believe it or not, this is the one daybreak. we are at what 13 degrees now this morning. good morning on this wednesday, this is "nbc 10 news today." i'm chris cato. let's go to meteorologist bill henley now and the first alert forecast. bill? the snow of yesterday gave way to sunshine, actually. it was a nice sunny day. yes. a lot of melting occurred even with temperatures cold during the day, but it is frozen solid as you mentioned this morning with temperatures plummeting overnight. you can see the ice flow on the delaware in front of center city. that's a live view looking across the delaware this morning. temperatures have plummeted overnight with single digits in many of the suburbs. 8 degrees in atlantic city. look at millville, 1. pottstown, 2. it is now down to 12 degrees in northeast philadelphia and wilmington. a frigid start, it will be sunny. look at the temperature at 7:00. 19 degrees at 9:00.
4:02 am
we'll see melting throughout the day. i'll go through it hour by hour when i'm back in ten. now let's go to first alert traffic reporter jillian mele. you have to watch out for icy patches out there. this is a live look in southern delaware route 1 outside of rehoboth. yesterday this was completely snow covered all day long. as you can see right now, we are seeing the road out there. so a big improvement for drivers in delaware this morning. no accidents to report on the highway so far, just pretty quiet as far as incidents go. drive times look good 76 to the vine is 21 minutes. 95 southbound on woodhaven road to 676 is also looking good. breaking news to the germantown neighborhood into a murder investigation happening outside the bar there in the germantown section of the city. matt delucia just arrived on the scene. matt, i was mistaken when i said this was gunfire a moment ago.

is still pretty bad. looking down here on tudor street, an offshoot of central avenue, there are definitely slick spots and drivers who are coming out in the early morning hours, it is going to be dicy for them especially this car trying to get out of here. fortunately, from what i can see, the tread on this car is pretty good. our live truck has great tread and we were not slipping this morning. but if your tires are not up to speed and you're contending with all the moisture snow and ice, still on the roads in some areas, it could make for a slick commute this morning. we're calling around trying to find out if there are trouble spots you should be aware of and over the next hour we'll bring that information to you. for now, reporting live in fox chase, katy zachry "nbc 10 news." all right. and as bill said we could end this week with near record cold on friday. so we have a lot to warn you about. remember, you can always use the nbc 10 app to get the latest forecast and weather alerts. it's a free download in the app store. new from overnight, a gas
