a hospital spokesperson told us he hoped to have a update in a few minutes or so within the hour. we understand his injury is not life threatening. we understand there's no concern about paralysis. there's a lot of concern about the overall well being of the former president who this morning is listed in stable condition. former president george h.w. bush is in the hospital after falling. the 41st president who celebrated his 91st birthday on june 12th was hospitalized edd for a week in december in houston after being admitted for shortness of breath. as the oldest living former president bush lives with a form of parkingson's disease.

every other republican opponent. so you have to take him seriously. >> right. whether he's got eight, four ten he's the richest person to run for president. he's practical he can spend a lot of money promoting himself. but i think the biggest thing about it is why is he so popular? people love success. they love the notion he's rash and successful. somebody that rich or whatever else you want to say about him he's had success. >> his critics say he has a short shelf life. he's on top of the polls now. his favorables are rising. how long can he keep it up? >> he's not at 40% in the polls but he's at 18 but he's leading. where will trump have problems? he's going to get scrutiny. people are going to look for his business records, college records. then other republicans will come after him. i think other republicans will

take his message. what are the positives on trump? what is he talking about that voters are responding to? i think you'll see the other republicans try to steal some of his market share talking the trump. >> the president took a question about bill cosby and whether he should have the medal of freedom revoked. he could have dodged the question. he could have taken a pass. he weighed in, as we saw in the piece. >> he want the to use his moral authority to weigh in not on the cosby case but for the issue of sexual assault which has gotten greater prominence in the military and across college campuses. the president feels so strongly about this. he didn't want the opportunity to pass to use his moral authority as a president, as a father as a husband to speak out emotionally about it. >> mark good to see you. thank you. the search is expanding now for escaped drug kingpin el chapo with 10,000 law enforcement officials on high

alert in mexico alone. and we're finding out more about his brazen escape from the prison. mark potter has the latest. good morning. >> good morning. a top official said the u.s. will do everything it can to help mexico recapture guzman. it won't be easy. he has a long history of hiding out and being protected. chapo guzman has been on the run for five days and no sign of the billionaire drug lord. wednesday night cameras were allowed inside his cell there's not much left except a square piece of concrete that once covered a whole. prison officials say chapo used to make the daring escape. >> if i was him i would be looking over his shoulder. >> guzman's escape has law enforcement officials everywhere on high alert. a top dea official said it's personal. >> i'm here to commit to you we're going to do everything we can to get this guy back in jail. >> but officials admit it won't be easy.

chapo, which means shorty is a complex man who built a legend that is larger than life. according to a former dea official chapo is 60 or 61. he grew up poor and started growing marijuana when he was 14. going on to be named one of the world's richest men by forbes magazine. six years ago he married his third wife. on the day she turned 18. she's a former beauty queen who is also an american. >> it appears they have a pretty strong relationship which means she has all the interest in the world to protect him and prevent him from getting captured again. >> on social media his children are not in hiding. a twitter and instagram account by his sons has posted pictures of a lavish lifestyle. those who know el chapo describe him as a man of permits. he's a man who is hard to keep in a jail cell. >> what chapo is more than anything else is a survivor.

the man has a talent for survival. he's ruthless he's brilliant, he's efficient, and he's evil. >> in an odd twist officials say they found a small dead bird inside chapo's cell. they believe may have been used to test the air quality in his escape tunnel. meantime later today mexican security officials including the attorney general will appear before congress to answer tough questions about how chapo got away. >> mark potter thank you so much. natalie is here. scary for pilots. >> these are concerning incidents. the faa reportedly investigating multiple laser incidents against planes at newark airport in new jersey. at least five incoming planes were flashed with green light lasers. air traffic controller reportedly responded by changing approach patterns for incoming flights. no injuries reported. authorities in kentucky are searching for several people missing in the aftermath of severe storms. at least three people were killed in flash flooding

we have an update on that breaking news we've been following for you all morning long. all lanes of the schuylkill expressway westbound have reopened at the route 202 off-ramp in king of prussia. the westbound side of the schuylkill had been closed since about 6:00 this morning when this tractor-trailer overturned spilling scrap metal on to the highway. nbc 10's katy zachry is at the scene, and she tells us that the accident is now clear. let's find out more about what's going on right there with nbc 10 first alert traffic reporter jessica boyington.

right now at 11:00, another morning of highway havoc for drivers on one of our busiest roads. skyforce10 showed the mess on the schuylkill expressway near king of prussia when a tractor/trailer overturned and spilled piles of scrap metal onto the road. good morning. i'm vai sikahema. it was a situation that tied up traffic for most of the morning. here's a live look from our traffic camera at i-76 at king of prussia. cars are getting by here. the scene took nearly four hours to clean. nbc10's katy zachry explains from the scene.
