republicans. surgeon surveillance provisions under the patriot act expired this morning. some say saving the massive phone records can help track down some terrorists. paul blocked repeated efforts to stun them and he made a stunning claim about his critics. >> some of them i think, secretly want there to be an attack on the united states so they can blame it on me. >> reporter: indiana republican dan coates says paul is not telling the truth. >> americans will be put at risk because of a false narrative being presented. >> reporter: paul mobilized his supporters on social media with the #run with rand. >> i've run for president twice but i wouldn't stupe to something like this. >> reporter: but rand says he's not playing politics. >> i forced the issue in 2011. you know there's always going to be cynics.

>> reporter: this morning the white house calls this lapse irresponsible. so what happens next? both parties say they expect they can pass a fix over the next few days where instead of the government collecting the phone records, the telephone companies would hang onto them in case they're needed for investigations. >> this comment that senator paul made to his critics. some of them i think, secretly want there to be an attack on the united states so they can blame it on me. it's a very dramatic comment. this is a victory for him politically, but it seems like a polarizing victory. >> reporter: while his stand on this is popular with younger voters and includes some liberal progressives who also don't like this bulk collection it certainly has put him apart from his own party. so in trying to run for president, that is a tough place to be to get the nomination when she stands apart from most republicans. >> kelly o'donnell on capitol

hill thank you very much. meantime let's get to the weather. that same storm system that brought historic rains to texas now causing flooding problems across the east coast this morning. al's got the latest on that. >> we were in moderate drought. we needed the rain. we just didn't need it all in about 90 minutes of time from last night. show you what's been going on. and amazing video from yesterday. this is just outside newark new jersey. cars swamped, homes flooded, apartment buildings, businesses a real mess. while much has now drained. we've got more drenching rains today into tomorrow. look at some of this rainfall. newark over 4.5 inches. boston almost an inch. philadelphia close to an inch of rain. it's a stationary front that lays here and impulses will climb up along it. we're looking anywhere from 1 to 3 inches but locally could be up to 5 inches of rain over the next 24 hours and that will lead to more flooding. speaking of flooding it's been the wettest may ever for texas.

austin 17 inches. 17 in wichita falls. wettest month ever for the entire state. average rainfall across the state 7.5 inches. way above the average back in 2004. why? an active el nino and that stubborn pattern the jet stream bringing storm after storm. oklahoma having the same problem as well. the good news is guys we are going to be looking for a change in the pattern. as you see over the next several days dry conditions across all of texas and oklahoma. they do still have major flooding of some of the major rivers, but that will start to subside towards the end of the week. >> thanks very much. want to turn now to the emotional reaction around the world to the death of beau biden. the 46-year-old son of vice president joe biden. kristen welker has the outpouring of support for the biden family. kristen, good morning to you. >> reporter: matt good morning

to you. vice president biden has canceled all events today. he's at home with his family in delaware where flags have been lowered to half staff and today the entire political world and people across the country are mourning beau biden who at 46 was taken far too soon. a grieving vice president biden called his son beau the finest man any of us have ever known. a special father/son bond that was clear to everyone. >> my friend my father my hero. >> reporter: born in 1969 beau was often by his father's side growing up. but he became a politician in his own rights a decorated iraq war veteran, but family came first. >> this is an incredible loss. beau was an extraordinary person. >> reporter: the grief gripped washington where lawmakers offered emotional tributes. >> i'd like to express my condolences to the entire biden

family. >> a life cut too short. >> reporter: the obamas also paid their respects. traveling to the biden home. the president said beau was just like his dad and made a difference? the lives of all he touched and he lives on in their hearts. this is not the first time tragedy has hit the biden family. beau was barely 4 when he was in a car accident that killed his mother and sister. joe biden just elected to the u.s. senate was sworn in beside their hospital bed. >> one of my earliest memories was being in that hospital. >> reporter: beau was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago. he kept his pain private but became deeply personal at a graduation. >> my dad's definition of success is looking at your son and daughter and realize they turned out better than you. and they did. >> reporter: we expect the vice

