a hospital spokesperson told us he hoped to have a update in a few minutes or so within the hour. we understand his injury is not life threatening. we understand there's no concern about paralysis. there's a lot of concern about the overall well being of the former president who this morning is listed in stable condition. former president george h.w. bush is in the hospital after falling. the 41st president who celebrated his 91st birthday on june 12th was hospitalized edd for a week in december in houston after being admitted for shortness of breath. as the oldest living former president bush lives with a form of parkingson's disease.

"i dream of jennie" ran on nbc for five seasons. the pilot titled "the lady in the bottle" was about a sexy genie and hansom astronaut. major nelson find and opens a mysterious bottle and, poof his every wish is her command. >> i'm free to please and i'm

going to please though very much. the premise of a beautiful genigenie was considered risque. but barbara pulled it off. the network told eden she could not show her belly button. fantasy-based series like "i dream of jennie" provided an escape from the '60s. 20 million viewers ersers tuned in each week. the ongoing sexual tension that fuelled the series ended when jeannie married her master. "i dream of jennie" was cancelled in 1970. through film television and stage career barbara eden became one of the pop icons of the 20th century. and how cool is this? barbara is with us inside the

bottle. good morning. >> good morning! welcome! >> thank you. >> how did we do? >> very, very well. >> i think it's pretty cool. >> yeah. >> when you hear that it's been 50 years since the show premiered in 1965 does that blow your mind? [ laughter ] >> yes, i'm afraid it does. >> has it been amazing to see the legs the show has had? you don't have to be a certain age to appreciate "i dream of jennie." it's been in reruns so long. i'm sure you have young people on the street come up and tell you about it. >> that's true. i have whole generation families come up. >> early on in the show's run executives at nbc would not let you show your navel in the now famous outfit. how long did that last until you pushed it? >> well, actually at the beginning it was no problem. no problem at all. no one thought anything about

it. i raise my arms and my belly button would come out. then george slaughter decided he wanted to premier my navel, and then executives at nbc got very frightened. [ laughter ] george said he had never seen so many suits sitting around a table in his life discussing someone's a ees's anatomy then they became strict about the navel. >> they did? >> they did. very strict. the pants had to be shadowed so you couldn't see my legs. >> speaking of outfit. it became so famous -- we have a photograph of a couple of years ago, you were talked into putting it on for a special event? >> yes. >> with president clinton. >> yes. it was in indiana. >> i think we have the photograph here. how did they get you into the costume again? >> scary. it was scary.

it was not easy. >> you know the late great larry hagman was a great co-star for you. i heard something recently that you said you didn't like the fact that major nelson and jeanne ended up getting married. why is that? >> no i didn't. it ruined the show. because she -- she wasn't human! she was an entity. genie's aren't human. witches are human. genie's are not. she thought she was and he knew she didn't. i think it broke credibility. we had a lot of fun with the fact that she was weird. >> that's a nice way to put it. you have a long career before and you had a long career after wards. you'll be remembered as jeanne is that for the bad or the good?

>> no. she's very easy to live with. i like her. i had forgotten about her, to tell you the truth, for many years after wards because i did "harper valley pta" and lots of specials and tv a movies and las vegas and she got lost. >> yeah. >> and then all of a sudden here she is again! i'm very happy. i love it. i love going to europe and having people come up to me because the show is still there, you know. >> here she is and here we are sitting in the bottle. it's such an hon noor to have you, barbara. congratulations on 50 years. >> thank you. how to enjoy pasta without packing on the pounds. an easy

this morning we have my favorite chef here "today" food contributor siri and seriously delicious. how you can keep things light and easy with a cool for the summer pasta. >> yes. >> when i think of summer -- i don't think of pasta as being one of the lighter things. but this is light. >> as you know i like thick, creamy indulgent pasta. >> it can be hot or cold. the ingredients are simple. we'll make a bow tie pasta with arugula pest towo. >> there's all the ingredients. run out to the store and get those eight things now. >> you might have some at home. so we have boiled pasta. we want to cook it until it's el dente. maybe you can drain it. while you're doing that i'm going to toast the pine nuts. this is probably the longest step. >> that's making the pesto sauce

from scratch. >> exactly. it's easy. i do it a lot at home. >> and i see you there. >> and i'm cooking. you're going to toast the pine nuts. a great technique is not to have to do it in the oven. no one wants to turn their oven on. it's summer. it's hot. we toast them over a dry skill let et et. >> look at me doing the dishes just like at home? >> yeah about that. you toast fast. you smell them -- do you smell that? >> they smell great. now we save half of these for garnish, then the other half we're going to throw -- >> why is it they're in a shape of a bow tie becomes light and fluffy. >> it's cute right? >> yes, it is cute. i ate a dorito in the shape of a bow tie i would think it is healthy. >> do we need to save the water? >> no. you can set it aside or hold it

and use your muscles. in the cuisanart or a blender, we put the parmesan cheese and do a light pulse. >> no olive oil yet? >> not yet. if i can get it on. there we go. then we're going to add the arugula. by the way, if you don't pine nuts you can use walnuts. why are you laughing? >> that shot that was funny. >> you got that. arugula. why don't you add this? >> thank you. >> all of it? >> exactly. >> you can use peas. i've done peas kale the traditional is basil. i've even done it with broccoli. wow, you made a mess. >> just that? >> just that. and turn it on and pulse it. while you're doing that i'm going to add the olive oil in a steady stream until you reach

we have an update on that breaking news we've been following for you all morning long. all lanes of the schuylkill expressway westbound have reopened at the route 202 off-ramp in king of prussia. the westbound side of the schuylkill had been closed since about 6:00 this morning when this tractor-trailer overturned spilling scrap metal on to the highway. nbc 10's katy zachry is at the scene, and she tells us that the accident is now clear. let's find out more about what's going on right there with nbc 10 first alert traffic reporter jessica boyington.

jessica? >> you said it accident is clear. we are still seeing slight residual delays but it's in combination with the morning commute volume as well. let's take a look approaching the scene of the schuylkill expressway around route 202. you can see westbound or eastbound, no problems, so you can resume your normal travel this morning. as well for the roosevelt boulevard, we are dealing with construction right here right around fox street on the southbound side. only two lanes getting by and this ramp is blocked. so, some small backups behind it. tracy. >> all right jessica. brilliant sunshine to start your day. let's get you updated on the weather with nbc 10 first alert meteorologist bill henley. bill? a gorgeous day so far from city to the shore. the shore still has a few clouds, but we're seeing more and more sunshine, and the crowd is growing, too. all the rain has moved out completely and the temperatures are moving up. 71 degrees in philadelphia. still some 60s around north and west. and at the shore, cape may is reporting 68 degrees at the harbor but look at north wildwood at 72 degrees. bright sunshine and we will warm into the low 80s this afternoon. >> looks terrific. i'm tracy davidson.

have a family of my own. in the summer of 2011 i was never closer to realizing that dream. five months earlier i met bill the man of my dreams. but then i got the call that changed the course of my life. i had a rare fast-growing uterine cancer and had to start treatment immediately. i would not have blamed bill if he had decided to gracefully exit. instead, he told me he loved me and we got to work. by january i had lost my uterus and my ovaries but i had also beaten cancer and was able to freeze embryos. after being one year cancer-free, bill and i got engaged and after our wedding we began the process of finding a surrogate who could bring our child into the world. we found our angel in a woman in ohio who wanted to help others experience the same joy of parenthood that she had. on the day before my 34th birthday i received the greatest gift possible. our son, archibald william, will was born. our love story has taught us many things.
