this. good morning to you. >> good morning. new developments and revelations that they found lubitz talking about severe depression talking about his flight school gap. this is the first time they talk about him having severe depression. new alleged video from a passenger's own cell phone perporting to show what it was like inside that plane during the final moments. lufthansa owned by germany discloses that lubitz underwent treatment for severe depression. according to correspondence between the copilot and the flight training school in 2009. lufthansa ceo expressed sorrow for the victims and gratitude to the recovery teams. >> we know how hard this work

has been. sometimes dangerous and how the people climbed up and down the hills and the helicopters. we are very, very impressed and very, very grateful. >> they wouldn't comment on the airline's new medical revelation. >> thank you, thank you so much. >> sir, your employee crashed the plane. why are you refusing to take questions. >> lufthansa maintained he had no medical issues during his employment which they define as after he earned his pilot's license. whether they followed up with mental health is unclear. though the ceo thomas winkleman said mental evaluations are only done when the pilot is hired. >> we would never have imagined that things like can happen. >> in germany, doctors have an obligation to report patient who is they believe are a threat to

others. the question is did anyone really know? >> he must have taken great precautions to hide this. >> meanwhile the tabloids are reporting they viewed a video recovered from the victim's cell phone at the crash sight showing the horrific final moments of the flight. french authorities are calling the tape a fake. more on that video in a little bit. lufthansa said in the past they knew about a flight school break, but they couldn't comment because of medical confidentiality. unsure what they knew and whether or not they followed up appropriately is up for debate but potentially later on in the courts. >> katie, thank you very much. former ntsb investigator is keeping a close eye on the

investigation. good morning to you. >> good morning, matt. >> one of the first pieces of information from andreas lubitz is he took a break in his flight training for undisclosed reasonings. he told the flight school in conjunction with lufthansa he had severe depression. what should the airline have done with that information? >> that should have raised a big red flag to do an evaluation and had a professional evaluation of his mental status and what was the basis for that depression and whether or not he could continue. they can put him on medication to control that but there is an issue of whether or not the medication was legal for him to continue his pilot activity. >> if they decided he could continue and become a pilot, every time a pilot walks into a cockpit, shouldn't he have been
7:06 am
under elevated level of scrutiny than other pilots? >> that's going to be a question by lufthansa. the fact that they admitted they knew this did they put him on an observation program. was he required to check in and have a medical evaluation on a more frequent basis? those will be questions that we don't have answers to. if they knew about this and allowed them to continue in his program and they didn't have any method unfortunately they will have a lot of questions to answer in court as well. >> let me ask you about this other disturbing aspect that has come up this morning and there possibly exists a piece of cell phone video taken by a passenger on that flight in the final moments before it crashed. investigators said this is not true and if the video is out, it's a fake. what's your take on this? is it possible?
7:07 am
>> i'm concerned with this kind of information. we saw it a lot in mh 370 where the information got leaked and proved to be not true a day or week later. the big issue now is i don't believe it's true and of course the government officials who would be the ones that are the repository for information like that said it's not true. i know that people want their 15 minutes of fame and the tabloids and that kind of thing need to build a news media cycle, but this is really detrimental to the families and the credibility of the investigation. >> if it does exist you hope they would have the good taste to never let it see the light of day. >> thanks. deputy editor of paris. thank you for being with us. >> good morning, savannah. >> my first question is a simple
7:08 am
one. are you convinced this video is real and why? >> i'm convinced this is a real check and investigated and we are positive about our source which is close to the investigation team. there is no doubt that what we saw are the final seconds of what happened on board of airbus 320 of germanwings from what i saw on the video. the footage is blurry but the sound is very -- no doubt that the passenger actually knew what was going on inside and knew what was going to happen. >> without revealing the source what is that motivation for presumably getting this piece of evidence and instead of apparently giving it to the authorities, showing it to the reporter. >> i think they showed it in
7:09 am
order to prove the search material. it's a piece that is interesting for the families of course of the victims. it's also very interesting for a number of people that fly today. now the chance that this video actually appears that it was taken out of the rubble is very slim but i can confirm from what we gather and seen, it's true. >> very quickly, have any family members wanted to see this video? >> not yet. not to my knowledge at the moment. i don't think so. >> from paris, thank you for your time. >> we don't have the video. >> right. i understand. thank you for your time. >> a lot of us our shaking our heads. even if that video exists it's

7:17 am
benjamin netanyahu did not wait to see what the details are. he fired a preemptive shot giving a statement saying it would be unconscionable to negotiate a path to a bomb for a murderous regime like iran. president obama was briefed in full along with the vice president and secretary of defense and the security team. they had a video conference from john kerry. it was midnight here when that took place. he has been fully briefed and clearly the white house wants to know what is in this deal. no matter what it is when they come out of the talks, the president knows he will face a lot of criticism for those who concede too too much to iran and too eager to get a deal. there could be a breakthrough later today. >> i know you will be watching it for us again. a major developments in iraq. iraqi forces are raising energies across parts of tikrit