president's office to release details about the funeral services soon. biden was surrounded by his entire family including his wife hallie and two young children natalie and hunter. back to you. >> thank you so much. ron klain is a close family friend of the bidens. ron, good morning to you. >> good morning, savannah. >> there has been such an extraordinary outpouring from all walks of life every political stripe. it's a testament to beau and the biden family. how are they doing? how are their spirits this morning? >> obviously it's a horrible tragedy. it's hit everyone in the family very very hard. but i know that all of them want us to be focused right now not on their loss but on beau's extraordinary life and the amazing things he accomplished in his 46 years here and the kind of person that he was. a great man. a person described by duty and honor. beau lived up to the fullest of them and i agree with the vice

president when he says he is the finest man any of us have known. >> we heard some of his accomplishments and they are many. but what strikes people about beau biden is what a warm kind humble person he was. >> yeah. beau grew up as the son of a senator but you would have never known that. he was completely down to earth and really dedicated, of course first to his family but to public service as well. i mean this is a person who signed up for the national guard when he was in his 30s though he was the sitting attorney general of delaware went to iraq and served in a combat unit there where he was decorated. then when he came home he had the chance to run for his father's seat in the u.s. senate. and really would have had it handed to him on a silver platter almost. beau was in the middle of prosecuting one of the largest child abuse cases and thought it was his duty to see it through to the end. and that kind of character is

just extraordinary and that's the kind of person that beau was. >> i think what has touched a nerve so much is just the thought of what vice president joe biden has been through in his life. having lost his young daughter and wife at such a young age. little beau survived. but now to have lost him at the age of 46. knowing him as you do how do you think he will handle this and how is he doing now? >> well i think -- as i said before i think it's obviously an unbelievable tragedy. as you said -- the vice president said before when his wife passed away and his daughter was lost in that accident in 1972 his mother said to him that something good would come out of it somehow. though it's hard to believe, he always always believed it was his relationship with his sons beau and hunter that was so special out of that tragedy. now to lose one of those sons is an excruciating loss on top of an excruciating loss.

the vice president is incredibly resilient people. the biden family is the closest most loving family i know. they'll be there for each other. as the president said yesterday, all of us are there for them. the bidens are loved around the country by political allies and foes. and i know there's incredible outpouring of love and affection for them right now as we think about beau and think about the family. >> there is and i hope the family feels it. ron klain, thanks for sharing your memories today. we appreciate it. >> thanks. >> our condolences go out to the vice president and his family as well. meantime there is new fallout over the charges against dennis hastert. wheaton college in illinois will remove the 73-year-old's name from the economic and public policy center. now, that decision follows hastert's resignation from the college's board in the wake of his indictment on charges of lying to the fbi and violating federal banking laws.

>> hastert agreeing to pay $3.5 million to conceal his misconduct that took place 30 years ago when he was a high school teacher and wrestling coach. law enforcement officials say the person receiving those payments was a male student at the time and the misconduct was of a sexual nature. hastert has so far not responded to the charges. he is expected to be arraigned this week. natalie's here now with an accident that could have much worse. >> thankful not many people were around sunday morning when an air conditioning unit fell from a crane and crashed down to the street below. the unit sheered the side of the building as it fell to a manhattan street. ten people were injured by falling debris. the crane was lifting the unit to the top floor of the building when the cable snapped. an investigation is now underway. some scary moments at los

angeles international airport sunday when a car crashed into a terminal injuring three people. the porsche came to rest partially inside a utility room on the departures level. among the injured, a 9-year-old girl in critical condition. the driver of that car mistook the gas pedal for the brake. u.s. secretary of state john kerry heads home to boston after an overnight stay in a swiss hospital after he broke his leg in a bicycle crash. he fell on a tour de france route near geneva. he had to cancel the rest of a four-nation trip that included an international conference on combatting isis. add another name to the list of republican hopefuls. lindsey graham will launch today. graham has focused much of his life on foreign affairs issues and one of the president's biggest critics on middle east issues. now to a terrifying fall

during a performance in houston last week. thankfully she's going to be okay. the acrobat was hanging from her hair from a replica rocket ship as it flew over the audience and you see she fell into the seats down below. amazingly she suffered only some bruises. circus officials say the accident was due to a failure to properly latch to a safety cord. and this happened near toronto, canada. a car is shown flying over the ledge of a gas station next door and slamming into an autorepair shop. the driver was injured but is expected to survive. no word on how or why it happened. crazy stuff. >> got to be a storiy there. my goodness. thank you. mr. roker? >> we've got more wet weather up and down the eastern seaboard. we're going to be looking at that. also a risk of strong storms in the plains with wet weather in the pacific ♪ me and you, ♪ ♪ and you and me. ♪

