philadelphia international airport this morning. we're talking to police as they try to figure out how had a man wound up dead inside a burning car. and this morning, we're off to a much milder start than yesterday morning. look at this 55 degrees as we take a live look at the ben franklin bridge. we'll have one more nice day before wet changes arrive. good morning, this is "nbc 10 news today" on this thursday. i'm chris cato. let's begin with bill henley and his "first alert" forecast. bill. >> good morning, chris. temperatures are cooling down right now. skies are mostly clear, we'll see sunshine today to start with at least. nice view from center city. that's the view from the comcast center where the temperature, now in the 50s. 52 at philadelphia international, 53 at wilmington. look at the 40s north and west of pottstown and doylestown. and roxborough very low 50s. at the airport, it's 51. nice warmup as the day goes on we'll see sunshine high clouds

56 by 9:00. by lunchtime, 64 degrees. the hour-by-hour forecast when i'm back with the future weather. all right, bill we're traveling track problems in bucks county. 413 in buckingham township is closed after a deadly crash there. one person died in that crash. it happened overnight. only one vehicle was involved police are still investigating there. nbc10's "first alert" traffic reporter katy zachry has more. >> yeah we're hearing from the crews it's going to be out there for quite some time. the accident is happening at 413, route 413 which is durham road. at lower mountain road that stretch of 413 is closed off. you can take 263 around that. and i'll keep tabs on that and let you know when that clears. we're hearing it will be out there for quite some time. and the vine street expressway i have this highlighted.

a police car blocking traffic making its way on to vine street, eastbound or westbound because it's the construction that they're doing that should lift around the 5:00 hour. here's the map of it in center city the vine street exit is closed 676 broad street and you have many drivers coming from 76 east and west from the ben franklin bridge from 95. and center city. this is supposed to lift around 5:00 a.m. new from overnight police arrested two robbery suspects who led them through a chase through northeast philadelphia overnight. you're looking at the car that police say the suspects tried to get in. police say the suspects pulled several armed robberies. as investigators closed in last night the robbers ditched the car on nestor street. skyforce 10 flew over a deadly crash in atlantic county

late last night. a vehicle hit a pedestrian on 322 in egg harbor township. that person died. crews shut down the road for a time but it has since reopened. this morning, police are looking to get to the bottom of a suspicious determine near philadelphia international airport. crews first arrived for a car fire yesterday afternoon. once they put out the fire they found the body of a man in the driver's seat charred to the bone. and they also found an empty gas can in the trunk of the car. >> we have no leads at this point. >> ford mifflin road weaves to an industrial area around the airport there. the tags on the car are connected to an address in south philadelphia. 4 minutes after 4:00 this just in to nbc10 news, the search into malaysia airlines

flight that vanished last year could be expanded. search could continue if that jetliner is not found by next month. malaysia australia and china are leading that effort to find that missing jetliner that disappeared with so many passengers on board. 239 people that flight from kuala lumpur to beijing when it disappeared. >> happening today, a lehigh county woman, and her boyfriend, a 14-year-old girl will go to court on a preliminary hearing. a judge will decide if that 14-year-old and her boyfriend should be tried on murder charges. they are accused of plotting to kill the 14-year-old girl's mother because she was trying to break them up. nbc10 learned there was a series of text messages sent between that girl and her boyfriend in the evening leading up to her mother's stabbing death. kala barnes that woman you see

an assistant football coach at penn state. in north hampton county authorities are warning parents to be on the lookout after a woman tried to lure a girl into her car. she pulled up to a 9-year-old walking home from school. the girl described the driver as an older woman with light hair large rimmed glasses and a puppy. she kept asking the girl to get in the vehicle. but she drove up and the girl's brother drove off. >> as soon as they said a puppy in the car, that was stereotypical, too. she wasn't but the puppy was. >> announcer: now the nbc "first alert" weather with meteorologist bill henley. clear skies this morning. temperatures, they're falling right now, 40s and 50s not quite

two army reserveists face a court hearing on gun charges they're accused of stilling weapons and body armor. authorities say the ammunition and body armor came from marine supplies. look at this. the chopper sat down yesterday to the surprise of a lot of beachgoers. crew members were taking part in routine training when that chopper had a low-pressure warning. no one was hurt. president obama welcomes the wounded warrior project soldier ride to the white house today. the eighth annual event focuses on raising awareness about rehabilitation for disabled veterans. the event planners also want to help wounded warriors restore their physical and emotional health as well. new jersey governor chris christie is making the round as a possible presidential candidate. he sat down with the "today"

show with matt lauer. >> this is the nomination for president of the united states you've got to earn it. >> and you can see the rest of christie's interview on the "today" show at 7:00 after nbc10 news. sweet news for people in south jersey a famous cheesecake maker is setting up shop in burlington county. junior's announced it's moving its baking operation from new york it will replace the smaller building in queens where junior's has been set up the past 15 years. the company is expecting to finish that by july. demonstrators in pennsylvania are fighting for a bump over the minimum wage. on market street in philadelphia yesterday, the campaign called the fight for 15 they're trying to make the minimum wage $15 an hour. >> ma do we want? change. >> this is the scene in

philadelphia yesterday morning. some workers walked off the job yesterday. similar protests took place in other parts of the country. if you live in philadelphia you will soon be getting a new tax. the city mailed out 131,000 yesterday. more than 58,000 property assessments are going to be higher. a bill that could provide sick leave for workers now headed to the republican-controlled state house. pennsylvania senate voted in favor of that bill on tuesday. it's opposed by democratic governor tom wolf. it's set to take effect next month. today, wawa is marking its 51st anniversary and that means free coffee. mike nutter will help celebrate by declaring wawa day.

the store will give out free coffee. wawa first opened in 1964. happening today from our jersey shore bureau. the start of a project to restore oyster beds. marine wildlife group plans to build a snells shells the group will place baby oysters on the reef so they can attach to the shells and thrive. experts consider the project innovative and one of the best ways to do that for oysters. and south of barnegat there are word of boaters running aground. the sand from there washed into that inlet from beaches replenished after superstorm sandy. the army corps of engineers

refutes that. it's just not safe to pass through. >> boaters are afraid. and the boats will goes where. we end up with a lot of boat slips that are empty. >> the coast guard said it's working to mark the inlet more closely so boaters can safely navigate it. firefighters have three separate brush fires under control. skyforce 10 found one of the fires in bucks county and two in northeast philadelphia yesterday afternoon. these are the consequences of dry weather that prompted a warning. bill, are we seeing a risk those brush fires todayy. >> not really the wins have died down. that's going to decrease the risk quite a bit and it's going to allow temperatures to come up for another nice day. sunshine will be bright and temperatures back in the 70s. i'm tracking showers that will help dampen that fire risk. not an all-day rainfall we'll see scattered rain showers and

sunshine still on track for the weekend. 52 degrees at philadelphia international. that's a few degrees warmer than yesterday. not a lot different. with a gentle breeze blowing, and we'll see a shift in the wind that will become more easterly that will bring more humidity in the area. you'll likely feel it. 46 for millville, atlantic city potts pottstown, just a couple degrees warmer. 47 in langhorne. and furlong dropped into the 30s, upper 40s for doylestown and quakertown down to 53. a little chill in the air. not quite as cold as yelled. some high clouds around actually helping to keep the temperatures up this morning. just high clouds. no rain from these clouds. any rain will wait until tomorrow. forecast is calling for scattered high clouds mostly sunshine that's a mild one. high temperatures in the the upper 60s and low 70s this

a new study suggests breast-feeding could help new moms quit smoking. studies show about 70% of women
