeding their investigation. this is the abandoned home you're looking at. the victim's car was just removed from this abandoned home. police say it had backed into it and caused it to partially collapse. here's what we know, police say around 12:00 a.m. on siebert street. a man lost control of his vehicle, police say the vehicle then backed into abandoned home causing it to partially collapse. when medics arrived they were first on the scene. they thought the driver was just trapped. they didn't know the extent of his injuries. so they worked to get him out. when they did get him out, they saw he had died from four to five gunshot wounds.

they did call police. licenses and inspections had to come out here and secure the building because investigators were dealing with a hazardous situation as one of them tolding us. so licenses and inspections had to make sure no other bricks or other parts of the building would collapse on investigators. this is information we have chief inspector scott small at the scene. >> it appears that this victim may have been inside hyundai when he was shot and he backed into the abandoned property and caused the property to collapse. >> reporter: just in the last few minutes, the police have towed the victim's car. police are considering this a crime scene. about 100 yards from where we're standing, not far from the scene, they did find shells on

siebert street. unfortunately, that is not even near the collapsed building so that's a separate scene. they have ballistic evidence. they are not releasing the name or identity of the driver, the man who was shot and died because quite frankly, they don't know it right now. they know he's in his 20s or early 30s. they're working to figure out who he is. reporting live in north philadelphia, katy zachry, nbc10 news. we're also following a breaking story we brought you yesterday as breaking news. right now, philadelphia police are guarding two properties that they believe are involved in the kidnapping of two men. jesse gary, what's happening there? >> reporter: two police vehicles are here. one is parked on this side of the house on south second street. and a command suv and a second police vehicle are parked just

in front of this white trailer. they're guarding, they're waiting for a search warrant, they believe there are drugs inside. they're waiting for a search warrant. police tell us they believe the three victims who were abducted, robbed and dumped in the schuylkill river were allegedly taken from one or two of the properties. one of the victims crawled from river. that victim said he was taken and tossed into a van with the other two victims. investigators found a marijuana glow operation inside that trailer. and that's why they requested a sever warrant. we're going to stay on scene, monitor what's going on. as soon as they get that warrant, we'll let you know. we're live in south filled this morning. jesse gary, "nbc 10 news today." police are investigating a double shooting in kensington.

two men were shot, cambria street. both are in stable condition, so far no arrests and no word yet what led to the shooting. and happening now -- the fbi is working with the secret service to determine the scope of cyberattacks against several u.s. financial institutions, several banks included. nbc10's tracy davidson is live in the operations center. >> reporter: the fbi won't give specifics, chris, but a report by bloomberg said federal officials are investigating an incident in which russian hackers attacked the financial system this month possibly in rethat yags for the u.s.-sponsored sanctions against russia. reports say they're looking into whether the breaches are linked to recent attacks of major european banks. as as reported in "the new york times" jpmorgan chase and add least four other firms were hit this month by a coordinated attack. the crime report says cyberthieves siphoned off a huge

amount of data including checking and savings information. they called the attack a significant breach of corporate security. a spokesperson with jpmorgan chase did not confirm the reports and only said that large companies experience cyberattacks nearly every day and they have multiple layers to counter every threat. a statement from the fbi, the fbi said that following cyberthefts remain a top priority. in the digit tall operations center, tracy davidson, "nbc10 news." the obama administration is accusing russia of leading a new countermilitary defensive in ukraine. the u.s. says moscow is sending tanks, rocket launchers and armored vehicles into ukrainian territory. a state department spokesperson said some russian force, being sent 30 miles inside ukraine. and soldiers and their parents

are not being told where they're headed. also this morning, the state department is looking into the report that a second american was killed while fighting for the military group isis. nbc news is reporting that a source of the free syrian army says a second american was as killed in the same battle that claimed mccain's life. happening today, testimony resumes in the trial of a 21-year-old philadelphia woman who is charged with abducting a girl from school and sexually assaulting her. yesterday the now 7-year-old victim took the stand to testify against her alleged attacker. prosecutors say christina regusters knew the child and disguised her as her mom without showing identification. the defense argues that police have the wrong person. the girl was on the stand for an hour yesterday. she testified that she thought the woman was her mom. the little girl said she was taken to her house and blind