>> and that's your latest weather. >> thank you. funeral services are being held today for the washington, d.c. family brutally murdered in their home last month. today national correspondent craig melvin is outside the church this morning. craig, good morning to you. >> reporter: savannah good morning. while three of the four victims will be laid to rest behind me this afternoon, this morning we've learned that police will once again be back at the family home combing it for more evidence. the attorney for the one man who's been charge sod far is speaking out. three members of the savopoulos family will be laid to rest today two weeks after they were killed. along with their housekeeper. in brutal slayings at their washington, d.c. mansion. friends attended a private wake for savvas amy, and philip on sunday. but 14 days after the shocking murders and with reports last week that police believe there may be multiple suspects authorities are remaining quiet

about any additional arrests. so far daron wint has been the only arrested in connection with the killings. wint has a criminal history. his family retained an attorney who spoke to the suspect in jail. >> he believes that they are holding him in hopes that somehow they will find out who really did the killings. >> reporter: and that attorney dismisses the much-publicized dna evidence on a pizza that ties wint to the crime scene. >> there's a substantial time difference i believe i've read between the delivery of the pizza and the deaths. furthermore furthermore, dna analysis is sort of a junk science. >> reporter: some believe the authorities maybe came in on the $40,000 cash that was delivered to the home shortly before the fire and discovery of the family's bodies. >> the interesting thing about money is it usually comes from places that has lots of cameras.

7:30 now on this monday morning. it's the first day of june 2015 and it's a wet one. wet start to the work week here in the northeast. that has not stopped our plaza guests from having a good time. we'll check on them in a few moments. by the way, the rain is our top story this morning. heavy downpours leading to widespread flooding in parts of new jersey overnight. and it was a similar scene in dallas texas, too, where yet another storm had flood waters there on the rise. the nsa's authority to collect phone data expired overnight. senator rand paul used senate rules to block extension of the programs. but a vote on the compromised bill is expected to come in the

next few days. and at least three people were injured including a 9-year-old girl when a porsche jumped a curb and slammed into a wall at los angeles international airport. police say they believe the driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake. let's begin this half hour with a "today" exclusive. tracy morgan is with us live to speak out for the first time since that deadly car accident that nearly took his life. we're going to talk to him in a moment, but first more on that crash. >> reporter: it was a deadly scene. >> there is a terrible accident. the car flipped. >> reporter: a limousine bus carries tracy morgan and others flipped on its side after it was hit by a walmart tractor-trailer. it killed fellow comedian james mcnair and left tracy morgan severely injured. they were on their way home from a delaware casino performance. the comedian suffered brain

trauma in addition to a broken leg, ribs and nose. he's undergone physical therapy and has only been seen in public a few times. >> i'm brian fellows. >> reporter: the "snl" alum even admits the 40th anniversary special for the show this year. >> i wish tracy morgan was here tonight. he was hoping he was well enough to be here too. >> reporter: last week he reached a statement with walmart issuing a statement saying walmart did right by me and my family and for my associates and their families. the retail giant adding we are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved. tracy morgan is with us now exclusively along with his attorney benedict morelli. good morning to both of you. >> good morning. >> you're a sight for sore eyes. >> thank you. >> how do you feel? >> i'm -- i'm -- i can't believe

i'm here. i can't believe i'm in front of you. i can't believe i'm just here. just seeing the tragedy that happened it kind of -- it touches me. >> give me a sense of what the last year has been like for you emotionally. >> i've been down. i have my family. you know i have my wife. we're about to be married. and my daughter my son. to keep my spirits up. then i have ben and mark and all these people to help me get my spirits up. and tina fey and all the people calling me. the case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for jimmy mac. a he was a close friend of mine. he was a loving man and a warm man. he was a good man. it's hard that he's gone. that's it. >> can i ask you to take me back to june of last year tracy and

that accident? >> i don't remember the accident. i just remember when i came through, megan my fiance was right there, my son was right there. and mark was right there and ben was right there. and that's basically what i remember. >> you were in a limo type of a van or a because that was hit by a tractor-trailer that was going over the speed limit. the impact was devastating as we've seen those pictures. you say you don't remember the accident. did you see james mcnair after the accident? >> the last time i saw jimmy, jimmy wrote a joke for me. it was a donald sterling joke and i asked him to come with me the day before. he said i'll be there. i love you, peace. we went there and i did the joke and everybody got an applause break and i saw jimmy there laughing. >> when did you find out he died in the crash? >> two weeks later when i came

