the same eastbound from the schuylkill expressway to 95. pa turnpike drive times free and clear. westbound route 1 to valley forge, 23 minutes eastbound from valley forge to route 1 23rks minutes there as well. we'll check in with more drive times coming up in ten, chris. let's get you to breaking news now coming into the newsroom out of south asia. a 7.4 earthquake shook nepal this morning sending people rushing out into the streets. this comes less than three weeks after the devastating earthquake that killed more than 8,000 people. this is near namche bazaar. this is near mt. everest. we don't know if there are any deaths or injuries. this all comes as nepal is still struggling to recover from the april earthquake that killed

8,000 and injured 18,000. entire buildings were flattened. the first phase of reconstruction will be $2 billion. the nfl has suspended patriots quarterback tom brady for four games for his role in deflategate. officials say brady was quote at least officially aware that two employees let air out of balls. the league said brady refused to cooperate by refusing to hand over personal e-mails and text messages. here's bob costas. >> i think it's a product both of the behavior and brady's unwillingness to fully cooperate with the nfl which they resented. >> now brady says he will appeal his punishment. the league has also fined the patriots $1 million and the team will lose draft picks during the next two years. at 5:00 a.m. "nbc 10's" vai sikahema will be joining us with a closer look at the significant

can't significance of brady's 4 game suspension. a robber smashed this window and grabbed the register. it happened around 2:00 this morning. police have found the suspect and took him into custody. right now they're waiting on a warrant to search the suspect's home trying to find that stolen cash register. new this morning, police have given us photos of a suspected shop lifter who attacked a grocery store worker. this guy was trying to make off with a cart filled of $900 worth of stuff at the acme. when the employee tried to stop him. he attacked the worker. the man in the second photo was also involved. if you recognize either suspect call the police. happening today in atlantic county. the man accused of faking his death in a boating accident is scheduled to make his first court appearance. andrew vittle disappeared after

crashing a pontoon boat. you see ted greenberg asking him questions. investigators say that he fled to avoid prosecution on fraud charges. last month a grand jury handed up an indictment on more fraud chorges against him. also today this man charged with shooting a philadelphiadwóta police officer will be arraigned. nobblen shot officer kostic. he fired back and hit nobblen. both have recovered. a montgomery county woman says it is a miracle that she and her mother are alive this morning. their car got sideswiped and wedged beneath a ups truck on the pennsylvania turnpike. state police tell us that ups truck was changing lanes near the lands dale exit when it slammed into the victim's car. the car was pinned beneath the big rig.

the woman's 78-year-old mother was quickly freed but it took the crews there nearly two hours to rescue katerina monia. we spoke with her by phone. >> i looked at my mom and i said, we're alive. this is absolutely miraculous. >> sky force 10 captured rescuers moening. she'll need more testing done before she can be released from the hospital. her mother is doing fine. in delaware county police have arrested one man in connection with that caught on camera street brawl. they're still looking for the person who they say fired shots during the fight. cell phone video shows both men and several women fighting in the street in darby borough on monday. some had bats. they arrested at thattamir.

no one was hit but a bullet did hit a house. >> one guy with a gun, he's on parole for doing drugs. so what have you got? we find drugs in the house we turn over and he's got a gun. what the hell's he doing on the street? >> a lot of questions there. darby borough has scheduled a community meeting for next monday. leaders want to talk to police and encourage them to make the neighborhood safer. today people down south will continue cleaning up after a string of deadly tornadoes swept across the region. here's an ariel look at damage left behind from van texas. two people died. more than 1/3 of the town was destroyed. in nashville, arkansas two people died when a tornado hit their home. they were shielding their 18 month old daughter and she survived. in communities like krum texas, people were air lifted from

their homes. animals found themselves in need of rescue. rescuers pulled dozens of horses to safety. those horses were in a nearby pasture. the family had to herd and rescue the horses. a similar theme in colorado after a week of rain and snow led to fast-moving flood waters an ambulance was swept off the road by the fast-moving flood waters. those people had to be treated for hypothermia. here in this area we can't seem to buy a modest sprinkle. it's hot and dry and some people feeling the effects more than others. "nbc 10's" matt delucia joining us from riverton new jersey. this could mean lost revenue for farmers, right? >> reporter: that's right, chris. it's warm and muggy in new jersey. we see a little shower sprinkle here and there, but for the most part the ground in many spots here in south jersey is bone

