camouflage -- >> gilly suit i guess. >> they have not found the inmates considered dangerous. it is our top story. we want to get to nbc national correspondent miguel almaguer. good morning. what can you tell us? >> reporter: savannah good morning. the manhunt knows no boundaries. the rural forest and farm land a backdrop to a massive search a few hours ago. authorities say this isn't the only place they are looking. on the run five days now, investigators are on the trail of murderers david sweat and are richard matt following leads not just here but also here . 51-year-old joyce mitchell a supervisor in the prison tailor shop who worked with both sweat and matt has been identified as a person of interest. on the day the inmates were reported missing -- >> be on the lookout for two escapees. >> reporter: mitchell checked into this hospital complaining of a panic attack. could the inmates have used her? we spoke by phone to a convicted

murderer who testified against richard matt in court. we agreed to disguise his voice because he fears for his safety. >> there is no telling what kind of revenge he might want to exact on people that i love people that are close to me . this is a are very psychotic individual. >> reporter: 40 miles from the prison wall they cut through and the manhole today escaped from a tip that sweat and matt were seen running into these fields. in willsboro an intense man hunt. with hundreds of tips investigators are mobilizing search teams across the region. these are the conditions they face -- thick terrain, all across this area. saying the trail has gone cold here for now, authorities are reaching out to those who knew the fugitives, including richard matt's 23-year-old son. >> we are just waiting like everyone else i guess. >> reporter: police say there is no word or sign of the inmates.

inmate. >> reporter: do you think it's possible she was taken advantage of? >> i don't know. they are both convicted murderers. you have an inmate in prison for life they don't have anything to lose. when you are put in a situation where family members, friends or other family members might be threatened or at risk you do a lot of things you wouldn't think just to protect your family. >> reporter: do you realize there may have been a threat? >> i'm constantly worried about what might be going on. >> reporter: he last spoke to his mother the day of the escape. his mother called from an emergency room where he said she was treated for a panic attack. people are saying maybe she had a panic attack because she was supposed to help them get in the car and didn't. a lot of speculation. >> no. i mean my mommer worries a lot about everything. especially with me. >> reporter: has she been to the hospital before with panic attacks? >> i believe -- i believe she has a few years ago. she constantly has panic attacks

news coverage and told two other jurors about it. they were instructed not to read news reports about the trialer or discuss the case amongst themselves. holmes is charged with killing 12 people in the shooting spree. three alternates will now become jurors. a camera captured frightening moments when a gust of wind swept away a bouncy castle this in southern china last week. a 3-year-old girl died in the accident. the video shows a woman trying to grab onto the large castle as it blows away. at some point the girl died at the hospital. there are questions about whether or not the castle was properly secured to the ground. los angeles police are looking for the public's help tracking down two drivers involved in a road rage-fuelled brawl. crazy video. the drivers were screaming at each otherer for ten minutes. they got out, started throwing punches. one man was almost hit by a van, as you see right there when he

and back. palms face back. do it until you get to a hundred. now we'll target the front part of the arm. the water is just about up to your shoulder ss. with a slight bend go forward and back forward and back. you are using the you are water as resistance. really target the upper body. >> jenna, i know you can't help with this. but maybe you can help with the whole butt-thigh area. >> i put together two moves. debbie will help out with both of them today. we'll start with the inner thighs. bring your legs wide. we'll come down and up. all the way down and up. do 20 of these and then 20 hops. show me a hop. hop, good. hop. perfect. from there we'll work on the glutes and hamstrings. right leg up. push the right foot to the ceiling and down. up and down. perfect. you will do 20 reps like this. after 20 everything stays here and this foot comes down.

i have four jobs three kids. there are trouble spots but let's focus on the abs. what can we do? >> gilbert is helping out today. we'll target the core which is your front and back midsection area with two great exercises. the first will start in a plank. come down into a plank for me. take your left knee and bring it up to the left elbow. then your right knee. the second exercise will do the same thing but top to bottom. your entire abdominal region. if you would lay on the ground on your back great. i want your arms straight up in front of you. bring the legs up as well. i want you to open both arms and legs and close them. two exercises to really get this entire core area. four spots, four workouts to help you have a trouble-free summer. so it's important to point out that trying to lose weight just in your trouble spot isn't possible. that's spot training.