out of the coma. my lady told me we put jimmy to rest. i had just come out of a coma. then when i got home it really hit me. and every day i would just watch the accident on youtube and one day i came across his funeral on youtube and i just -- i lost it for about a week. >> a lot of people wouldn't have wanted to go to youtube and see that. why was it important for you to go see that? >> because i had to know what happened to my friend. i had to know and i had to pay my respect. and that was my way. >> after the accident tracy, there were so many varied reports of your condition. some said you were in a coma. some said just broken bones. what injuries exactly did you suffer? >> well as you can see the scars on my head there are times where i have my good days and my bad days where i forget

things. you know there are times where i got the headaches and the nosebleeds. i won't even let my lady know because i don't want her to be worried about it. but i have my good days and bad days. >> you speak about your lady. you told me something in the green room a moment ago that you almost always travel with your family. that when you do gigs you already always bring them with you, and this one time because your daughter was teething, you did not bring them. >> yeah. i told megan, i said you and the baby stay home. i'll go to delaware and be right back. because i know when i look at that accident i don't think -- my daughter was 10 months old. she wouldn't have made it and megan wouldn't have made it. i don't know man. that's really been the thing that tears me up. >> one thing we want to say is that tracy went from robert wood hospital in new jersey to jfk because of his head injury.

and they did such a great job there for him. and i know tracy has told me many times including yesterday that he wanted to thank dr. brian greenwald who is a brain injury expert and he still sees and takes care of tracy. that's a great hospital at jfk. and i think you also wanted to thank a few people. >> nurse jackie. when i first came out the coma i was a mess. i would curse her out every day. i would throw things at her. the only thing she would say to me is everything is going to be all right. so one day i went to see dr. greenwald and i've been having these dreams about my room that he was in. he said do you want to go upstairs and see it. when i got off the elevator i seen all these faces coming to me that i remembered. guess who came around the corner. nurse jackie. and i just grabbed her and wouldn't let her go. i said i'm sorry, i'm sorry. she said i told you everything was going to be all right.

and i had david. he was a nurse there. he would rub me on my hand and say everything going to be all right, young blood. >> and the thing is matt that you want to know that walmart took full responsibility for this. >> i wanted to get to that. has the emotional side been harder for you to deal with than the physical side? >> well, bones heal. but the loss of my friend will never heal. because we known each other a long time. but i'm happy that walmart stepped up to the plate in a tremendous way. and they took full responsibility as you said because it's true. they took full responsibility. i'm just really happy that they looked out for jimmy mac's family. i know my friend can rest in peace now. in the beginning there was a misunderstanding but that got squared away and they came through in the clutch. >> what are your goals?

do you want to get back to performing? >> i love comedy. i love comedy. i'll never stop loving her. i love comedy and i can't wait to get back to her. but right now my goal is just to heal and get better. because i'm not 100% yet. i'm not. and when i'm there, you'll know it. i'll get back to making you laugh. i promise you. >> you always have. >> there's one thing, matt that i want to say. and tracy -- >> i'd like to say to my son and the brother and all the people that stopped that night to get us out, my drivers ty and ed because they literally tried to pull us out, please let me say this. and i want to thank the helicopter people that took us to the hospital. and the ambulance drivers and police that was on the highway that night and just the passerbies that tried to help. everybody helped our lives. everybody. >> i just got ten seconds left.

the stills first found out that leah had cancer. i had the chance to visit with her in the hospital on friday where she suffered a setback in treatment. the doctors are working hard to get her recovery back on track. >> reporter: just two months ago, the still family celebrated with leah as her dad announced a scan showed no results of any active disease in leah's body. >> the strength comes from your heart. my daughter has shown tremendous strength. >> reporter: with her spirits high and doctors giving the green light, devon surprised his daughter with a trip to disney world at the end of april. but on friday his social media account reflected a very different message. leah had hit a pretty serious complication. after 5-year-old leah was admitted to the hospital on may 5th she began intensive in-patient treatment in preparation for a stem cell