folded. when asked if anything bad happened to her in the house she said she didn't remember but, quote, i just remember hurting. prosecutors say she was sexually assaulted with a sharp object. today, we may see the surveillance video of the armed robbery at a food distribution center in fishtown. two men showed up at the kawa food distribution center in north philadelphia avenue pretending to be police. the fair forced the owners to open a safe at gunpoint. investigators tell us video captured the entire thing inside and out. the robbers got away with $100,000. from our nbc10 jersey shore bureau now, we should get an idea of what six flags venture has in store for the 2015 season. the amusement park is expected to announce additions to its theme park and water park. they'll also release details about this halloween's fright

crash. skyforce 10 was in the charred debris in amity yesterday. the plane went down and caught fire, send two people to the hospital. their conditions have not been released. this morning, the search is on for gunmen who crashed a frat party and robbed students. robbers pointed guns at the students who attend the university of sciences. it happens at epsilon sigma phi. they say two men stormed into the house and took off with thousands of dollars. >> mostly, last night, put a gun in my face. and went up, as pretty much all fraternities do as part of collections. >> the university of sciences says it will send a safety alert to students today. they as said they're working with the university of pennsylvania to make sure they're safe.

out of our delaware bureau not, a newark man is out on bail after police say he crashed his car into the back of a new castle county police officer. 49-year-old albert lack is charged with drunk driving, vehicular assault and reckless driving. the suspect and both officers inside the patrol car were treated for injuries. a texas jury acquitted a man of murdering the drunk driver who killed his son. authorities say david morahas on the side of the road when a banda crashed into his two sons. prosecutors in arizona say no criminal charges will be filed after a 9-year-old new jersey girl accidentally shot and killed a shooting constructer with an uzi. on monday, the instructor was

showing the girl how to fire the submachine gun. when she fired it recoiled shooting the instructor in the head. this is video moments before it happened. the girl's parents were standing nearby. a crew member of the tv show "cops" inadvertently shot and killed by police in nebraska. this morning, three omaha police officers are on leave. the officers interrupted a robbery at a fast food restaurant. the show's audio person was killed. another police shooting under review. this in atlanta. witnesses say a police officer trying to arrest a homeless man, hit him with her baton, he ran away. he was cornered by a state police officer. the man alleged stabbed that cop in the back.

that's when they opened fire. the search continues for an experiences military pilot whose fighter jet crashed. he was headed on a stand missions. authorities say the air national guard reported an in-flight emergency and reported it. the boat got stuck on a sandbar, 13 passengers and four crew members on board. the passengers were startled when it made the abrupt stop. but no one was hurt. a tugboat pulled the ferry free about an hour and a half later. a 90-year-old florida man is in critical condition after police say he was left outside in extreme heat for close to three hours. the man was rushed to the hospital with severe hydration and sunburn. at the hospital, he had a heart attack. look at this new coast guard

both at 72 degrees. and it is cooler through the northwest. shenandoah's at 59. it's 59 degrees in allentown. and delaware finding the low 70s this morning. that's what you see at the shore right now, 74 degrees from cape may to atlantic city. and sunshine will be bright. there are a few high clouds moving through cape may, millville and delaware right now. you can see they're trending to the southeast. over the weekend, this storm, cristobal will be moving off to the east. rip current risks which are high today will be diminishing for the next few days. stand by are for otherwise beautiful weather at the shore. sunshine, less humid, a little breezy with the high of 81. then 70s for friday and saturday. i'll take you through the holiday weekend coming up in the next half hour with the seven-day forecast. >> it's always nice to have a holiday weekend to look forward to. let's get you to work safely.
