yesterday. very gray and nice and calm throughout the day. right now, temperatures throughout the philadelphia area, 35 degrees. and just a few clouds, wind speeds out of the south-southwest at 9 miles per hour. you will notice more sunshine. you'll see the temperatures raining between 44 and 47 degrees. pretty close to average. just a little bit below that average. i'm also tracking rain that's going to affect your weekend. i'll let you know what to expect on the seven-day "first alert" forecast. fir first. and 422 has been a big problem for hours, in the overnight hours, 422 westbound has been slowed between 100 and stowe because of an accident there. it should be cleared soon but take high street or right 24.

tracy. new from overnight, a deadly crash along 422 in north coventry chester county. what jillian was just showing you. a car struck and killed a construction worker on the job. we have a crew working on the story and we'll check and get a live story in just a few minutes. we have new information about the army uniform controversy that we first told you about this week. you might remember an army veteran accused this man of what's called stolen valor. ryan burke said he noticed something was wrong with shawn yetman's military uniform. he confronted him while recording the whole thing. we want to be clear that yetman has not been charged with a crime in this case. jesse, what have we learned? >> reporter: tracy, we learned that yetman was charged a decade

ago with impersonating a dead philadelphia police officer. that officer was philly cop robert hayes who died in the line of duty several years before that. yetman was fined $100 for that chime. yetman has not been charged with stolen valor. but one congressional representative wants a federal investigation because the army has no record of yetman serving. this is not an uncommon or isolated crime. i'll explain in 30 minutes. jesse gary, "nbc10 news." 4:03. happening today, another sentence of a former judge in a ticket fixing scandal that helped shut down philadelphia traffic cord system. a jury convicted thomasine tynes. federal prosecutors said he wept after the judge seeking friends and politicalallies.

the prosecutor said each judge deserves three to four years in prison. a judge sentenced him to 18 months in prison. the other judges were charged of more serious corruption charges. happening today, the co-owner of a pizza place is making his way despite facing federal tax charges. charles and his wife own the manco and manco store. an indictment alleges that manco and his wife failed to report income. people took to the streets to protest a grand jury's decision not to indict a white police officer in a choke hold death of an unarmed black man. the black man was on video.

that's eric garner saying i can't breathe. officer pantaleo responded by putting garner an apparent choke hold which is banned under nypd policy. last night garner's wife and mother spoke out against the grand jury decision. >> a cop did wrong. somebody that gets paid to do right did wrong and he's not held accountable for it. >> how could we put our trust in the justice system when they fail us like this? they didn't only fail me, they failed many of us. >> the justice department says it will now proceed with a civil rights investigation. all lives must be valued. all lives. mr. garner's death is one of several recent incidents across our great country that has tested the sense of trust that

must exist between law enforcement and the communities they are charged to serve and to protect. >> president obama said the grand jury decision in the garner case underscores the need to strengthen the trust and accountability between communities and law enforcement. here at home, the garner grand jury ruling reignited the supports in ferguson. those protests impacted the city's animal christmas tree lighting celebration. a crowd of several hundred chanted before the demonstration. before that they protested during rush hour. protesters said the protests felt more important than the holiday. >> we from to take a moment to honor the injustices that has

happened. >> the protests took place just after the tree lighting ended. this morning, the american red cross is helping victims of an apparent fire in philadelphia. nbc10 obtained this cell phone video last night. the fire ripped through the building in 53rd and montgomery. a woman who lives in one of the apartments spoke with us while her family huddled under red cross blanket. >> it's hard to relax knowing that the fire is going to destroyer my house. knowing that my kids got to be out here and be cold. >> we're working to find out how many people have been displaced and what investigators have learned about the cause of the fire. happen hadding today, there will be another public hearing on how to reduce violence in the state of new jersey. a commission has been holding the hearings throughout the fall. and tonight's meeting will be held at the second baptist

we're seeing most of the clouds here, 35 degrees for philadelphia. a closer look throughout the region, 34 in reading. 34 degrees in atlantic city. our trend will continue through the afternoon. we're down 11 degrees in mt. holly. down 11 in northeast philly. down 4 degrees in the poconos. you'll notice the difference mainly along the shore. 30 degrees in the poconos. 34 degrees in allentown. temperatures in blue bell at 34. 33 in mt. holly. and 39 degrees in avalon. and woodbine and a chilly 28 degrees in millville. the clouds have moved in from the west and the southwest, as we head through rest of today, we're going to see a mix of sun and clouds. the temperatures will range from the 40s and even the 50s but will mainly stay in the mid-50s with a mix of sun and clouds.

it is 4:13. we could learn new information this morning in the jersey bridge scandal. later today, lawmakers will receive a new report about the information of a traffic jam at the george washington bridge in september last year. democrats are behind the investigation. governor chris christie calls the probe politically motivated. the report is supposed to be made public next week. meantime, governor christie heads to canada to talk business. in calgary, ottawa and toronto.

he'll focus on strengthening energy production in the united states and canada. if christie decides to run for president in 2016, they believe production will be at the center of this campaign. more trouble for bill cosby, two new accusers have come forward claiming the comedian sexually assaulted them 30 years ago. attorney gloria allred now represents the women. she called on cosby to waive the statue of limitations so the accusers can take him to civil cases. >> i want mr. cosby to face justice for what he has done to me and so many other women. >> this comes on the heels of a new lawsuit filed tuesday. that accuser said cosby molested her at the playboy mansion when she was just 15 years old. new video shows a suspect

wanted on an attack on a 15-year-old in hunting park. police hope you will recognize the man. police say he jumped him in west luzerne street. another attack on a teenager. this one happened november 16th. watch the center of your screen, you can see the entire thing. police said the victim had just left a friend's house on north fourth street in kensington. police say the suspects boot the man repeatedly breaking his jaw. >> police are looking for a thief who stole a package from the home of a south philadelphia home. a delivery man dropped the package off at the home. four minutes later, the thief grabbed it and walks off. the package was a sit and spin bought for a 1-year-old. >> he kind of walks back and

a sweet idea from hershey, they're looking at replacing high fructose in its candy. the company hopes to appeal to those who avoid high fructose sweetener. it has a bad reputation for fuelling weight gain and diabetes though neither has been proven. the chain settled its whistle-blower charges that it improperly used gift cards to lure new businesses from medicare and medicaid customers. the justice department acknowledged the deal saying rite aid did not do anything wrong. we told you yesterday it was going to happen. here it is, a ridley high school senior recognized for saving a philadelphia police officer's life. >> joe chambers saved the