transplant. according to the cincinnati bengals defensive tackle, they caught it early so hopefully it gives the doctors a better chance of stopping it from getting aggressive. leah was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma last summer shortly before he was cut from the bengals. the team announced they were keeping him on the roster so the treatment would be covered by the team's insurance. leah's supporters have followed her valiant struggle with updates on her father's instagram account. and by watching here on "today." >> what happened and you didn't cry? >> tube. >> a tube came out and she said i didn't cry. good for you. >> reporter: she even had a role in my truly brave music video where there was an anthem for those struggling with cancer. now devon is asking for prayers

to it? >> actually there is no truth to that story. any time there's an anniversary coming up i hate to say it there's some crazies that come out and they have so placed themselves in her story, it's empty. there is nothing to that story and this individual he's been around for awhile trying to get traction to get attention, but he has no information. >> does that make you angry. >> make my angry? i think it just makes me sad that you know that he would just keep trying to insert himself into this role of her disappearance when it's untrue. there's nothing about it that's true. >> so from the beginning joran van der sloot was a prime suspect and certainly focus of the investigation. of course he was never prosecuted in aruba but

travelled to peru was convicted of murdering a young lady there and is serving a 28-year prison sentence. he's also been permitted to get married and have a baby. i wonder how that sits with you. >> the way i look at it is -- and i don't -- i don't care about that. i don't care what peru allows joran to do because i can't control it. do i like it? no. i wish the peruvian judicial system would have stricter guidelines for joran, but since i can't control it i don't care about that. what i care about is information as to what happened to natalee. and i just try to stay focused on the facts. and just let the other information go. because i can't control that. >> does it feel like justice to you that he is in jail right now? even if not for the killing of your daughter? >> well i think right now what is happening is joran -- stephanie, for the murder of stephanie. justice is being served for stephanie. but until he faces extortion

charges in the u.s. then justice is not being served for natalee. >> and that comes from a decision in the midst of this case to give him $25,000. he said to you, i will tell you where the body is. instead he made off with the money. that's what he accusation is and went to peru. this is the basis of the extortion charges. what are the chances when he completes the sentence in peru he would be brought to trial here? >> he will be extradited. the u.s. tried to get him here to face charges and then return to serve up his sentence here. but peruvian court said no. but there is a hold on him and he will be brought directly to alabama when he's done with his sentence in peru. he's got a long way to go still. >> it's a 28-year sentence there. are the chances he serves the 28 years? >> i think he'll serve a good part of pipt he could get off for good behavior none of which is in his dna. but he faces another 20 years here. >> well it's been ten long

>> he'd been given a clean bill of health earlier. >> it was not unusual but to learn through the sadness about the battle that so many other gos through. it's heart breaking. >> and in isolation, it's a tragedy. when you put it together with joe biden when he lost his wife and young daughter in an accident. >> he was sworn in as senator at beau biden's bedside. and beau said he remembered that. the vice president said something very touching a couple of weeks ago at a graduation. he said as a parent there is nothing more fulfilling than looking and seeing that your children have done better than you and become better people than you. when i look at my son i can see that. >> we're thinking about the bidens this morning. we're also thinking about tracy morgan. he spoke for the first time in an interview with matt here in this studio. he was critically injured in a

car accident a year ago. he was traveling from a comedy performance in delaware carrying him and six others. it turned on its side after it was slammed into by a walmart tractor-trailer going 20 miles over the speed limit. the accident killed his good friend comedian james mcnair. tracy calls him jimmy mac. matt asked how the past year has been for tracy. >> the case is settled but the pain is always going to be there for jimmy mac. you know, he was a close friend of mine and comrade in comedy. he was a loving man and he was a warm man. it was a good man. it's hard to see that he's gone. >> that's one of his oldest buddies jimmy mac comedian that was with him. he also spoke of a lucky twist of fate that his family he often

travels with was not with him that night. >> i told megan you and the baby stay home, i'm going to delaware and i'll be right back. because i know when i look at that accident i don't think -- my daughter was 10 months old. she wouldn't have made it. and megan wouldn't have made it. and i don't know man. that's really been the thing that tears me up. >> tracy was in a coma for a couple of weeks afterward, didn't find out jimmy mac had died until he came out of the coma and said his only way to pay respect was to go online b and actually watch the funeral on youtube. he talked to matt about that. >> every day i would just watch the accident on youtube. and one day i came across his funeral on youtube. and i just -- i lost it for about a week. >> a lot of people wouldn't have wanted to go to youtube and see that. why was it important for you to go see that? >> because i had to know what happened to my friend. i had to know. and i had to pay my respects.

