pittsburgh we are out of the snow. philadelphia is starting to pick up and as the morning wears on the snow will get heavier and make its way up i-95. low pressure along the coast as it pushes up in the morning. we will be looking at the snow developing. it will get of heavier. two to four inches per hour. thunder snow possible and white out conditions with strong winds. 50 to 60 mile per hour wind gusts. beach erosion with waves 10 to 20 feat. up towards the boston area late tonight into tomorrow morning and noon time tomorrow boston with two to four inches from the snow. white out and blizzard conditions. 65 to 80 miles per hour wind gusts in the boston area. major coastal flooding and power outages possible. probably likely. it will continue to move up into northern new england. here's what we look for. new york city is 12 to 20 inches

hours. we picked up about two inches here. into tomorrow night, we will be measuring up to here and in some areas up to here in new york, hartford providence and boston. how does that happen? this storm is expected to bomb out offshore. that's a short word for bombo genesis. it experiences barometric drops of up to 24 millibars in 24 hours. that's the official definition. it c extremely high winds. we could see hurricane-force winds and coastal flooding because of the winds. how am i going to get this yard stick to boston? i hope to get to boston because so many flights have been canceled in advan vance of this storm.

>> she handled it with grace and class because the booing because people thought she might actually be at least in the top two to finish. it was miss usa who came in as the first runner up and of course columbia taking the crown. one of the fun moments is to see the costumes. they get more beautiful and outrageous. what they have to do to get these costumes here is crazy. miss canada described it as a victorian-looking lady gaga thing going on with the hockey board and hockey sticks coming out from behind her. miss indonesia won the fan favorite vote. in a beautiful -- she said the inspiration was a buddhist temple.

good morning, i'm chris cato on this first alert weather day. we are tracking the storm. meteorologist bill henley joins us now. bill snow falling in parts of the area right? >> mainly light snow. we talked about this first thing this morning. on and off light snowfall during the day. much of the area looks like this. you can see the camera shaking, that's the gusty wind we have with very light snow in philadelphia. that's the view of 95. a first alert has been issued but during the day today you'll just see light snow fall that will be accumulating 1 to 3 inches by this evening. the heavier snow will come in overnight tonight and first thing tomorrow morning in philadelphia, we could see 5 to 8 inches on the ground and it will still be coming down. add to that gusty winds that will lead to blowing and

blowing, drifting snow. it is going to be a snowy scene through the night tonight. right now rain to the south is mixing and changing to snow in central new jersey and south jersey into atlantic county salem county. that's light snow falling in philadelphia in some areas north and west along with winds right now that are gusting to close to 30 miles an hour at the shore and already gusting to 30 miles an hour at wilmington. you can see the flags stretching out here at the nbc 10 studios with light snowfall that is going to be on and off for much of the day. the major roads are well treated, of course but let's see if there are any problems out there this morning with nbc 10's first alert traffic reporter jillian mele. >> we're really not reporting any big accidents, it's been quiet this morning. this is 495 and 95 the northern point where those two roads meet. all is quiet there. for drivers in new jersey 295 through mt. laurel looks pretty good but the roads are looking wet. that's what it looks like all across the area. a little volume on the vine westbound adds drivers head out

improves something. >> sometimes you're not happy there's no affection, there's no communication. >> right exactly. >> but all those things said if you feel it's definitely over, there are some steps that things you wish you would have known first, right? >> absolutely. >> the first thing you say is to find the guidance and support you need, right? >> this is so important. people are so overwhelmed when they get divorced. you can't imagine the emotions you were flooded with. and i was surprised myself. even if you're the one that wanted the divorce you're going to be sad, you're going to be overwhelmed. you're going to have fear be afraid of what's to come. >> should you call your friends or family and rally everyone around you? >> you know, you want support from your friends and family, but you really want professional advice, and that is why we started our business and we are divorce advisers. and what we do is give you that emotional support you need. >> okay. >> it could come from a therapist but your friends and family don't know really. >> okay. let's move down a little bit. >> sure. >> a lot of people when they're about to get divorced when they are, they tell the world. they put it on facebook they tell their friends. you say that's not such a smart

idea. >> don't shout it out is the key word here. >> what should you do? who should you tell? >> you need to tell your children first. >> do you have good ways to do that? because i would imagine that's the hardest part. >> that's a big part of our book and we'll tell you a few tips. >> we really do have good ways. number one, try to tell the children together. >> yes. >> and make it a united front for them. put them first. when you put that in your mind, it's sort of easy. reassure them of your love, of course. reassure them that it's not their fault. many of them take it on themselves, what did i do that mom or dad is leaving. and introduce them to the idea that family is going on you know? and what's going to change in the family and what's going to stay the same is very important. >> what's going to stay the same is important. >> exactly. >> as much as you can keep the same, we recommend that you do. >> if you can. >> yeah, exactly. >> now, a big problem often when couples put up is money, money money. >> finances can be hard, right? >> it becomes an issue. >> very hard. >> you've got to know your finances. a lot of women don't. >> a lot of women don't. >> i have to say, i don't. i take care of a lot but henry

really takes care of the finances. >> and i always say, even if you're not getting divorced, learn your finances inside-out. women that are staying home and they just let the man handle everything. it's such a bad idea. now, okay, you're faced with divorce and you really need to go through all of your records. i say for three years. make records, copies of everything, your tax returns, your w-2s, all of your bills, all your credit card statements. >> and very important, credit. many, many women don't have credit and credit is so important to begin a new life. >> exactly. >> the last thing is, you're not -- look, he's probably not going to say he's sorry, so forget about. just move on. >> or she. >> why am i blaming him? >> we always blame the man. >> sometimes the women are at fault here. but we say don't wait for an apology. >> no. >> it may never come. >> exactly. >> so it's very important that instead of waiting for that apology that you just practice forgiveness and make yourself fore -- >> forgiving is the key. >> ladies, thank you so much.
