>> we're look forward to your update. certainly no vacation picnic for a cruise ship that docked around 6:00 eastern time letting off thousands of passengers including the woman closely watched for ebola. we're going live to texas and get more in a few minutes. we'll get you to all that. the top story is the possible break in the search for missing uva student hannah graham. she disappeared six weeks ago. law officials announced they found human remains. we are following development this is morning. >> reporter: good morning. police found the remains thought to be those of hannah graham on an abandoned property less than ten miles from where she disappeared. they have notified graham's parents. police are working to find the identity. her friends and family preparing to hear the worst. in university late saturday,

shock and grief. word spread that officials found human remains, possibly those of hannah graham. >> i think it's really scary and definitely disturbing. >> it's terribly sad. our hearts go out to the whole family. >> if it turns out to be hannah, it's important her parents get closure. >> the police chief made the grim announcement. >> before noon today, a search team from the chesterfield sheriff department was searching an abandoned property. they discovered what appears to be human remains. >> the chief described the grim task of informing graham's parents. sergeant mooney of the police department made a difficult phone call and reached out to john and susan graham to share with them this preliminary discovery. >> reporter: those that found her also spoke out. >> a definite wow moment.

when we sent guys out it was with the hopes they would go with a fresh set of eyes and turn something up. >> reporter: she disappeared in the early hours. she was last seen with jesse matthew. he's been charged with abducting graham and linked to other sexual assault charges. he hasn't entered a plea. this community has come together searching for graham, holding vigils, and her parent pleading for the public's health. >> they'll look at clothing, personal a attempt temperatures, dna, dental charts, anything to make a positive identification. >> >> reporter: as the community braces itself. matthew's attorney said, quote,

i understand the search teams found remains on an abandoned property. meantime the community has called off a search for graham sa scheduled for later today. the cruise ship carrying the health care worker being watched for ebola docked two days after it was turned away from mexico because of the passenger on board. carrie has more on all this. >> reporter: good morning lester. the carnival cruise ship pulled under cover. among the passengers on board, that woman in isolation because she had handled samples from ebola patient thomas eric duncan. while she handled those bodily fluids, officials say she shows no signs of exposure and is not sick. nonetheless she's been taken off the ship and will now join those who will be monitored on shore.

more than 100 miles off the coast of texas, a coast guard chopper hovers over the carnival ship magic to pick up blood samples from the passenger on board. those samples were rush add shore to a bio hazard team that picked up the specimen and flew them to a texas capital. a lab in austin is examining the blood for the ebola virus. passengers on the cruise ship say they know it's highly unlikely anyone is exposed to ebola, the drama on board including mexico's refusal to let the ship going is nonetheless unsettling. >> it's kind of scary. it's this the back of your mind even when playing and trying to have fun with your friends. >> reporter: saturday, america's first ebola patient, thomas eric

duncan was remembered. the liberian national died from ebola 18 days after he arrived in the united states. duncan's fiance and family members that had contact with duncan before he was hospitalized remain in isolation this morning. so far none show signs of the virus. if that continues, their 21 day isolation is scheduled to end 12:01 a.m. monday. meantime nurse nina pham is in quarantine at the national institute of health in bethesda, maryland. amber vinson is in quarantine at emory university hospital in atlanta. at texas health presbyterian hospital, a letter published this morning. we did not live up to the high standards that are the heart of our hospital's history, mission, commitment.

>> reporter: the cruise ship magic is scheduled to take on 4,000 more passengers as well as the 1400 member on board. before it does for the next cruise, it will be deeply sanitized say officials from carnival cruise line if for no other reason to give next passengers piece of mind. >> kerry sanders, thanks. turning now to the chaotic scene in new hampshire. an annual pumpkin festival exploded into a riot in the streets. ron is in new hampshire this morning with more. good morning. >> reporter: hey erica. good morning to you. this was supposed to be a family friendly event, this pumpkin fest in town. they had problems this year. folks that came here to disrupt proceedings took it to another level. take a look at the street behind me. i'm not sure what was burned here. i think a couch or mattress. the street is littered with beer cans. this was a family friendly event. look at the pictures from yesterday. this all started about 2:00 in

