football football all over our area. we've got it covered. welcome to the high school blitz. we begin with one of the oldest rivalries in our area. this game dates back to 1915. in anticipation of friday's game earlier this week, alumni of the two schools shared lunch together for the first time at the union league in philadelphia. tpz a way to shake hands before the teams duked it out on the field. so here we go. fans from both teams making their presence felt, lighting up the stands. former eagle on the st. joe's prep side. illini heading to michigan next year. he finds him for the score he completed 15 of 19 passes for 224 yards. the defense stiffens up. his pass is picked up at the 20 yard line. the drive is shut down. and lasalle fans loving it right

here. kyle sent it to offensive coordinator. he gets the score but it's not enough. they rally late for a 35-31 win. >> let's keep it going. king with the pass. but picked off by louisiana's michael drake. how about three picks for drake? one back for a touchdown. next up, easy run to the end zone. he does it twice on the night. kan nan. three touchdowns. this one to jeremy ryan. and they win 55-26. >> upper darby with a great fake here. does the runningback have it?

nope, quarterback. he's going to outrun everybody for a 64-yard touchdown. two touchdowns in the first eight minutes but delaware county is unbeaten this season. and it's going to remain that way. he rolls out and fibds a wide open alex macino. winning 34-33 thriller. >> let's continue the action. students crowning him homecoming king and he's autistic. the team you love the most delivered. the defense has a breakdown on the plane. he's breaking free for a big game. don't worry, grizzly fans, we prevailed. my alma mater going down to ridley.

20-14. that hurt. we are the best! >> academy park with a quick pass to jeremy and he streaks down the sideline, but watch the captain do a great job of running him down. academy park getting a lucky bounce. allen on the keeper has the ball knocked away. but it bounces right back to him. he runs it in. academy park with a 15-0 shutdoubt. in punt formation, but it's a make. he's going to run with it, going for the first down. and he fights for it. that's a nice job on special teams. that sets up the scoring here. he gets it into the end zone. he rushes for 120 yards on 15 carries. >> archbishop ryan running on archbishop carol.

eastern pennsylvania conference between a perfect eastern team and a strong parkland squad. parkland and he's going to put an end to that. blocks the punt. nate moser recovers it in the end zone. he was held in check for most of the game, except for this. they improve 7-0 with a 28-21 win. >> where is he? he's got the ball? right there he is. got all the right moves. we sea it every week. he runs for 143 yards and a touchdown there. big running day as well. sprinting to the left and down the sideline he goes. 167 yards for sanchez. 2 touchdowns.

>> trying to march down the field against valley ford's military academy. he has a good battle plan. he streaks up the sideline. did he make it? >> i'm thinking, yes! touchdown strawberry mansion. they're running again, deep in their own end of the field. watch him just take the ball away and score. >> let's jump over to south jersey once again. el atlantic city is running the ball. bouncing to the outside, 26 yards outs. that's a touchdown. then he finds a very quick strike and another touchdown. vineland is trying to get back in this game. but their pass right here, it's picked off by aaron jackson. ac wins it 32-12. >> williamtown and william penn. he delivers a strike.

they take control in the second half with their ground attack, led by star back reggie carol. he ran for 138 yards. he scores his second touchdown of the night here. slides into the end zone. they win 21-7. >> we have reached our first time-out. up next, it's a true story of strength. >> coming up on "high school blitz", a local football player suffers and unthinkable tragedy after losing both of his parents in the same day. >> my heart dropped. i was in shock. >> but through the sadness he not only found strength to carry himself, but to help carry his whole team. that story is coming up next. skippy!!

shot himself. >> an unthinkable tragedy that shook the entire south jersey community. >> my heart dropped. i was just shocked. >> i didn't know what to say to him for a couple of days. i was trying to gather my thoughts together and make sure i didn't say anything to offend him. >> less than 24 hours after it happened, chris turned to his other family, his team. >> i went to practice the very next day. >> when he said he was coming back i was blown away. >> these are my brothers. i'm close to them. they didn't treat me differently. they didn't look at my parents differently, my dad. if i didn't have foonl, i don't know what i would be doing. >> reporter: the strength chris displays at just 17 years old empowers everyone around him. >> he is definitely the strongest person i know by far. >> i don't know if i told him this, but chris is one of my biggest inspirations. >> they still are. chris doesn't realize the strength he has, how much it's

helping other people. >> reporter: chris chooses to be a rock when he could have easily fallen apart. >> i've definitely come to terms with the situation about what happened. i know what i have to deal with and how to approach it every day. >> does it get easier? >> you know, i don't know. it hasn't been the same since it's happened. i've just been chugging along, day by day. it's definitely easier at practice. >> are you mad? >> in a way, yes. but there's nothing i can do to change it. being mad doesn't really help. >> through football and his brothers on the team, chris only allows himself to be positive, even when talking about his parents. >> some people are going to judge him on the one mistake that he made. i look at many i parents and all the happy things we have been through and the great experiences that we've had together. though it was short, 17 years. we had a lot of great times together. >> as he looks to the future, he doesn't know where he wants to