dry. that is causing quite a bit of problems for farmers, especially the sandy soil out here requiring quite a bit of water. farmers aren't getting it with the lack of significant rain. now is the time for planting sweet corn and tow nate tows. several farmers said they are not planting as much as they would like or they're having to use their own water and irrigation systems to keep the crops growing. to put this all in perspective for you, new jersey had rainfall an inch below and philadelphia airport is an inch below normal. the effects are being felt. we'll hear from a farmer's market owner who's experiencing this problem firsthand. he said it's bad. getting worse. we're going to hear from him. he says at this point you have to wait p it out, hope for some rain. the problem keeps going. it's going to be bad for the crops later down the line.

"nbc 10's" katy zachry is live along westchester pike to explain. what's this all about, katy. >> reporter: a few years ago they looked into why people move into delaware county the strengths of the county. later this morning county leaders will unveil the top five reasons why you should move to delaware county. also in part with that they'll unveil a new website that could be used as a market willing tool for businesses hotels schools, realtors to attract people to the area. delaware county is diverse from the main line be to the airport

staffing level changes in camden school district. they're looking at cuts or to align the number of staff members to the number of students. well the pennsylvania primary, hard to believe it's just one week away now. crunch time for the democratic candidates in philadelphia's race for mayor. lynn abraham and nelson diaz appeared in a neighborhood forum. the other four candidates didn't make this one. two of them did send representatives. the big issue here focused on how the next mayor will make philadelphia a global destination. once again here is a look at all six democratic candidates facing off in the primary. lynn abraham, nelson diaz jim kenny, doug oliver anthony william. the winner will take on the lone republican melissa murray bailey in the november general election. defense lawyers for boston marathon bomber dzhokhar tsarnaev rested their case in the penalty phase of his trial.

the sister from "dead man walking" was the last of 40 defense witnesses to take the stand. she testified that tsarnaev was remorseful during the jail house conversations. a federal jury will begin weighing their punishment. jurors have to decide whether the 21-year-old college student should spend the rest of his life in prison or be executed for his crimes. how about this one, a judge in alabama handed down a life sentence for the woman who was convicted of running her 9-year-old granddaughter. she punished her granddaughter for stealing candy by making her run around the yard for three hours. she died of extreme physical exertion. george zimmerman is back in the headlines again after someone shot at him. police in florida say a driver opened fire while both men were in their vehicles. the bullet did not hit zimmerman but he was hit by shattered glass. investigators say the shooter

and zimmerman were involved in a dispute after a road rage incident. so far no charges have been filed in this case. zimmerman has a history of run-ins in the law since the jury acquitted him. in january police charged him with assault for throwing a wine bottle at his ex-girlfriend. those charges were dropped. in november 2013 police arrested him after a different girlfriend said he pointed a gun at her. prosecutors did not pursue that case. two months zimmerman was accused of smashing an ipad after an argument with his ex-wife. no charges after that. liberians are marking the end be of ebola in their country. they gathered to celebrate. over the weekend the world health organization declared liberia ebola free. it was the country hardest hit during the epidemic that killed 4700 people there. now your "nbc 10" first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley.

>> thank you, chris. a check out the door in new jersey through the black horse pike. through the work zone everything moving along fine. you see flashing lights with crew there on the scene taking up part of the right hand shoulder on the southbound side. not really setting anybody back. drive times hardly affected by that 13 minutes headed southbound from 38 up to the black horse pike. at this point no problems headed northbound as well. moving forward out to route 202 checking on the drive times there. free and clear northbound from 30 up to the schuylkill expressway 11 minutes. griffin just under that if you're headed westbound. septa, new jersey transit and patco transit all running on time with no reported delay joos it will cost you more to park in downtown allentown, at least in one special part of allentown. the city has doubled parking rates from $1 an hour to $2 an hour. you'll have to feed the meters until 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