the afternoon. police had to be called to break up parties off the college campus where a lot of college age students decided to spend the afternoon drinking and toward the end of the evening decided to head to the pumpkin fest to cause disruptions with the cops. police had to fire rubber bullets and tear gas into the crowd. we understand 24 to 26 people had to be hospitalized. no one admitted. a lot of cuts and bruises. there's one shot of a young man that went beyond where the police told him to go and had to be taken down forcibly. we do not know the number of arrests. we're waiting to hear from the police department on number of people that had to be hauled in. the college president is disappointed some of her students were involved in this yesterday. they're going to do something about it going forward. >> all this action on one side and then you hear pumpkin vest. >> doesn't balance, no.

press" on the road. explain. >> i am. we're calling it meet the voters, lester. we've got two weeks to go. this has been a cranky electora electorate. when you look at the battle for u.s. senate control, it's taking place in hid west and south. this week i'm hitting the road in the midwest. kansas, iowa, wisconsin. in the following week i'm going to hit the south. income n georgia, arkansas, louisiana. most of all, i told you electorates are upset. they want to punish one party without rewarding the other. we're seeing all sorts of things, incumbents in trouble. there's not a smooth feeling in this election other than upset voters. >> new set of wheels. i like the where's chuck hashtag. let's talk about supreme court giving texas the go ahead to

move forward with the strict voter i.d. law. what's behind that and what does it mean going forward? >> it tells you supreme court wants to take this up in some form. as you saw, they didn't intervene in some voter i.d. laws that were thrown out in other states. this one they decided to let it stand which tells you at some point they want to try to take up a larger case on this issue of voter i.d. what is constitutional and what isn't? obviously they thought so close to an election, let the rules stand. that's usually where the supreme court is even if they don't have an opinion which way or the other. if it gets too close to election, sometimes they want to say whatever the state has been doing to prepare, let it go for now and then we'll discuss. it will be interesting to see what kind of impact. a lot of people upset about the voter i.d. law. it's going to impact a lot of voters. they'll have an election to find out how many voters. >> i suppose ebola is becoming a

political issue. apparently a meeting this weekend with chief of staff and white house chief of staff. where is the president now on this? is this still a game of catch up now trying to get ahead of this? >> it is like a wash, rinse, repeat when it comes to president obama and this crisis management. the white house looks like they're behind the eight ball then throw resources on it. they eventually get ahead of it. the question is do they get ahead in time before it's a political problem for democrats in november? that's the concern right now with a lot of democrats on the ballot. >> have a good broadcast and good trip as well. looking forward to your reports. >> you got it. thanks. dylan is in bermuda this morning. residents are making a lot of head way on the clean up of hurricane gonzalo. that's great news dylan. >> it certainly is. i swear i'm only still here because the airport is closed. i swear.

>> sure dylan. >> with your sun glasses. >> reporter: the weather is fantastic now. i want to point out, this was a major storm that hit this island. there were no lives lost, no critical injuries reported. at 5:30 yesterday morning, we saw a lot of damage. there were power lines draped across the roads, huge trees blocking the paths. by noontime, all of a sudden, all major debris was cleared away. power was starting to get restored. all roads were passable. this island rebounded quickly. we talk to residents that lost pieces of their roofs. they said we're all safe. it's a little damage. we'll fix out. the resilience here was amazing to see. it's almost like the the storm never happened. there is minor clean up, but things are improving here in bermuda. want to point out, hurricane ana, category 1 now, staying well south of the hawaii islands.

come from old rules really. this is respecting the fact it's a wedding. this is about respecting the couple's wishes. first and foremost, that's the biggest guideline. knowing what it means to be a good guest. you put your cell phone away for the ceremony and reception. you're not posting photos of the bride until she's actually married. you don't want to post anybody's news that they got married or engaged on social media until it actually happened. it's bad enough having the cell phone out. don't block anybody's view with the ipad. >> what about the parents of groom or bride. they put this no digital rule. what do you think about that? >> unless you're an a-list celebrity, putting this on the entire day is a big ask of your guests. if you want to say something what i think is fair, listen bride, groom, what about if we