unfortunately weight loss doesn't work that way. you have to lose the body fat to see the muscle. so diet, circuit training genetics all play a key role. the workouts you saw play a role. i won't make you do the move i was showing you in the piece with this beautiful dress on. you see how a move like that doesn't take much time. >> though. >> you work all different parts of body. if you do them without resting in between you get cardio and strength training. >> i think it's a lot of cardio work. >> it's doable and they are short. >> how many times do you have to do it in a day? >> i'm not going to kill you. you have a lot going on. if you can do five 10 15 a day three times a week this is something you can do. anybody can do this. modify it to make sure you can work within your comfort level. >> i was hoping you would say have a dance party. that would be a good way to tone up. >> wine and a dance party are alternatives to working out and eating well -- not.

cheese butter and salt. >> that's six. >> don't measure. go like this. >> buy the pizza dough. >> you can make it. i like to use something where you don't have to think. i stretch it. this is nonstick which is perfect. stretch it so it looks round or roll it out. then you would do a little flour on top, not on you. >> this won't go well. >> it will go beautifully. you have to mimic a round shape. doesn't have to be perfect. then transfer it to a sheet pan lined with orparchment. >> assume that's round. >> perfect. >> we'll move to the nutella. you can use babananas, bacon. >> adding ingredients. not sticking with the five. >> say you have bacon left over from -- dessert?

which i would have. sounds like me. >> bacon cream pie you love. >> my favorite. >> we add the cheese egg. >> confectioners sugar and a little bit of salt. we are not counting that in the ingredients. everybody has salt. mix it up smush it around. use the cream cheese and strawberries if you don't like chocolate or nutella. >> you want to hand mention it? >> just make sure everything is at room temperature or it will be chunky. all you have to do is spread it on half of the round. spread around herement. >> all of it? >> all of it. leave a small edge perfect. that's great. the off duces tecum dst set is perfect. spread it on half. if you just want to use nutella, you can do that. i like to grill them. clean off your grill and plop

david sweat and richard matt who escaped from prison in upstate new york a few days ago. prison employee joyce mitchell has been named a person of interest in this case. on the day they were reported missing she checked into a hospital complaining of a panic attack. stephanie gosk at nbc had an exclusive interview with joyce's son toby who denies his mother helped the men escape and says the rumor she had a relationship with one of the convicts could not be true. >> she is not the kind of person that's going to risk her life or other people's lives to let these guys escape from prison. if she was involved in anything you can rest assured there was a good reason to it. there isser more to it than a relationship with an inmate. >> do you think it's possible that she was taken advantage of? >> i don't know. they are both convicted murderers. you have an inmate in prison for life they really don't have anything to lose. when you are put in a situation where a family member, friend or

other family members might be you know, threatened or at risk you do a lot of things to protect your family. >> his mother is just a person of interest not charged with anything. they are talking to her, see what she knows about this. when you consider the complexity of the operation to get out of the prison somebody was helping them out. >> on the inside they had to have heard what was going on. power tools. >> on mel tall. >> going through grates steel . >> a sledge hammer. >> no way that happens in silence. >> when you pop out of a manhole cover that's not are where the plan ends. somebody helps them. >> there was supposed to be a getaway car which perhaps this woman was part of the plot. we still don't know. >> and if the get awayer car wasn't there you would think they are somewhere still near the area. the fbi ex-per s and folks who do it for a living say most of

the fugitives are found near family where are they look for support or fear the prison. these are awful human beings, murderers. >> convicted. >> brutal murderers. they are out there and perhaps in the community with schools and families. >> they warmed the little town of willsboro. lots of forests. it's hard to find anyone in there. so, of course the police are now in hot pursuit. >> remember the hunt a few months ago in pennsylvania for the guy who murdered a police officer? that took 48 days. this could be a long search. >> he was a survivalist. they believe he planted supplies. there was also eric are yourudolph who was on the run for years. he had a support system. if they have people who planted things along the way you never know. heartbreaking to see the kids, the son. he's being asked about his