and that was my way. >> tracy really if you watch the full interview on today.com, you can see how much he loved these people who he lost, but also the people who took care of him. he thanked the staff, especially a woman he called nurse jackie. and he went out of his way to go down the list of the all the people who took such good care of him from the bystanders that night on the highway and those who helicoptered him out of there. he says he wants to return to comedy and make people laugh again. he had a brain injury, facial fractures that he pointed to during the interview broken legs. >> when he came in the studio here, you were there. he came around, hugged everybody. and a lot of the crew members worked with him on "saturday night live." so it's really emotional to see him back. matt's taking him over to the

they're preventable. one of the major things to focus on is hand hygiene. not only your own hands, but the hands of your caregivers the doctors, the nurses, the staff that surround you every day. first of all take care of yourself first. when you're going for a test, when you're touching any surface in the hospital, you have to remember a lot of patients have been touching them who could have very serious infections you don't want to get. you want to wash your hands carefully. you want to keep the sanitizer ready at all times. and you want to encourage those who visit you and the staff to make sure they wash your hands as well. >> even though they are cleaning the hospitals up and down and doing everything possible to maintain the pristine clean somehow infections still manage to live on the surface. >> they do. and fortunately many of the germs you'll find in the hospital are deadlier. they're more resistant to antibiotics because they've been exposed to so many in the hospital. these are not the infections you want get. you may go in with one thing and

come out with something different. people are shy about questioning the doctor or nurse. we have pins where i work saying ask me if i've washed my hands. this is your right. >> you say track your tests and medications. what does that mean? >> your nurses come around every few hours dolling out the medications. it's easy to have a mixup put the wrong medicine. ask what is this i'm getting, why am i getting it today. >> even if you're not in the position to do it, find someone to help you. >> it's important. many of us have had loved ones in the hospital. we ask those important questions. when you're the sick person in the hospital, you're distracted, not feeling well, not sleeping well, it's great to have an advocate there by your side to ask those important questions. >> you say get a second opinion when you're in the hospital as well. >> absolutely. when in the hospital you can still get a second opinion. if someone's recommending

we're back on this monday and this past weekend marked a somber occasion, ten years since alabama native beautiful natalee holloway disappeared while on a high school trip to aruba. >> the case has captured headlines around the world since and from the beginning her mom beth has been front and center fighting to really know what happened to her daughter. >> we're going to speak with her in just a moment. first a look back at the case. >> reporter: 2005 on the small island of aruba, a mecca for vacationers, natalee holloway joined classmates on a trip to the tropical paradise. it was a celebration of their high school graduation and also a great things yet to come. on the last night of the trip, natalee was with friends at a local bar where she was last seen getting a ride with joran

vand her sloot and his two friends. there were relentless searches and extensive media coverage. >> i'm not leaving aruba without her. >> van der sloot would become a main suspect although never charged. he repeatedly changed his version of what happened the night natalee disappeared. in a shocking twist, he was arrested in 2010 accused of murdering college student stephany flores in peru. they met at a casino exactly five years to the day of natalee's disappearance. >> do you want to be extradited to the states? >> reporter: van der sloot is now in a peruvian jail serving a 28-year sentence for flores' murder. for a time, there was hope the turn of events would lead to information about what happened to natalee but that has not happened. today natalee's disappearance remains a mystery. >> oh, my gosh. hard to relive the whole thing, isn't it? natalee's beautiful mom beth

really strong foundation of faith, so of course with you know, my faith and then just being proactive. everything i did in the search for natalee. even when i was traveling around the country talking to our young adults about personal and travel safety, i felt that was -- at first it started out as a cathartic experience but then it turned to where i saw how the impact that it had on these young lives. >> gave your life purpose. >> it did. >> beyond finding your daughter. >> yes. it gave it purpose and meaning and, you know i was able to then, you know see the silver lining in our tragedy. through our tragedy, i took our -- what all that we learned into a learning experience for others. >> as it's been a roller coaster in a sense, hasn't it, that you would get leads and i'm sure your hopes soared we're going to find out. have you given up hope that you will find natalee ever? or do you think -- given up hope on finding out what happened to