mother, being a person of interest. crazy. >> meanwhile his father work maryland the same prison tailorertailor shop. >> because of the way they escaped some compared it to with the "the shaw shank redemption." tim robbins was on conan oh brian last night and was asked about this. >> is the media calling you saying will you comment on the big escape in upstate new york? >> actually, those guys called me a month ago. i did get a few calls. i kind of just, you know, for me it's a different story. >> totally different story. we are talking convicted murderers. very different from the movie plot you were hoping they would get out of prison there. >> let's hope they find them quickly. an interesting story that caught my attention. the new "fifty shades of grey" possibly stolen.

taking a look at the headlines today the ntsb said records indicate the engineer wasn't using his cell phone for calls text or data while operating the amtrak train that derailed in philadelphia last month . eight people were killed this the crash. 200 others werer hurt . the train accelerated to 106 miles per hour before enterering a 50 miles an hour curve. the engineer's lawyer said he only used the phone after the crash to call 911. a major step forward in bionic legs. scientist hs in chicago have an experimental leg that doesn't require the user to undergo nerve surgery or get invasive em plants. it is controlled by thoughts and it uses electrical sigleals generated by muscles in the

experience under your belt quite a bit, actually. >> a little bit. >> but r.j. was the newcomer. >> i was the baby. >> and you all give spectacular, real performances. i mean, you don't catch any of you acting at all. was it scripted? was some of it improvised? >> all scripted. the writing is such a rhythm to it. it was really easy. you don't want to add anything. >> the skemchemistry between you two was so palpable. was there any history? >> we'd been on awe decontaminations for six months so by the time we started shooting it's good friends. >> where's your accent, snierldireland? >> manchester, north of london. >> was that hard to put that away? >> when i first started doing an accent it was hard. the first two episodes of a tv show i was on was awful, it's terrible. >> it was flawless in the movie.

>> people will talk, of course, about the relationship between the two of you but there's also a great relationship between your character tom and r.j. you don't call yourself friends and explain why. >> well, greg keeps everyone at an arm's length to protect his feelings. he's an outcast by design so he has referred to earl as his co-worker since they were in kindergarten. >> co-worker. >> and they make films together. they're teenage filmmakers and they make homages top classic films like "soft work orange, a aapocalypse wow." >> a lot of people will make comparisons to "a fault in our stars" and that was about teenagers going through an illness. do you see similarities in the film? >> no. >> no. >> to me one of the biggest things is -- and i'm going to butt in here. but you know people keep talking about it and it's based on a

"ya" book by the amazing jessie andrews but this book is so accessible to everyone. it's a human movie about love and how we take care of each other and life and death and friendship and family. it's really for everybody. >> connie, i saw you -- were you on folallon doing a hula hoop? >> it wasn't fallon, it was james corden. >> we love him. >> i love that guy. >> isn't he adorable? >> i have a question, who's the better hula hooper you connie, or you kathie lee? >> oh, i am. >> i think it's probably r.j. state police say two northbound lanes are open but periodically closing the lanes as needed to clean up the apple juice. no serious injuries reported. a stray bullet hit a man in north philadelphia earlier this morning. police say two men were fighting. one man pulled a gun and open fire. a bullet hit a 53-year-old man standing across the street from him. he was taken to temple hospital. he's expected to be okay. we'll have full hour of news coming up in 30 minutes.

we begin with breaking news this morning. two buses collided in the lincoln tunnel this morning between new jersey and new york city. here's a live look at the scene right now. new jersey transit bus hit the rear of a private bus. 18 people are known to be hurt. the buses were heading into manhattan when they crashed. we have video of one person on a stretcher being loaded into an ambulance on the new york side of the tunnel. we've seen people walk out carefully, under their own power. it happened on the new jersey side of the tunnel. there are 60 to 90-minute delays getting into the tunnel on the jersey side. that's what we're getting right now. we'll c
